BuckeyeNation had nothing to do with the outcome that the Board of Trustees produced. I had a grandma, a Mom, I have an ex-wife, a new wife, a daughter, and a step daughter, and I’m a LEO. I vehemently do not condone DV whatsoever. Even after this report and all the information I have read, which has been everything I have access to, I still don’t know what happened at the ZS/CS household. There is much grey area in all the police reports, no charges filed, were the pictures current, were the injuries from ZS, were they defensive wounds or him protecting himself from his ex? Even if in 2009 people talked her out of filing charges, I know here in Ohio as an LEO, if she denied wanting to file charges I could pick up the charges for the State of Ohio for her safety and liability issues for the State. If I see fresh marks on either individual I could arrest them both for DV. Since no law enforcement agency did this I have to truly wonder if there was anything DV at all. The Officers job is on the line and their career, and I’m not going to lose my job over anyone, even if they are some one important.
Sorry for rambling, but I know I am disappointed with all the ZS findings and how disturbing some of those incidents, strip clubs, Amazon orders, controlled substance intervention etc they are definitely not indicative of what we expect out of our coaches. I know that him being Earle’s grandson had a part in all the chances he was allotted, but after reading all the chances he was given I even have to wonder why this guy was not fired earlier then he was.
There are things that Urban did or didn’t do that I shake my head about, but the the phone wiping is bothersome to me and not mentioning what he knew in 2009 to AD Smith, unless he thought it would show up in the background check and then he would explain, but that is shady also. Another thing I found interesting is that the Powell PD brought the 2015 incident to Gene Smith who brought it to Meyer attention. Usually a chain of command works upwards not down. I feel that Gene Smith, and a lot of BuckeyeNation feels the same way, that he is responsible and should have been fired and that might have been why Urban answered the BM question at BigTen day the way he did. But that’s the issue, nobody knows what someone else was thinking or saying with any definitive proof throughout this whole ordeal.
If Urban covered up DV I would be the first and not the only BuckeyeNation fan to want him fired. Is the suspension to him warranted, I have no idea. It could have been to appease the mighty media and the PC police so The Ohio State brand wouldn’t be as tarnished had he not been suspended. Smith should of definitely been shown the door for this incident plus other issues we are having at the institution under his watch. This has taken a toll on my excitement about the up coming season and most of BuckeyeNation knows this is a bigger issues then W-L, but we have our turds as fans also who would sweep anything under the rug to win.
One more thing, I want you to put yourself in Urban shoes at the press conference, bc I did, and he was given a sheet of paper to read by the PR department stating things that he, as the person being reprimanded, truly didn’t believe in the suspension because he thought since Gene Smith was the individual given the information and he didn’t do his due diligence and you had done the right thing, why is my name and reputation being tarnished to appease others.
Not all of BuckeyeNation is proud of this whole situation and the outcome, but BuckeyeNation has to live with the outcome and move forward and hope that some good will come out this. Have a good season and see you at The Game. Go Bucks

Would you want to read a statement from a PR staff knowing that you did the right thing but still you receive a three game suspension and after being placed on administrative leave over allegations by a washed up reporter who had an agenda to ruin your reputation. I imagine he is pissed because the only reason he is receiving this suspension is to appease the mighty media and PC police.
It’s the times we live in. If the board exonerated both Smith and UFM, what would the mighty media and PC police think. They gave them the suspension to appease them not because of wrong doing. It is a political suspension and nothing more.
This is true. Any given Saturday anyone can be beaten. I remember a certain team getting beat by Appalachian State, who was an overwhelming underdog if I remember correctly.

He is suspended for the Oregon State game all together but he may coach practices for the next two weeks but not coach the next two games.
If the committee that was hired to investigate the situation couldn’t find anymore negative info why do you think there is more out there?
The consensus at OSU was that if Meyer did report it up the chain then we felt Smith or Drake should have been fired.
