Agree! Punting on that play when you have, what, 2 inches to go?, was the worst part of the whole game for me. This is a rivalry. You're Michigan playing against MSU. You man up and push 'em back. Since when do we play scared against Little Brother?! I hated the call for the punt there and the ensuing disaster made me hate it even more. It was gutless - something I never thought we'd see under Rodriguez.
So happy to hear she's on the mend! I've thought of little else all day. I met Bree last year at the Regionals and she was about the sweetest person you could ever meet. I know the softball team is very close, so I'm praying for all of them along with Bree and her family. I hope this story has a happy ending. Bree's sister: Thank you for stopping by and, if you could, please keep us updated!
Jay Hopson Word on the street last year was that his Southern Belle wife was miserable in Ann Arbor and that he was looking to head back to the deep south asap. There was speculation that his lack of enthusiasm for life up north was affecting his ability to "sell" Michigan to southern recruits. Given our ILB play and the fact that, as far as I can tell, he's recruiting exactly no one this year, I kinda wish he had found another job.
Kick this one, too, Phil! I was 40 weeks pregnant at the Washington game in '02. It was hot as hell and my husband and two friends carted about 15 bottles of water into the game for me, fearing that I would get dehydrated. My doctor didn't want me to go, but I'd been to the game at Washington and I was not going to miss our shot at redemption. I was on pins and needles the whole game and, when Brabbs trotted on the field after the day our kickers were having, well...I'm not a religious person, but I said a little prayer. Just this one time. Please. I was in section 42, so I couldn't judge accurately that the kick went through until the student section exploded. Back at the tailgate, people were shocked that the drama didn't send me into labor. I took a picture of our kicker outside the tunnel after the game. The look on his face? Well, you would have thought he just won the Super Bowl. I still treasure that win and that picture. God bless your cotton pickin' maize and blue heart, Phil. You'll be in my thoughts.
The Michigan Train is leaving the station! And it's coming for college football! If you're not ALL IN, then get the hell out. God Bless Rich Rodriguez and his cotton pickin' maize and blue heart!
How did Minor get injured again? There is something...odd...about this. Haven't we been hearing for the past few weeks that Minor has been practicing very sparingly since he was suffering headaches from his car accident? So how is it that he wound up with a bad ankle? I'm not really suggesting a conspiracy theory, but, wow, he's kind of a dainty flower, isn't he? On a totally unrelated note, what the hell is going on with the duck wings on Oregon's uniforms? There really are no words.
I love him simply for his timing! Much hand-wringing has been going on about how this will affect recruiting, so you have to love Brown for stepping up and making his declaration in the midst of this mess.
Thanks, Brian. That's all. Just thanks and Go Blue!
Brian's kicking ass! Seriously, Brian is kicking ass. I wish they'd put him on ESPN tonight. Go Blue!
My husband and I are huge My husband and I are huge swimming fans! We love to catch a meet whenever we can. I would love more frequent posts about the program - especially with regard to incoming recruits and if/how things are changing under Mike Bottom. For example, will we see more emphasis on recruiting sprinters? What becomes of the distance tradition if/when Urbanchek retires for good? I know very little about the assistant coaches. What do they bring to the table? I love that someone will be covering swimming and look forward to more posts from you in the future. Thanks and Go Blue!
