12/09/2018 - 6:54pm Saban was NOT a huge success…

Saban was NOT a huge success at LSU. He had one great year when they went 13-1 and won the NC. His tenure at LSU reads as follows:

  • 2000: 8-4
  • 2001: 10-3
  • 2002: 8-5
  • 2003: 13-1
  • 2004: 9-3

Other than the NC year, those results are merely "good" at a school like LSU. His total record at LSU was 48-16 which is a 75% winning percentage. Pretty much what Harbaugh has done at UM.

Saban has only been elite at one stop: Alabama. That's it. Everywhere else he has been above average to good.

12/09/2018 - 1:21pm Nick Saban has never been…

Nick Saban has never been beaten like that, and likely will not beaten like that

In his last year at LSU (the last college team he coached before taking over at Bama), Saban lost by 29 to Georgia.

Any more non-facts you would like to throw out for me to debunk?

12/09/2018 - 1:12pm Why did he pick Michigan on…

Why did he pick Michigan on his first (100% commited!!!) commitment, though? Was he not aware that Alabama had a good defense until yesterday?

I don't get upset over recruiting anymore but it does seem a little...odd...that Alabama flipped two different elite DB's on the same day. Doesn't pass the smell test.

12/06/2018 - 1:17pm Agreed.

This is a fantastic…

Agreed.

This is a fantastic discovery but it is difficult to grasp why this is happening. Did it really take this long for someone to notice this behavior?

Regardless, I think that posting something that could be this revolutionary in saving the world's coral reefs is more than worthy of a single post on this board.

Thanks for sharing this, OP.

Sadly, it would not surprise me if this actually happened.

TOTALLY worth the two clicks required.

Auto upvote for insanely cute Welsh Corgi avatar.

His performance in GGR is the most memorable cameo-type appearance I have ever seen.

I also loved his "I AM God" monologue in Malice.

12/04/2018 - 8:46am He and St. Tebow lost to UM…

He and St. Tebow lost to UM in the Citrus Bowl in Lloyd's last game. So he is actually 7-1 against UM.

11/17/2018 - 4:07pm God I fucking hate OSU.

God I fucking hate OSU.

Lucky bastards always squeak their way out of games they should lose.

FUCK!

FauxMo == Matt Foley?!?

11/15/2018 - 4:41pm I didn't mean to imply that…

I didn't mean to imply that I wanted Gray to not sign with UM or that the staff would encourage him to look elsewhere. I was only referencing the fact that he has had wandering eyes for a while now.

11/15/2018 - 3:15pm Welp...nothing to see here,…

Welp...nothing to see here, then.

Still, I think that bodes well for 12/14.

11/15/2018 - 3:00pm Take 'em all and let…

Take 'em all and let Harbaugh sort 'em out.

Seriously, though, these things always work themselves out. I imagine a few of the guys currently committed might end up not signing with UM.

*cough* Eric Gray *cough*

11/15/2018 - 2:58pm I just checked out Michigan…

I just checked out Michigan's 247 site and saw a post by Brice Marich called "Trevor Keegan visit notes" which was posted just 2 hours ago and already has 72 up votes.

I'm not a member there so I can't actually read the post, but any post about a recruit that gets that kind of response is usually a precursor to something good.

11/14/2018 - 7:10am Point of order: MSU gave OSU…

Point of order: MSU gave OSU 12 points.

- 2 pts for intentional safety

- 7 pts for yakety-sax fumble in end zone recovered by OSU for TD

- 3 pts for fumble recovered by OSU at the MSU 15 yard line (OSU's offense actually lost yardage on the ensuing "drive" and kicked the FG from the MSU 18)

OSU's offense scored 7 points until the very end of the 4th quarter.

11/13/2018 - 8:44am Why would anyone harbor any…

Why would anyone harbor any animosity for NW?

High academic school which runs a clean program with a head coach who is a little goofy at times but not a douche/scumbag.

NW is like the three legged grayhound who wins the race to save Auntie May's farm in classic Disney fashion.

11/10/2018 - 8:13pm Unfortunately, the early…

Unfortunately, the early returns on Hawkins at Safety are not promising.

  • Gave up the how-the-hell-did-he-not-intercept-that TD against ND.
  • Gave up the uncontested TD pass against SMU.
  • Gave up the 80 yard TD run against Rutgers.

It feels like most of the really bad TD's UM has allowed this year have involved Hawkins.

11/06/2018 - 7:45am I don't really want to get…

I don't really want to get into this cyber fight that seems to be evolving here, but OSU most definitely did NOT roll Minnesota nor did they roll Indiana.

Both of those games were in Columbus and OSU only had a 9pt lead over IU in the 4th quarter and a 6pt lead over Minnesota in the 4th quarter.

MSU is a better team than either Minnesota and IU, the game is in East Lansing and Dantonio has had good success against OSU while at MSU.

IF OSU wins this game, I would be VERY surprised if they win by more than 10. I would be more surprised if OSU won by 14+ than if MSU won straight up.

