Wow. No name guy from a tiny school. Trade the f down next time.

04/27/2018 - 10:01pm Kevin Smith 2.0

This reminds me EXACTLY of when the Lions drafted RB Kevin Smith out of Central Florida a few years ago. They even traded up to take Smith.

Exact same size, 6' 215. Considered a "workhorse" type runner, despite being relatively thin for an RB. At least Kevin ran below a 4.5 40-time. Kerryon didn't make an attempt.

I am not a fan of this pick. Prior to the trade, the Lions had the fewest picks in the draft. Now they have two fewer than the next lowest team. Also, Kerryon is underwhelming compared to the other backs that have gone in this range the last two years. Ugh...

04/16/2018 - 9:15pm What's Harbaugh's track

What's Harbaugh's track record at Michigan for finding gems on the o-line? I'm still waiting for one of these "under the radar" types to earn a starting spot on the o-line. Entering year four we have TWO linemen we are confident with and both were top 100 recruits.

That being said, welcome aboard, Jack! Instead of 'pancakes we can call them 'flapjacks'

I'm putting in my Crystal Ball: Georgia.

Tough to pull elite talent from that state. We've seen this scenario too often. Second place in a hat ceremony means nothing. Other negative sentences.

04/07/2018 - 7:20pm Seriously?

Seriously?

Singleton/Anthony/Ross aren't anticipated to make a great impact because the guys in front of them-- Hudson and Bush-- blew up last year, in what was only their SECOND YEAR ON CAMPUS.

04/07/2018 - 10:24am Turnovers are mostly random.

Turnovers are mostly random. But here's hoping the injection of more speed at LB and increased depth/experience in the secondary can swing the pendulum back in our favor.

04/07/2018 - 8:38am Not to worry, friend--

Not to worry, friend-- Anthony and Singleton AND Ross have all received some praise. About a week ago Don Brown was asked about his young linebackers and his reply was a Grinch-like maniacal smile.

04/06/2018 - 9:29pm This year's defense will be

This year's defense will be better than last year's defense(seems to be a rather unanimous opinion around here). Even with last year's offense, which did NOT have a game manager at qb for the most pivotal games, we were competitive in every game except one.

Losing 2 of 3 rivalry games would be a major letdown.

04/06/2018 - 3:23pm Reader request

I'd like a hind-sight analysis of last spring-- what we wanted to hear / what we heard-- to see what translated to the fall, and what was fluff. And what that might teach us about this spring, to keep me from getting too optimistic about this team.

Doing my best to reflect...

-Khaleke Hype 2017 (Uche 2018)
-QB hierarchy: I didn't believe O'Korn was outpacing Peters until JOK came in vs. Purdue (DM ahead of BP)
-Evans Hype 2017 (Now Higdon out front)
-Bunting was supposed to be Butt 2.0, then Gentry flashed in the spring game
-O-line struggling to find best 5 (same 2018)

Anything else you guys can think of?

04/06/2018 - 3:04pm 10-2 is not the goal this

10-2 is not the goal this season. Not with this defense.

01/07/2018 - 11:30am Woodson was born in the HOF

Named to the HOF?! How dare they. Woodson was born in the HOF. The HOF was created with the sole purpose of commemorating ONE of his interceptions.

HOF should change it's name to Charles Woodson and Everyone Else.

01/07/2018 - 11:13am Upvoting oneself

It's called priming the pump.

The user upvotes himself thinking that once the seal is broken many Mgo-Upvotes will follow and snowball from there. Soon you will be swimming in a vast sea of precious MgoPoints, a la Scrooge McDuck.

I admit, I have in the past succumbed to this shameful tactic. And that was my thought process.

Are they reverting back to a director from previous seasons? I wasn't particularly fond of the most recent half-season of episodes. Felt very Marvely-- everybody has an equal part in saving the day, dialogue took a step back, etc.

Regardless, I'm hooked.

Chris Bryant the perma-injured OG from the South?

That guy is still on the team? I swear he was brought in during the RichRod days.

12/25/2017 - 7:08pm Answering my own question

Harbaugh Offense s%p at Stanford:

2007: 90th
2008: 36th
2009: 3rd
2010: 3rd

Harbaugh Offense s&p at Michigan:

2015: 38th
2016: 41st
2017: 74th

Frustrating trend on that second college stint, but we all know the reasons why. JH will never let the qb debacle that was 2017 occur again. I don't think it's outlandish to see an improved passing game result in an offense landing in the top 25 next season. And I'd put the chance of the offense in the top 50 at 90%

Go Blue

12/25/2017 - 6:42pm Where was the Harbaugh

Where was the Harbaugh Offense ranked when he had Stanford fully operational? iirc it was top 15, or better.

Not saying the O will be at that level, but with the passing game taking the expected next step, that should have an exponential effect on the offense, not just additive (Did I use those math terms correctly). Basically I think the improved passing game will make the offense better across the board, i.e.-- improved run average, masking o-line limitations, etc.

12/25/2017 - 6:23pm 1. 75% chance of one

1. 75% chance of one 1,000-yard rusher:
Pretty much agree

2. 40% chance of two 1,000-yard rushers:
UNDER: this is the most obvious to me

3. 50% chance the offense is top 50:
OVER: Being optimistic here

4. 35% chance Patterson is QB1 in 2018:
OVER: I think he's a better arm talent than BP and has superior field awareness. What worries me about BP-- yes the passing o-line was bad, but a good qb should still have the smarts/awareness to avoid getting obliterated on several occasions.

Here's to Us

12/22/2017 - 9:16pm It's kinda grainy

I'll try to describe it for those that do not have Twitter:

EDIT: Or scroll down to see LSA's embedded video.

Looks like a corner route. DPJ is slanting to the left sideline, and when he looks back over his left shoulder the ball is there, albeit high and behind him. What happens over the next quarter-of-a-second is bonkers.

In one fluid motion, DPJ insta-hops up and snatches the ball with just his RIGHT hand and cradles it like a baby. His body-- still flying through the air-- does a full 360 rotation and instead of falling hard, he does a parkour somersault, which ends with him standing on his own two feet as if nothing happened.

What do you guys see?

12/22/2017 - 9:06pm Shane Morris: Six TO's

Really wish Shane could've rode off into the sunset with a strong performamce. But 4 INT's and 2 lost fumbles in front of a ton of NFL scouts (all there to see opposing QB Josh Allen) is pretty rough.

12/20/2017 - 4:24am This thread = wrong tone

The article is written by Ovie himself. It is thoughtful and well written (for a 17-year-old). Seems like the type of person we would want donning the winged helmet, especially if he's anything like his cousin-- Mario Ojemudia.

Yes, fuck Notre Dame. But Ovie does not deserve our wrath.

Good luck, Ovie

12/20/2017 - 4:10am Grant Perry

I'll take a better version of Grant Perry:

(+1) for more acrobatic/athletic
(+1) for two inches taller
(-1) for route running (please hire wr coach)

Solid find after the epic 2017 class.
