01/01/2019 - 5:15pm Ohio State led the Big Ten…

Ohio State led the Big Ten in scoring two years ago and this year's team scored 2 points overall less in conference play compared to two years ago not per game but just 2 points. Plus this year's conference schedule was a little better than 2016 BT play when you compare wins by the East division and the cross-over foes.

01/01/2019 - 4:52pm UCF got completely crushed…

UCF got completely crushed in this game. The yardage was around 550 to 250. Wasn't as close as the final score.

entirely different staff from last year

01/01/2019 - 4:49pm exactly.......so easy to…

exactly.......so easy to spin things AFTER the fact.

Also why can't a team want to be there and still get beat badly? That's possible but no one ever suggest that happens.

If it was all about which teams wanted it more we'd have lot more upsets in sports. You can want it more than anything and still get blown out if you don't play well.

01/01/2019 - 4:41pm I actually agree with you…

I actually agree with you. So lame all the cheating accusations here yet the fact is NO ONE ever gets caught but bag men, yeah right.

No disgruntled former player ever comes out and does a tell all story ever especially considering he'd be paid tons of money if so also. Somehow thousands of players are all keeping this secret.

01/01/2019 - 4:31pm problem with CFB is there is…

problem with CFB is there is no parity. By far the sport with the most lopsided difference between the elite and the rest especially nowadays with the dynasties that Alabama and Clemson have built.

01/01/2019 - 4:26pm how they going to stop it

how they going to stop it

01/01/2019 - 4:25pm it was an after the season…

it was an after the season signing meaning he's at best a 3rd string, extra body to have for off-season camps. Chances he's even in training camp with them is probably 60%.

12/31/2018 - 1:26pm Better team that day is what…

Better team that day is what he said and that is 100% accurate.

People place way too much emphasis on one game results. I know most won't agree with this but if Michigan would have played OSU the following week after losing to them the line in that game would have been around pick'em. Even that is saying a lot considering they were considered 9 points better than the Buckeyes (3 points for HFA) going into that game and teams power ratings don't move combined 10 points off one game results late in the season especially.

Added all up and means UM would win have about a 50% chance of winning that game yet most act like they'd have no shot at all. End of the day the spread is the easily the best predictor we have of future results in sports. Good luck if you believe your opinion is better than that as their is a betting market out there that will happily let you challenge it every week.

We see this all the time in sports, a team crushing an opponent and then playing them later on the same season even the next week and losing.

I actually laugh when I hear people say "won't beat them until this changes etc...". Total bullshit as even if OSU was clearly 6 points better or so that still means you are going to beat them 30% of the time or so as that's about the rate 6 point favorites win games.

12/31/2018 - 12:49pm Famous Mgoblog quote from…

Famous Mgoblog quote from the RR era that was EVERYWHERE: "you can't win with a finesse offense, might work against teams with lesser talent but not against the big boys"

2018 quote: "you can't win with a power offense, might work against teams with lesser talent but not against the big boys"

12/31/2018 - 11:57am Harbaugh has won 77% of his…

Harbaugh has won 77% of his games in 3 of his 4 years at Michigan (73% overall)....... The 1980's Michigan won 76% of their games, 1990s was 78% win rate and 2000-2007 "The Carr Years" they won 73%.

Since 1975 Michigan has had a total of 3 season(s) where they ended the year with less than 2 losses and two of those years were a 9-0-3 record and a 10-1-1 while Ohio State has had 12 of these type years since then.

If we're going to be calling 10-2 regular seasons as bad than we are never going to be satisfied because the reality this program almost never plays above those levels. Harsh reality but true, we should be penciling in a 10-2 regular season at best every year before the season because 95% of the past 43 seasons that's been the case.

The only thing different nowadays compared to the past is Ohio State has went to levels that Michigan has NEVER been the last 40 years and probably can't ever get too, winning 90% of their games. That's what's hurting chances at acquiring Big Ten titles more than anything else.

Michigan actually had the best overall season resume of the conference teams this year and that's why they were 6 point road favorites against the Buckeyes because of how much better they played in all of their games this season. It's also why they were ahead of them (and still was after their loss) in nearly every computer poll as well. Yet because OSU won a few awful played games (for them) they ended up winning the conference title despite what most Buckeye fans would say was an unenjoyable season overall.

I'm not on either side of this argument, just presenting the facts. This is where the program is at, enjoy it and hope OSU comes back down to earth and we catch a few breaks every couple years with easy non-conference (non-conference teams not in top 10) and win a close games (Iowa 2016) and then maybe if so we can go 11-1.

special teams earned all those points

10/20/2018 - 5:15pm Told buddy of mine before…

Told buddy of mine before the game it seems Michigan has shied away from MSU when they play, like they play scared and back down when things get tough. This was not the case here. Faced with some adversity on the road in a tie game in the 2nd half they looked like they woke up and become the more competitive team.

This to me was a program changing win cause of that reason. This was the look I was hoping for when Harbaugh came back to town.

10/20/2018 - 5:10pm This is EXACTLY what they…

This is EXACTLY what they wanted to build since day one here, a physical running game with a highly efficient passing game that when it does throw deep it connects. It kind of offense that fits well with their defense.

400 yards of offense in crap weather conditions against an above average defense on the road is solid. Sure they left some points on the field but still very good.

10/20/2018 - 5:06pm Think this team/program is…

Think this team/program is playing the kind of football that Harbaugh envisioned when he was hired. Never looked like this in 2016.

Michigan State has physically dominated this series the last decade. It's came back to even the last two years but today was an ass kicking beat down
