I can't believe I'm saying I can't believe I'm saying it...Preach Colin, Preach. The thing that baffles me about Finebaum is he leave out Saban was 15-17 in the NFL. It took Saban 7 seasons to win a conference championship and a BCS game and 9 to win a national championship (counting as a power 5 coach and excluding his year at Toledo). It took Harbaugh 4 to win a BCS game (at Stanford not historical power LSU), he has a 44-19-1 record as an NFL coach. Granted Harbaugh doesn't have a power 5 conference championship nor a natty but we all know those are both coming soon rather than later.

Lift 5x a week. Start with a Lift 5x a week. Start with a good warm up (jumps, sprints, explosive movement stuff) then one sometimes two big lifts. Deadlifts and squats on leg days. Bench, overhead press, rows on upper body days. It's important to remember when your on a diet these heavy lifts are taxing on your body so you should only be pushing for above 80% of your max 1-2 a week. Then a couple super sets that correspond to upper/lower body what ever I'm doing. Oh and don't use machines they a fucking pointless.
Breakfast is 1/3 cup pineapple, 1/3 cup raspberries, 1/2 blue berries, 1 cup spinach, scoop of vanilla protein powder, fill rest with milk. Lunch lean protein source and a cup of steamed broccoli. Dinner red meat, steamed broccoli, and rice.
After you lift your body needs a 2:1 carb to protein mix.
And join some sort of athletic league outside of running/lifting. I do volleyball, soccer, and hockey in the winter

As someone who played High As someone who played High School in Wisconsin and AAA in Minnesota the talent gap between the two is stupid. Wisconsin's historical power is Superior (town name, not a statement of fact). They play in one of the single A Minnesota conferences with the smaller Duluth schools, finish about .500 and then run train on the rest of Wisconsin on their way to state.
The crazy thing about Minnesota is that while you do get some of the private schools (Benild St. Margaret's, St. Thomas Academy, Hill-Murray, Breck) that perform very well every year. The public schools have such storied traditions that kids want to play for them more than they want to play for the private schools.
In the words of one of the local sports writers, "The Iron Rangers hate the city schools, the city schools hate the private schools, and everyone hates Edina"

I'm seriously so glad to have I'm seriously so glad to have Wisconsin back on the schedule. My old lady is a Sconnie alum and I very honestly miss being able to have that rivalry year in and year out...although holding '08 over her head this long has been fantastic.

Woot!

Here already! SInce I live here I'm tailgating with my Gopher lady, our Gopher friends, and her Gopher parents before the game. It's going to a lonely tailgate so I look forward to seeing all of the other Maize and Blue  folks!

if anyone needs any ideas of what to do before the game comment below and I'll be glad to help.

Kid sounds like a beast

An old girlfriend of mine from college, who lives down there and works in some capacity with the school, was sending me some snaps of the game. All she could say was that Bredeson was absolutly massive and was easily the "meanest" kid on the field. She walked away impressed and asked me how Wisco didn't secure the kid.

I get they posted a picture I get they posted a picture of the pants but the mock up of the jersey is over the maize pants...I'd rather see that than the white pants. The idea of stripes on Michigan pants tweaks me out

Up the river about 30 minutes Up the river about 30 minutes you can check out the Effigy Mounds National Park outside of Marquette/MacGregor or the Villa Louis in Prairie du Chien, WI. My grandparents are from both towns and as a kid they would always take us to those places. Very pretty and fun for kids (while being informative).

This is a farce

This is a farce. I live in Saint Paul and went to the Mich-PSU game last year...and I thought that was empty. I was lucky enough to go to the old WCHA tournament that they always used to have at the X and they used to shut down 7th street (the adjacent street with all the bars) and have a block party for the tournament. Tickets were sold out months in advance and the rink would be packed the entire weekend. I also went to the NCHC tournament held at the Target Center last year and even with NoDak in it the Target center was still basically empty. As much as I honestly like the idea of a full B1G hockey conference on paper, this really sucks for the atmosphere of college hockey.

Seven major concussions, Seven major concussions, broken fingers, ribs, arm, collarbone, shattered my heel. More stitches than I can count, torn mcl and meniscus, but the worst was a broken toe in soccer (bear with me). I'm leading captains practices as a senior and arrive at a 50/50 at the same time as one of our underclassmen, feel a stabbing pain run up through my leg. Hobble over to the sidelines and take off my boot. My second toe is at a 45 degree angle bent in half over my other toes. Since there are no coaches there, and the underclassmen are basically worthless, I re-set it my self. Drove home and ended up playing all season and my senior hockey season on it. After hockey it's still purple and looks like a lil' smokey. Turns out the bone never healed and is rotting. They go in and take out all the bones except the one at the base and put in a 3 inch metal pin. After about 2 months they took the pin out. It is now noticeably shorter than my other toes bends whatever direction it wants and we call it Franken-toe.

I'm sorry I know some people I'm sorry I know some people hated it when DG wore ol' #98, but for my money I don't think there is anything cooler or more of a throwback than seeing that number on a QB.

So....

So everyone knows this isn't like a Marshall produced thing right? I am assuming that BR is going to be broadcasting this decision live. They put this out as an advertisement to drive views to their site from all 6 fan bases durring the event, bringing in more page views and potential ad revenue.
This is a refelction of the overall growth in the popularity of fans following the recruiting process and the cash grab from companies like BR, The World Wide Leader, and even 24/7. Not a reflection of where kids are taking this process

That being said...god I hope we get him.