11/05/2018 - 2:00pm Well, if you check out 247…

Well, if you check out 247 you'll see that Crystal Balls have been pouring in for Zach Harrison to UM recently.

Giggity!

11/05/2018 - 1:48pm Has anyone ever seen Murder…

Has anyone ever seen Murder Wolf and Don Brown in the same room together?!?

11/05/2018 - 8:24am Truth.

The other thing that…

Truth.

The other thing that concerns me is that if OSU gets to The Game with a chance to win the division, that they will get some "help" from the refs again ala 2016 and it would actually cost UM a chance at a long elusive Big Ten title (just like 2016).

#yepstillpissedabout2016

11/05/2018 - 8:03am I respectfully disagree with…

I respectfully disagree with the notion that UGA over UM is "understandable." Georgia got pummeled by LSU who has two losses while UM lost by seven to an undefeated Notre Dame squad.

UM is better than UGA and deserves to be ranked ahead of them.

11/04/2018 - 10:43am I actually expect either…

I actually expect either Clemson or ND to lose a game in the regular season which would probably move UM to the #3 spot if UM wins out.

Clemson plays a night game at BC which will hopefully be nice and cold so I wouldn't be completely shocked to see BC pull off an upset. ND still has to play Syracuse at a neutral site (the Meadowlands, I think) and at USC. I would be sort of surprised if ND doesn't lose one of those games.

10/21/2018 - 8:23am If PSU hadn't gacked up that…

If PSU hadn't gacked up that 12 pt fourth quarter lead against OSU earlier this year, UM would just need to beat PSU in two weeks (then beat Rutgers and Indiana) to have the Big East locked up before the game.

Thanks, Franklin!

Remember when Michigan was heavily pursuing Sitkowski?

Yeesh!

10/05/2018 - 12:28pm Yes.

Next question?

Yes.

Next question?

09/20/2018 - 8:59am Personally, I am expecting…

Personally, I am expecting ND to weasel out of the return date. In another 4-5 years we'll schedule them again, and again, the game will be in South Bend.

09/16/2018 - 8:44am The most obvious lesson: don…

The most obvious lesson: don't have a -3 TO margin. OSU's defense scored 2 TD's. TCU would have probably won that game if the TO's had been even.

That's not going to be good for anybody.

Why are you still here?

Urban got away with it. Please go away.

Well, they probably figured Urban wouldn't be able to remember anyway, what with his meds and all.

08/23/2018 - 7:35am Ehh...but does OSU/Meyer…

Ehh...but does OSU/Meyer really get kids to the league or does OSU just get kids who are almost certainly going to end up in the league anyway because they are already really good at playing football?

UM has done a better job of getting 3* types into the league (especially on the defensive line) recently than OSU and the few elite players UM has gotten (Peppers, Gary) have had no trouble getting into the league, either.

08/23/2018 - 7:27am UM beat OSU in 2016. The…

UM beat OSU in 2016. The homer officials just didn't like that outcome and decided otherwise.

08/20/2018 - 11:27am One could make the case that…

One could make the case that Meyer shouldn't have any National titles at OSU.

The year they went on to win it all was the year that they were gifted the win at PSU: remember the interception that obviously wasn't an interception to everyone but the replay official deep in PSU territory that gave the Bucks an undeserved TD or the FG that wasn't snapped for nearly two full seconds after the playclock expired without the officials calling delay of game? That was ten points that OSU should not have had in regulation in a game that ended up being decided in OT. That loss would have given OSU two regular season losses and they would not have gone to the CFP that year.

That game reminds me a lot of the 2016 OSU-UM game. The officials decided the winner, not the players on the field.

08/20/2018 - 6:31am Kinda like, oh say, Tressel…

Kinda like, oh say, Tressel and Meyer, right?

08/03/2018 - 5:19pm So..."I failed in my words"…

So..."I failed in my words" is the new euphemism for "I lied"?

Gotta remember that one.

07/31/2018 - 7:33am Well, let me state it this…

Well, let me state it this way: I like his film more than I did Kareem Walker's or Derrick Green's. Not exactly a ringing endorsement given the way their careers with Michigan went but still.

07/30/2018 - 8:50pm His film appears to have…

His film appears to have been sped up but he still looks to have quick feet and above average speed.

I wonder why he was so lightly recruited?

07/28/2018 - 7:56am If the officials hadn't…

If the officials hadn't royally screwed UM repeatedly in the the 2016 version of The Game, UM would have made the playoffs even with Speight at QB.

Which season were you trying to watch? Seinfeld didn't really find its legs until the third season IMO and this is coming from a HUGE Seinfeld fan.

So...that pretty much excludes anyone associated with Michigan State athletics.

05/26/2018 - 3:57pm The TAMU @ Bama and Nebraska

The TAMU @ Bama and Nebraska at Wisco lines look...interesting.

Both TAMU and Nebraska have new head coaches who have been pretty good at their previous stops; I'm surprised that their new teams are such huge dogs with this book. If I were still a betting man, I'd drop some money on those two games for the dogs.

I still find it hilarious how negative he was on the CB situation which turned out to be pretty darned good. Master motivational tactic, perhaps?
