Crazy expensive, but I really enjoy the few pieces of Jordan gear I have.

Me too. Mercifully, my legs finally stopped growing when I was in my twenties. I'm 6'4" with a 36" inseam. There are benefits to being tall, but being comfortable on an airplane is not one of them.

05/05/2018 - 9:52am Wait a sec

How does one literally get beat to the punch? Is this some sort of kool-aid melee?

04/25/2018 - 11:40am Big Bend National Park

Big Bend NP on the Texas/Mexico border is very interesting. It's one of the lesser-known parks, is pretty remote, and the hiking and views are fantastic.

Here's some shots from our 2017 hikes up the Santa Elena canyon which bounds the Rio Grande:

And of the Grapevine Hills trail:

04/23/2018 - 11:31am Scheduling oddity...

With MSU, WMU, and EMU each hosting their openers on Friday 8/31, and CMU and Michigan both away for game 1, there won't be any Saturday football in the state until week 2 when Michigan hosts WMU and CMU hosts Kansas.

Thanks for the comment. I think you're right. Sad to think that there's that many folks looking to dull or escape their situations.

  1. Why? (I'm being serious, I don't understand why that's better)
  2. I suppose I can see that some people want to numbed the pain of loss
  3. That's unfortunate that people feel that's necessary
04/20/2018 - 9:15am The other side of that coin

The other side of that coin thuough is Michigan's ability to get after field goals and punts in the last few years (4 against UCF alone).

04/20/2018 - 8:58am Here goes nothing...

I'll see your unpopular opinion and will raise you a very unpopular one.  I too am glad that Michigan Stadium doesn't sell alcohol.

I further wish that alcohol didn't exist at all. I don't understand the attraction... it turns otherwise enjoyable people into reduced versions of themselves, and often brings out the worst traits in folks, and that's all before crossing into more serious problems like health concerns, alcoholism, and threatening people's safety.

Set this to auto-post in a new thread every 1-1/2 hours..It will always be appropriate.

04/17/2018 - 1:44pm This is pretty compelling.

This is pretty compelling. You still get the excitement of possible returns (moreso than with the new 25 fair catch rule), possible fakes, and even straight-up going for it. Punts are way more exciting than KO anyway IMO.

Sidebar: Could/should regression to the mean in a positive direction (like higher 3pt percentage) be considered progression toward the mean? Positive regression seems odd to me.

03/28/2018 - 10:40am Doesn't seem so crazy to me

Doesn't seem so crazy to me that Don Brown might have some unique insight on the QBs since his defense plays against them regularly.

Likewise, they could ask one of our 437 offensive coaches what it's like to face Gary, Hudson, and the rest of the defense.

Yep, that checks out.

Although I live 20 minutes from JerryWorld, watched the Florida game on TV, and went to 2 games in AA last year so maybe it's a terrible idea, haha.

02/15/2018 - 4:12pm Right

(at the risk of further stoking the fire...)

I agree with you. Right or wrong, timing has a lot do with these things.

02/15/2018 - 2:11pm That's fair.

That's fair.

When quickly skimming the front page those blobs of text caught my eye so I thought I'd share.  Given Mgoblog's recent and well-written meanderings into socially-sensitive subjects (health disorders, the MSU mess, etc.), it's not crazy to think an article might address a tragedy that has caught much of the nation's attention for the moment. When one reads more closely and that's not where the article is headed, it seems a little insensitive.

FWIW, I'm usually on the "don't be so oversensitive" side of things, but this one struck me differently.

02/15/2018 - 1:49pm Well...

Firstly, thanks for the great site and content. Truly.

Secondly, I agree that the headline and "BULLETS" heading could probably use a change.  They seem a bit tone-deaf.

02/01/2018 - 8:45am Well it's the biggest story

Well it's the biggest story in college football right now (and one of the biggest in sports)... it happens to be taking place at Michigan's in-state rival... and it is being written about by the fanbase of our arch-rival.  Pretty topical if you ask me.

01/22/2018 - 9:12am I don't think it's

I don't think it's unreasonable to say that the 1st or 2nd string QBs could have done a little better than the 3rd string.

01/18/2018 - 10:02am That's a sensible argument.

That's a sensible argument.  Although, I'll admit that the frozen thunderstorm against Minnesota turned into a fun night because of the crazy, cold weather.

01/08/2018 - 12:08pm I'm chaning my answer...

I'm chaning my answer...

I want this to go down as the 'worst and most boring championship ever', full of turnovers, penalties and ejections, and going to OT tied 0-0... then Georgia wins by sneaking in a tipped field goal.

01/08/2018 - 11:48am Convenient Q/A format...

Who do I think will win?
Alabama, because they're Alabama.

Who do I want to win?
Georgia, because they're not Alabama.

Am I boycotting because it's all-SEC?
Yes and no. While not a formal boycott, I'm way less interested in a game between only SEC opponents, so I don't care if I miss it.

Uh... OSU has been really good, but there's this program down in Tuscaloosa that might have something to say about "most successful team of the last 20 years".

12/20/2017 - 11:41am I used to feel that way about

I used to feel that way about triple option teams too, but have more confidence since Harbaugh showed up.  We don't seem to get burned by option concepts or trick plays as much.
