This was already going to be a Michigan-Ohio State showdown before Michigan took Ohio State's RB coach. The CA 4* Jordon Davison recruitment is going down like a 5-star battle, and both want OH 4* Marquise Davis to be the 2nd guy in the class. Also there's a Bo Jackson Jr. out there. Michigan was already prying Jamario Parker out of Arkansas's class, and Hart really liked Iverson Howard so there are options if OSU wins either of those recruitments.

We have also recently expanded the RB board with an offer to 3* Jasper Parker.

The Sparty reaction seems to suggest he wasn't on their two deep.

If it is overselling it is their sale. I have heard Brian use those words multiple times when discussing this.

Concern trolling about recruiting should always be downvoted.

I do not think they want Orji to start badly/ feel certain. I think they have explained it regularly. Orji does something at an elite level whereas the other options do not. If we can establish that elite part of his game, combined with other elements of our team, we are a contender.

Did they say he was playing OL or that he is playing both Edge and DT?

I've listen and confirmed it is DE and DT.

Our 9 man rotations replaces Kris Jenkins, Cam Goode, Brandon McGregor, and Jaylen Harrell with Guy, Pierce, Etta , and Brandt. While I would take that rotation over many alternatives I think it is easy to see how we could upgrade.

I think we have different information or different definitions of what fair is. We do not have enough information to make a judgement call on how responsible Jace was for the Sanderson incident. I also do not see any reason to question his locker room influence more than any other returning player. 

This take doesn't make a ton of sense to me. This year we may struggle to fill an entire roster so having a legacy player around is not a negative and his roster spot will be available next year when we are more stable. A low ranked freshman may take years to develop or be a waste of a scholarship. 

I also just do not like forcing guys out. How many people begged for Austin Davis to be pushed out and he became a legitimate contributor.

Probably not and this guy seems to be in the "won't get through/will lose a bunch of credits" category. Juwan did have a lot of success in the portal though. We got screwed with Shannon and Love but did get Mike Smith, Chaundee Brown, Devante Jones, Jaelin Llewellyn, Joey Baker, Nimari Burnett, and Oliver Nkamhoua.

2023 is the crown Jewel but every Holmes draft is littered with important players.

2021: OT Penei Sewell, DT Alim McNeil (also Onquzurike  who is on the 2 deep), DB Melifonwu, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Derrick Barnes are all important players.

2022: HUTCHINSON, WR Jamo, DE Josh Paschal, S Kirby Joseph, LB Malcolm Rodriguez, and EDGE James Houston are all important players.

That seems like an insane hit rate.

I never said that I just said CJ Stroud can't win big games and he has yet to prove that. 

I may be biased but I think those guys all provide tremendous value at those spots and would be pretty happy with the Lions drafting any of those guys in those rounds. 

Your words do not need twisting. Hubert Davis did not have head coaching experience and therefore does fit that catagory. Howard was also an assistance for years before getting his shot.

It was mostly not players he recruited, but Howard coached a really good team just a couple of years ago and made multiple tournament runs, with last year being the first year he missed;

While not his recruits, Howard had to replace our top 3 scorers his first year. In Howard's second year, the team was almost entirely Howards. The only key contributors were Eli Collins and Livers versus the players Howard brought (Mike Smith, Chaundee Brown, Franz Wagner, and Hunter).

Hiring a stud recruiter away from your arch rival isn't "jaw dropping". Some of you are just looking for reasons to be mad at insiders.

It is because QB has a huge bust rate so people like to hate on them and then later proclaim how smart they are.

We will never be in 3rd and long thanks to Orji's running ability. Problem solved. 

Why is Mettellus making is surprising? He was a stud in college and scouts watched more film than the dropped INT vs. OSU.

This is great. Between him, Berry, Hillman, we have enough safety depth to allow them to help cover the NB spot with McBurrow/allow McBurrow to compete outside as well.

I love Mike Hart but all his success at U of M was with Jaybaugh's recruits. Haskin's had proved himself before 2021 and Corum got a ton of buzz and forced himself onto the field in a loaded backfield as a true freshman.

The idea that no other coach could help Jay's recruits make progress each year is insane. 

The response I have given to all my students who are doubting him is "tell me you don't watch college football without telling me you don't watch college football.

Still annoyed with how many coaches we lost but I am honestly happy with the staff if the "rumors" of Scrugg, Jean-Mary, and Parker end up being true.

I would not be upset with a defensive staff of DC Martindale, DL Scruggs, LB Jean-Mary, DB Corey Parker, if the rumors are true.

Although I would prefer Martindale coach LBs and we bring in a safety coach.

For the record, I like the hire. I just thought it was a bit of a stretch to say he is an upgrade at recruiting considering Elston is great at it.

Elston was our recruiting coordinator so what makes you think he will be an upgrade in that department?
