We are at Disney World…

We are at Disney World several times a year, and without the ESPN Zone (I watched the 2006 edition of The Game from there), the sad answer is that there aren't many places on property that would be a "great" spot.

Parks - straight out.

Disney Springs - you couldn't pay me to go to Disney Springs at NYE. Unless you live rowdy crowds who are a little peeved at how expensive Disney can be and not enjoying how crowded Disney is (that week is one of the most crowded weeks of the year), mixed with locals who are annoyed by tourists, I'd stay away from Disney Springs

Each of the premium hotels (save the Contemporary) have a good bar with several tvs:

Grand Floridian - the Beauty and the Beast styled one SUCKS for service, but is higher quality.

Wilderness Lodge - the bar on the bay is very good for watching

Polynesian - has the bar by the "quiet pool" which I like more than Trader Sams

Contemporary - the bar is next to Chef Mickey's and under the monorail and is a main gathering spot in the hotel.  It will be loud and a bunch of people who may annoy the crap out of you.

The biggest issue with all of these are that they are good places for fireworks and given the timing, a place people will be doing a New Year's Countdown.

Animal Kingdom Lodge - the bars by the pool are good and if you are staying there, it'd be a decent place to go.

The Vacation Club resorts usually have some gathering spots with tvs, but it can be hit or miss on what show is on and whether someone will turn on a game (I saw a UGA family LIVID that they couldn't watch the Cocktail Party because 4 kids were watching Lilo and Stitch and the Disney person was "nope, kids win."

Without knowing where you are staying, that's the best I can give you.

When I was listening to the Podcast I was surprised everyone put down the idea of Juwan as coach of the year, especially as a friend reminded me, he's taken Michigan from unranked to a Top 5 team in TWO CONSECUTIVE SEASONS.

Should probably add "for…

How is Link's Awakening? I played the original years ago. I'm on the fence buying it again.

I mowed the lawn in record time, played Octopath Traveler and then went out with my wife (about an hour earlier than we originally planned). It turned into a nice Saturday afternoon.

INVALID!
No way they would…

INVALID!

No way they would schedule a potential rematch with Norfolk State. There is no money in it.

So you are saying that out…

So you are saying that out of the two joints, the injury was to the higher risk knee or "high knee" for short?

I used to travel to Dayton

I used to travel to Dayton and Bloomington at least once a month.

My hotel in Dayton was across from the Nutter Center so I watched a bunch of Wright State games (I was a big Donlon fan before he came to Michigan). In Bloomington, I usually stayed downtown so I would get dinner out, walk the campus or catch some Indiana game. That's where I learned Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium shared a parking lot.

Never did catch Michigan in Bloomington.

ESPN Club is fine. I watched

ESPN Club is fine. I watched Football Armageddon there. Getting there from Saratoga Springs without your own car will suck.

You could also take the boat to Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) which has a TON of different bars.

Saratoga Springs unfortunately only has the one restaurant/lounge bar, which usually has ten kids clanging pool balls together and some parent who will inevitably just change the channel to Disney Jr. regardless of what is going on.

Why compete with the NFL

Make it the feeder system to the NFL. Hire college/NFL coaches, pay recruits and disrupt the college market, which is hysterically open to competition.

I'm in Bloomington for about

I'm in Bloomington for about a week a month.

Uptown is my place. Can't go wrong there. Also Bubs, which I was *thisclose* to getting my picture on the wall last time. Shouldn't have ordered fries.

I know everyone LOVES Mother Bears, but ... eh.

The Tap is great. If you get a chance, walk around campus. Extremely nice.

Henson

If you were attending Michigan between '98-01 and claim that you never said "put in Henson," you're either my old Philosophy TA who didn't "understand the concept of sports" or a damn liar.

Who is 3E and why are they

Who is 3E and why are they letting us play at their arena?

This model of playoff

This model of playoff ticketing (especially for baseball where season ticket plans are often split into many pieces)  has existed for decades.

Yes there is a risk, but it is pretty explicit (and IF - BIG IF - Michigan made the playoff, ticket prices are going to go through the roof).

At this rate, they should

At this rate, they should have waited to see if OJ gets paroled next year.

I just hope he pronounces it

I just hope he pronounces it Par-am-us instead of Para-mus

I thought I must have misheard "broadcast," but it definitely sounded like "podcast."

Did Hoke provide a "no

Did Hoke provide a "no comment" or some other statement when he declined to be interviewed?

What has been the AD staff turnover since Hackett's arrival? Have the Brandon hires left? Have former people returned?

For pro teams I try to avoid

For pro teams I try to avoid "us", but I don't mind when people use it.

For college teams (especially if you are an alumn) "us" is perfectly reasonable.  An example i if the team/university came down with some crazy flu right before a tourney game and had to field a team - guess who be playing? Some collection of students, whether it be the team managers, an IM champ team or some collection of students.

If you attended the school - you were on the depth chart.

It's amazing how many people's lives she touched throughout the years. Seriously, I was one of many, but she made it feel like when I was in that office, I was the most important.

That is a big leap, one that should help him a lot as he gets drafted into playing some center this year.

Can we refrain from using the word "drafted" when discussing any underclass basketball player? I nearly had a heart-attack.

Apologies for being THAT guy,

Apologies for being THAT guy, but I noticed on the podcast you were pronouncing it - Para-mus instead of Par-am-us and the Jersey in me had to say something.

Again, sorry.

Citing to Mike & Mike and using their nicknames must be dealt with - harshly.

This appears to be an old

This appears to be an old baseball mangerial technique. Sometime a manger when frustrated with an umpire will start screaming at the pitcher.  This way the manager doesn't "show-up" the ump (resulting in ejection), but gets his point across.

Given how RVB talks of divide in the "community", my guess is that the "fans" aren't the real target of the letter.

But they were able to

But they were able to determine if the LSU runner fumbled the ball.

It wasn't just letters to the

It wasn't just letters to the AD, they were letters PROUDLY signed by alumni with class year indicated.

Those pictures is why Brady

Those pictures is why Brady was so hated on campus. He looked like the guy on the left, but acted like he was the guy on the right.

M

They really cross out the "m" in a campus building sign?

"Less than 30

"Less than 30 seconds"?

That's some Grade-D lawyerin' right there.

I've always assumed the love came from Michigan natives who never had the good fortune to experience good deli and east eoasters so desperate for a good deli they convinced themselves giant overpriced bread bowls were the answer.
