is in the same mold as Steve Kerr and Brad Stevens, maybe even Pop. They each share demeanors and philosophies. There are many arguments against this move but saying Beilein wouldn’t be a very attractive NBA hire is not one. Now whether any coach can find success in Detroit in the short-term is highly questionable, and our best reason to not get too worked up over this interview. This feels to me like it’s Beilein kicking the tires, taking an NBA interview because it’s the pinnacle of his profession, but ultimately staying for what figures to be a third NCAA championship window at Michigan

You guys are sticklers. Have you forgiven Woodson for that time Boston beat him or nah?

05/30/2018 - 11:43am Oh there’s no question

Hill has shown himself to be on or very near Lewis’s level and by all accounts Thomas could be there as well. It’s just that it’s not possible to be better than Lewis who played the position to absolute perfection

Future talent: 2018

Senior, fully developed talent: 2016

05/26/2018 - 11:05am I think

most NHL teams will be ok with Quinn playing next year in Ann Arbor, particularly since he will be just 19. I’m wanting him to land with Detroit pretty badly as I do think he has separated himself enough from the next tier of defenders but it wouldn’t surprise at all if he went 4 or 5.

This development with the youngest Hughes means the Hughes’ are liking Mel and Mucklat’s Michigan. That’s cool on its own. It means the talent is coming. As to Jack playing in Ann Arbor next year, the argument about which is best for his development is kind of a push. He could benefit from playing against older guys, but ultimately it’s not that important when you’re as talented as he is. The key will be to keep playing, keep getting stronger no matter what level he’s playing in.

05/24/2018 - 10:20am Interesting

that odds-makers aren’t getting caught up in narrative. UM as a tossup in a road opener against a top 20 team shows the more sober among us see a top returning defense, a QB that should address some of major faults from last year’s offense, emerging talent in skill positions, and, yes, confidence in a proven coach to right the wrongs from last season

Is also a wildcard and that even though he is putting it together with Elizabeth and Philip (really, a return to his first instinct) he remains in real danger because of her. Or perhaps he busts the Jennings in the end without realizing he’s facilited a new infiltration at the FBI. I wonder too if the Russians will see that they’ve gotten as much as they can out of the Jennings and abandon them. Such a great show!

survives to become an oligarch. In the free for all to come in the early 90s, he will have the know how to grab up an industry or two. He will then fulfill a lifelong dream of owning an NBA franchise. Oleg = Oligarch

The operation has fallen apart because Phillip refused to tell Henry at the appropriate time and he unknowingly gave it away in the last episode to Stan.

05/14/2018 - 1:50pm The administration

Is doing its best to uphold President Angell’s vision but the larger environment—the external forces that act upon a public university and those who currently wield power in education — is unfriendly to that highest of sentiments right now. Something we should all keep in mind when we exercise our franchises of citizenship. I salute the OP for framing his post with the selected quotation, which I believe ought to be to first words anyone who loves Michigan associates with the school.

04/10/2018 - 7:12pm If you are looking for encouragement

Dylan Larkin had 7 goals in the final 10 games and looks to have transitioned successfully to center

He’s officially a building block and given that there were periods in the last two years where that seemed doubtful, it’s the biggest development for the Wings this season unless we should end up winning the lottery

04/10/2018 - 7:07pm I’d also add

That in addition to the highlight hits, Kronwall was a top 10-15 all-around dman in the league for about a five or six year period

04/10/2018 - 2:17pm None of this matters

If the Wings win the Dahlen lottery

04/10/2018 - 2:09pm I’ll join the consensus

Blashill is not the reason why the Wings are where they are. We’ve not seen him with anything near a contending roster. He has made some annoying choices with, at times, giving veteran mediocrities minutes that would be better distributed to younger players. That changed in the second half of this season when the team more fully committed to a rebuild. I particularly liked his long leash with Joe Hicketts at the end of the year, and his going all in on Larkin, Mantha, and Bertuzzi. I’ll note two other things in his favor:

1. He harps on character a lot, which again can be annoying, but this team did have it. They competed as hard, I’d say harder, than any other non-contending team. They were never a locker room mess, which is no small achievement for a cellar dweller—just look at other bottom feeding teams this year. Lots of credit for this should go to Zetterberg and Kronwall, but Blashill should be commended for this.

2. He’s right about Andreas Athanasiou.

We got the coach! We got the kids! Go Blue 2018!

12/11/2013 - 1:56pm Winning is a hell of a lot

Winning is a hell of a lot easier when your best recruits aren't wondering if their prospective head coach's job is in jeopardy.

Which, in the case of Hoke, it is not. We know this be irrefutably true.

Although one might get the idea that it is when one sees speculative user-generated posts on fan sites masquerading as serious discourse. Wins are not the sole criteria for success in college football, especially when you are in the third-year of a program reset.

Seriously, we need to stop doing this before we turn into Notre Dame.

09/25/2013 - 12:24pm Banana pudding

1   12-ounce container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whip
1   14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1   8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
2 cup milk
1   5-ounce box instant French vanilla pudding
6-8   bananas, sliced
2   bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies

Line the bottom of a 13x9x2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.

In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer.  Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth.  Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture.  Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended.  Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies.  Refrigerate until ready to serve.

11/19/2012 - 5:51pm Getting Dave Brandon wrong is

Getting Dave Brandon wrong is fast becoming your legacy. You continually overstate or misrepresent Brandon's influence on the changing superstructure of collegiate athletics, and fail to recognize that his responsibility (and really, the only thing he can tangibly direct) is to ensure Michigan's continued success within that environment. In this regard we could not ask for a better athletic director in this current context.
