A lot of sharks out there promising the student-athletes big money, but are really in it to make a buck for themselves. When you see Valiant or M-Den involved, you know the kids' best interests are in mind. But I can't blame the kids either. If someone promised me "free" money for sending out a tweet, I guess I'd sign up for that one too even though it's unintentionally syphoning off the small donor money that could flow directly to them with no % cut being taken off the top.
100% of the sponsorship dollars get spread to all the players on the team equally. No platform taking a percentage cut. Sounds like the type of NIL opportunity that benefits the players the most...
Federal student visa issue. Nothing states can do about it. However, if the money is held in escrow and not paid until the kid doesn’t care about the visa (turns pro), there’s no reason he/she can’t take the money. This really has nothing to do with NIL. Any income violates the provisions of the student visa.
Congratulations, and totally agree. Back in my day, I only applied to UM, wrote an X in pencil through the essay section, and bombed the SAT (and refused to take it again). Not only did I get in, they called my house to congratulate me. I wasn’t home, parents took a message for me.
Man times have changed. But what the F was wrong with me, and how did my parents let me get away with that?
Too stressful for kids and parents these days. Went through it 9 years ago with my daughter. Deferred, then got in. Lots of tears, hugs, jumping up and down, and purchases at M Den…
I have 5 extra tickets in one of the Michigan sections, 329. COVID cancelled the plans of a friend. Was going to put them on Ticketmaster tonight unless an MGoBlogger wants them at face value ($195)
I scream at the TV about the same Car Fox stupidity every time that commercial comes on! Now I know I’m not the only one, so I got that much going for me…
Same here. Used to have a company leadership conference at The Breakers every other year (alternating with The Ritz in South Beach). Can't go wrong with either of those...if the company is paying. Also lived in West Quad in 83/84, had to reply to your post.
I’m in. New site is atrocious on desktop, iPad and mobile. Incompetent responsive website design is no substitute for an easy to use, fast loading app. My visits are down 300% since 3.0 launched. Name your price.
New site is horrible, and i’m visiting FAR less than I used to as a result. Used to check the mobile app hourly. Now I’m checking the site at most once a day. Completely unreadable and unusable on a phone; only slightly more usable on an iPad. I work for a digital agency who designs and builds websites (Drupal and many other technologies) for major brands. I know users complain about new sites just because they’re different. But I can honestly tell you as a professional in this space, the design and lack of testing on this project are bush league. This is not a success. See you tomorrow. Maybe
It could just be that this game is in more recent memory, but tonight seemed louder to me than MSG. Both were amazing. No voice left after the MSU beatdown or the Purdue demolition. And lost my voice in the first half of this one. I think my vocal chords became detached when Baird hit his 3. 24 hours to get the voice back for Saturday. GO BLUE!
I was shocked. I expected the worst, but had nothing but a positive experience with OSU fans. Several fans came up to us and thanked us for coming (before and after the game). Others asked if we were treated well. All were genuine.
Daughter (who's a senior) and I will be there. Going to every single game this year (her idea), so the journey won't be over until January 9th. A stadium takeover a la Rutgers would be nice...
Glad he's OK. I sit in section 1. Two years ago your grandfather was a tremendous help in throwing out an obnoxious couple who were verbally abusive toward my daughter. I simply asked your grandfather to ask these people to show him their tickets (they didn't belong there). When the guy refused to show his ticket, your grandfather went ballistic on them and practically carried them out of the section. Didn't think he had that kind of spunk in him, but obviously he does.
Love the analysis Seth, and the way you tried to find who to believe when there's a discrepancy across services is especially helpful. I wonder if one service is more accurate than the others on a region by region basis. In other words, instead of just concluding to go with Scout when they're higher on a player than the others, I wonder if it can be concluded to go with Service X if the recruit is from Florida, but go with Service Y if the recruit is from the Midwest.
Thank you! I've been waiting for someone to point out the blatant hypocrisy in EL. Not a single mention by fans or media EVER about Izzo's Midnight Madness clown show being just that. Everyone laughs along with it and thinks it's great.
Correction on the long snapper. He has a hyper extended thumb from the MSU play, a ruptured bursa sack in his knee (happened two weeks ago), and was out all last week with 103 degree fever. Harbaugh didn't even let him travel with the team because he was still contagious on game day. Drove to and from the game from Ann Arbor. Need to cut the kid a lot of slack.
FWIW, at the last two home games he's taken part in pre-game WR drills. Probably so it doesn't look out of the ordinary when he's in those drills before the MSU game...
W7, Row 61. Wearing blue, but it's going to be 87 degrees at kickoff so going with kahki shorts; not pants. Staying right on campus at University Guest House.
haven't seen this posted yet, but a really cool aspect of all this is that Nike+ technology is going to be incorporated into practice jerseys and routines. The science of training is about to enter the 21st century for us like it has other programs such as FSU.

Ain’t never been there, they tell me it’s nice.
You can do that on Valiant’s site: https://valiantuofm.com/pages/meettheteam

Great stuff! Would love to get a copy of it, thanks!

“That Todd Anson guy” is very, very much the real deal.
Section 132. Down 2 due to late COVID scratch. 6 more still representing.
All 5 now sold to Mgobloggers. Thanks and Go Blue!

Bought $10k of BCRX @ $4.91. Was going to sell @ $10 until WSB made that claim today. Think I’ll hold it for a while...

Section 211. 10 of us. Go Blue!
Saw him and X at dinner after the game at Sava’s. Charles was in a boot and had an ice pack on the ankle.
Yes, section 115, no
I was a long time lurker, but decided to grab this username when the Les Miles hiring was “confirmed”.

I'm sorry, could you please be more specific? It's hard to keep track of which MSU scandal we're talking about. Seems to be a new one everyday.

Section 106, row 29. But moving down to the empty seats in the 3rd quarter. Go Blue!