I've got two coworkers who have been asking about the coaching search. One is crazy Raider and Gopher Fan (da hell?), the other is a Bears and Badger fan.
Raider/Gopher has spend weeks telling me there is no way in hell Harbaugh would come back to college. He has now spent the morning pontificating on the merits of Jerry Kill.
Bear/Badger fan said and I'm quoting here "Well I haven't seen it on ESPN so I don't think it will happen."

Me and My Buddies...

Me and my buddies do it every year. We typically start by gowing our beards all of October then each week in November we shave it into a different stache. Untill the last week we just have the old school curly stache (that has been growing for 2 months). Each of us has our own little fundraising competition and it typically goes over pretty well.
This year is a little different as my girlfriends father just started chemo for prostate cancer. We have all banded together and decided that everything we raise will be donated in his name to research.
Anyone else in the Minneapolis area that wants to raise a little money and enjoy a good time should particiapte in the Moustache Run on November 29th.

...and my buddy just ...and my buddy just whispered in my ear "hey man, you might wanna take off that michigan jersey"

I just don't get it. They I just don't get it. They preach about the support and togetherness of his team, but they sit Gardner down because of the criticism from the outside? (Also I know the turnovers have been turrrible) Damn it the kid had a bad first 4 last year but was able to turn it around against Minne. Let him do it again
Clemson is now doing it

A freshman QB at Clemson (Deshaun Watson) will wear Steve Fuller's retired #4 jersey with a special patch with Fuller's name and playing years on it.

Link

Whatever they want... The players can choose which ever of those 5 fit their personal preference. All 5 are available to wear.
Long ass week...

Can only come out of re-structuring at work one way...with a BANG!

It may be cold but....

TCF Bank is awesome. I went the game there back in '12 and it was very nice. Great sightlines, a decent amount of bars within easy walking distance. College aged kids might get harrassed a little walking down frat row but for the most part the students and fans are very respectful. Downtown is a very short cab ride away, although you can walk if you feel like freezing your toes off. Speaking of which the view of downtown, Williams Arena, and Mariucci Arean surounding the stadium are a very nice backdrop...Oh and you can buy beer there.

Camp Randall and Madison are also awesome for all the reasons others have listed.

Boss is out of the Office today

Boss lady is out of the office today...might be the perfect time to sneak away for an extended lunch, grab a beer, and watch the Parade in downtown St. Paul

That Moment when...

That moment when your boss comes in on crutches and says "Guys, I just don't really feel like doing much today and you had a great week. Who wants a half day?" and you "Jump and and yell "+1! POSBANG!!!"

The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs

The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs are the winners of the internet as well as marketing. That is who they are.

The Gloves

Any body else notice the gloves he has on?

PREACH!

And this is probably the most important thing decision Michigan has ever made about their uniforms. Seriously, I hate those damn things sooooo much.

Could be worse...

The one thing that I defiantly appreciate about the AD office and the equipment staff (or whoever makes the decision on this) is the actual adidas uniform style they wear. Despite the fact that we are the highest paid school with adidas we haven't been asked to wear the "stretch mark" uniforms and we didn't have to wear the "shrink wrap" uniforms. Other than that I mean it is aesthetics. Yeah, I think the Nike fan gear is more comfortable and would like to see Michigan wearing the Pro Combat template because IMO it just looks cleaner. But remember it could look a lot worse. Just look at any of the other adidas schools.

Like the Idea

Living in Minnesota I have watched the Bison play quite a few times, Nand I actually like this guy.

Drink Up

Drink every time Lou schleerrrsss

That damn cowbell

I really like Moe's senior highlight tape. One of those guys who are a long strider so he is deceptively fast. He also looks to really have grown into is frame. But, I don't think I hate anyone more than I hate the cowbell fan in his highlight film.

Hot Pockets for Days!!!

I have a buddy...an OSU grad...who is an engineer for Nestle. He was just transferred down to Lexington, KY to work at their HOT POCKET plant. This may or may not explain why the damn things can't have one specific temperature.

On a side note guess who has two thumbs and gets free Hot Pockets sent to them all the time?

RIP MOARfleet

God dammit the only negative I can see about Jabrill Peppers coming to AA is knowing that MOARfleet probably only has the bowl game left to get his return touchdown. There will be some part of my soul that is sad watching Peppers as the return man because deep down it knows that my favorite player on the team could never get over his shoelaces being 2 inches too long.

That being said "watches video...slobbers"

Left the other guys Speachless

Love it, that was awesome

Ha real life trolling!

I live in the Twin Cities and know quite a few people who have gone to those respective schools. They take Trolling very seriously.

Another god awful trophy from around this area is the War on I 94...Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Wisconsin-Stout started playing in 1917, but the trophy was introduced 2 years ago. Who doesn't get pumped up playing for a wooden interstate sign?

One slight problem...potentially

I think a home and home with a SEC like Georgia would be fantastic, but I fear that scheduling those games hinges on how the LSU-Wisconsin games go. SEC teams are notorious for not wanting to leave their little bubble which makes home-and-home games tough to schedule. If LSU comes up north and gets the crap kicked out of them (just a hypothetical) I think the rest of the SEC then goes all Howard Huges on us and decides it never wants to leave the bubble again. This may be made even worse when Michigan kicks the crap out of Arkansas in the Big House.
