I'm insinuating his age is catching up to him as an explanatory factor behind his "demotion" to defensive line coach, drop in apparent recruiting ranking, and general All Quiet on the Mattison Swag Front. Yeah, I get the circumstances behind the nature of his job title change but it could be termed a demotion in so many words.
I think Meyer was moreso speaking truth, having coached over GMatt at UF and enjoyed the fruits of his recruiting labors at that time.
I would tender that they look well coached, don't get me wrong... and I think we all know the difference coaching makes seeing the same/similar talent produce vastly different results under previous HC's.

3.5L VQ 255hp motor basically bulletproof and on Ward's 10 Best since its inception. Reliable electronics, fast for a family sedan, pretty good gas milage, HIDs (which I think are a huge safety feature - gotta see to avoid) cheap to fix. Can be had easily for $5k with relatively low milage, not that that matters... mine was at 255k before I got rid of it, and it was in great shape still. It surprisingly looks pretty modern still too, for a decade and a half old car

THE KNOWLEDGE was/is, bar none, the best poster on this site, with the possible 1 time exception for chunks the hobo's masterpiece expose on Dave Brandon urinating on him in a trenchcoat before the proles knew him as capable of such feats. Besides Brian's analysis, which has changed a great deal over the years since '05/'06, and the expanded authorship (not all would say for the better), THE KNOWLEDGE has been the singular tie holding the commetariat together since the haloscan days. Indeed, I feel as if the good ol' days had a much, much higher originiality or humor element/post vs nowadays, where the flood of comments on each post are basically not worth wading through to find the few gems here and there. Each and every post in 2006 is worth revisiting, if only to dig out the treasures haloscan holds, and I cherish them, along with the time I called Les Miles impersonating Russell Shephard, and told him I was decommitting because my girl and I weren't solid (she a SA at LSU at the time).

Were quite the near run thing for the Brits. If the sale of Invincible, the newer half of the carrier task force, had gone through to Australia, the Royal Navy wouldn't have had a fleet to send to the South Atlantic. The RN was a shadow of it's strength even in the 1970's, where it had a small force of conventional carriers to project power. The fight in the South Seas was also a much closer contest than the results indicate. Had a few of the Argentinian bombs fuses been set correctly for their low level employment,
a couple more British warships would be on the bottom of San Carlos Water, and the expeditionary force would have been forced to retire back to the UK, I'm sure much to the chagrin of Fleet Street, which would have eaten Thatcher alive.

It will make everything about your computing experience faster and will be very noticable with day to day use. Good drives from Crucial, Samsung, and Intel are in the $150-170 range now for a 256GB model.

I don't think Denard is good enough at the read part of the zone read to be really really great at it. It's the small things that other QBs do that put them over the top. I believe Pat White was a better fit in RR's offense. Watch Taylor Martinez on an inverted veer handoff and how long he holds onto the ball before taking off upfield. Would be very interesting to see though. Makes one wonder if Oregon's success would be sustainable without their mastermind.

MGoApp has occasionally been brining my OG Evo 4G to it's knees. Granted, it's getting old, and I'm running MikG 3.11, but it should be able to multitask a few apps just fine, especially pared with ATK. Sometimes the phone will become unresponsive to any input, refusing to register touches to the hardware buttons. It's gotten so bad I am intermittently unable to unlock the phone while the app is running and the screen has timed out, forcing me to take the battery out. Anyone else have a rough time with MGoApp and resource usage?

On one of the drops he pretty much gunned it over the middle to Roundtree, who was at about linebacker depth. Looked to me like it was thrown unnecessarily hard for the conditions and 'tree just couldn't hang on. Bellomy probably had a bit of nerves and was throwing as hard as he could, I know I would in that sort of situation.
|09/08/2012 - 7:59pm||Red Zone O||
I didn't watch the game so maybe this comment is completely useless, but perhaps Coach Rod's team has trouble without the open field in front of him. Michigan didn't seem to do great in the red zone in 2010 despite putting up tons of yards. I don't think WVU had trouble putting points on the board inside the 20, so maybe not a negative attribute of the system, but then again they also had Pat White and Steve Slayton.

I was not particularly impressed with Mattison's scheming against Ohio's fairly inept (season-long, speaking) offense. Granted, they pretty much threw the kitchen sink at us, but the NFL-style calls he made nearly cost us free TD's on a couple occasions, saved only by Miller's misses (I suppose I contradict my original post here). I actually find this difficult to type as I've been a huge fan of him and think he is probably a key part of Hoke's success.
Hell, I should quit while I'm ahead. At least he's aggressive, and I haven't seen Chris Graham matched up on Gonzo yet.
|06/26/2012 - 10:12pm||If DeVier Posey was returning||
If DeVier Posey was returning with Braxon Miller, I think they would have been a force to be reckoned with in the B1G. I am haunted with visions of Miller becoming Troy Smith's Michigan-killing visage with his superior athleticism and ability to scramble.
|06/26/2012 - 10:08pm||Less improvement||
I see sophomore maintenance instead of a Rich Rod-esque 2nd year leap. I think if Denard had a third year in the system, we would see a really incredible season out of him. It's unfortunate and really hard to believe this is his last season. What an icon he's become.
If we see 3 dominant games out of him a la Nebraska/tOSU 2011, I'll be pretty thrilled with the offensive progression.

|06/13/2012 - 2:38pm||Take 2: 80=1/16=7||
I agree with this take, but would argue the last year or so more often defines a player's career and fans' recall. Despite Braylon Edwards wearing #80 for half of his career at Michigan, no one associates it with him. Switching numbers as a SR or, more effectively, a junior, will simply push the old number out of a large percentage of people's minds. I bet half the fanbase doesn't even realize Braylon wore something other than #1.
Denard's career has really been something special, and could prove to be a strong counter argument to my view. However, it may also be the case that if he had switched to say, #7, in honor of Rick Leach, maybe Michigan's most memorable running QB, this past year, people may recall his career as a tale of two halves, where the relative statistical success he enjoyed personally was overshadowed by the demise of the Rodriguez 'era,' and the transition to the new jersey accompanies a new, much more successful period for the football program (and the marketing dept, since apparently jerseys are selling like hotcakes down south), as well as great growth as a leader taking a bonded team to great things, and more well-rounded, valuable quarterback.
