I hate to be the typical cynical internet user, but 600 dollars seems like a lot. I bought a giant Polish flag off Amazon a few years ago for 5 dollars and it's holding up fine. I don't think people are going to be willing to donate if you're not willing to show them what exactly they're donating to get.
As a senior member of the MMB, you and other people that have posted here have done an A+ job of making me feel like shit. We spent the last three weeks putting together this totally unconventional show in hopes that it would appeal to the student section (and by the cheers I heard during the Nyan Cat and Double Dream Hands songs, I thought we had done a good job), and here you are dumping on all of us because you didn't like it.
Do you realize how hard it is to please 113,000+ people at once? It's impossible. Just because you didn't like one halftime performance doesn't mean you need to inslut the entire band and rally other people to hate on us as well.
The alumni cheerleaders doing their thing is one of the highlights of homecoming for me, and I definitely noticed when they didn't come around doing flips and shit for the whole game (although at one point during the fourth quarter they came by and one of them did an awesome handstand).
It makes me really sad that they were told they couldn't do their gymnastics this year, do you have any idea why? :/
It wouldn't be such an annoyance if they didn't play it 10 times per quarter, but instead of pumping people up, everyone around me groans whenever it's played now.
I don't understand who thinks it's a good idea to keep blasting the same 3 songs the entire game.
Wow, really? How old are you? Your complete lack of respect for people that are putting in so much time and effort to please YOU and entertain YOU astounds me. Please tell me, why do you feel entitled to boo the band? What did you do during the football game, besides sit (or stand) and watch?
I'm sorry the band played a show you didn't like. Next time maybe the director will send out a survey to make sure every single person in the crowd of 112,000 people that are going to be attending the game will love the show before putting it on the field. That's totally possible to do when putting on a new show every week.
Clearly, you are completely justified in helping make a bunch of college students (especially seniors) feel like shit because you don't like one of the halftime shows they were in, and what you did was not in any way disrespectful, childish, or rude. In fact, it was totally productive! You sure showed those 18-21 year olds, they'll never play a Britney song again!
