Both TAMU and Nebraska have new head coaches who have been pretty good at their previous stops; I'm surprised that their new teams are such huge dogs with this book. If I were still a betting man, I'd drop some money on those two games for the dogs.

After all, if there is anything that Hollywood has taught me over the years it is that the plucky underdog always wins in the end in super dramatic fashion. Just to make sure that LU "shocks the world", I will be humming the theme song to "Hoosiers" during the entire game. That should pretty much seal the deal, right?

I think the 2018 team will be better than this year's squad but the end results won't be much better. 8-4 or 9-3 looks like the most likely outcome against that schedule.

I want to reiterate that I am very happy with the production UM got from Higdon/Evans/Isaac. I was not making the point that UM needed Dillon this season but that it would have been nice to have a (now) proven RB on the roster for the future.
This was not an attempt to "call out" UM's staff for a recruiting "blunder" nor to disparage UM's current RB group. I guess I should have made that clear in the OP.

OSU fans shouldn't want any part of Georgia either. So, Clemson is gonna whoop them, Oklahoma is gonna whoop them and Georgia is gonna whoop them.
Recap: If OSU gets in, they gonna get whooped.
(NOTE: Unless they have B1G officials handling the games, in which case, the Golden Vagina trophy is all but assured.)

I don't follow recruiting too closely anymore but I've seen his film and it is...impressive.
Sidenote: I hope UM can find a way to sign Michael Johnson Jr., the 2019 QB who is the son of the WR coach Harbaugh was going to hire which caused Dickhead Finebaum to lose his shit until Johnson's father went to Oregon and everything was A-OK.
Also do want.

|11/30/2017 - 11:09am||The B1G is the best||
The B1G is the best conference? Based on what, exactly?
The B1G has the worst ratio of bowl eligible teams to conference members of any of the Power 5 conferences:
B1G -- 8/14
ACC -- 10/14 (I am including FSU as I assume they will beat Louisiana Monroe)
B12 -- 8/10
Pac12 -- 9/12
SEC -- 10/14
I think one can make a strong case that the B1G was the worst Power 5 conference this season.
|11/30/2017 - 10:58am||Yeah, I think OSU is||
Yeah, I think OSU is overrated this season. They destroyed the crappy teams on their schedule and were in competitive games (Penn St. and Michigan) or lost (Oklahoma and Iowa) to everyone with a pulse except MSU.
Add in the fact that Alabama is in exactly the same situation that OSU was in last year: a single loss to a team playing in its conference championship. Bama should get in before OSU. Honestly, I think Oklahoma should get in before OSU even if they lose to TCU. They would have 2 losses, beat OSU head-to-head and their loss to a mediocre opponent (Iowa St) was at least competitive.

Hell, I could replace Urban Meyer at OSU and they would still be good. It's pretty easy to win lots of games when you have multiple 1st round NFL picks on your team year after year. I don't know a trap from a draw and I am confident I could "coach" OSU (ala Paterno in the press box with no headphones) to 9 wins a season.
I am still amazed that John Cooper lasted at OSU as long as he did with the mediocre results he put up through much of his tenure. He wouldn't last 4 years at OSU these days.

|11/28/2017 - 9:54am||Both things can be true.
Both things can be true.
Yes, UM would probably have won both last year and this year against OSU if the QB's hadn't made so many mistakes in those games (Speight 16 / O'Korn 17) even with the shitty officiating but it is ALSO true that UM probably would have won had the games been officiated fairly even with the mistakes made by the QB's.
Imagine what those games would have looked like if UM's QB's hadn't sucked AND the officiating had been unbiased; UM would have beaten OSU comfortably in both games.
|11/24/2017 - 4:20pm||Exactly.

|11/24/2017 - 4:12pm||Umm...no they don't.
Umm...no they don't.
Neither of their losses were competitive and one of those losses was to a "meh" Iowa squad who put up 66 yards of offense against Wisconsin and just lost at home to freakin Purdue.
OSU has no right to be anywhere near the CFP but, as usual, everything will somehow work out in their favor.

I just hope someone hires Kevin Wilson away from OSU. He's actually turned OSU into a pretty good passing outfit, despite having to work with Barrett, to go along with their already great running game. I'd really like to see OSU go back to being a mostly one dimensional offense.
He might not get another Power 5 gig right away but maybe UCF will go after him when Frost leaves for greener ($$$) pastures.

|11/15/2017 - 10:38am||Losing to Iowa by 31 is MUCH||
Losing to Iowa by 31 is MUCH worse than losing to Auburn by 23.
Iowa is a completely mediocre team (they gained 66 yards of total offense against UW this past week) while Auburn is actually pretty good (not as good as the pollsters think, IMO, but still a damn sight better than Iowa). If UM had lost to Iowa by 31 I'm pretty confident the media would be talking about how that should disqualify any 2 loss team from the playoffs.
That loss by OSU was one of the worst performances I have seen from a good team in a LONG time. The only way a 2 loss team should get into the playoffs is if both of their losses are "quality" losses; losing to Iowa by 31 isn't a "quality" loss. As I said earlier, that loss should have immediately removed them from any playoff consideration.
