What you did there

What you did there, I see it.

I may be a bit biased...

Since I live up here, but Traverse City, Charlevoix, Boyne City, Petoskey, Mackinac Island, all great summer vacation spots on the lake.  Lots to do, just a matter of what you're looking for in particular.

Don't forget to bring a towel.

Are we going to make it to the playoffs? No most likely not. Is it nice to be in a position to at least have the discussion? You bet your ass!

A couple weeks back he was called out for ranking Ohio state number one and basically couldn't justify why he was putting them ahead of other teams who had clearly shown more. I'd love to dig up that clip, but basically his credibility is less than zero.

I think it's important to

I think it's important to remember that kids like Clowney don't come around too often, and for players of that level, college is merely a stepping stone. That's not to say that college football doesn't matter to them, but it is merely a stepping stone for these guys.

It's also important to remember that there are 84 other scholarship players and numerous walk-ons on every team and for a majority of these guys, playing for the team and for championships are very important, because come their senior year, it's likely to be the finally time they play the game they love.

Very good read

Very good read, thanks for sharing.

They accomplished

Exactly what they wanted to with that commercial I'm guessing. People are no doubt still talking about it this morning.

I'd say pretty slim. I'm

I'd say pretty slim. I'm reading this piece as a way to take some of the heat off that they are no doubt feeling. By telling the OHIO faithful that they are still in play, they're hoping the fanbase will cool down a bit.

Yeah well Bill, let me ask

Yeah well Bill, let me ask you something.  How much time would you say you spend dealing with these TPS Reports each week?

Mmmmm....yeah....

FWIW, I'm not the one who

FWIW, I'm not the one who said he was angry...please look three posts above yours for that. My point was that I can't understand how professional athletes can jeopardize their careers with something like smoking pot. It would seem that you would have too much on the line to take a gamble like that.

And as far as your comparison - we're not really comparing students drinking underage to professionals taking illegal drugs are we? I smoked pot in college too...but guess what? As a pilot, I have to submit to random drug tests at my place of employment and therefore, no longer smoke pot.

While I can agree that there

While I can agree that there certainly are many worse things they could be doing, the fact remains that these players KNOW that if they are caught doing it, they're going to get into trouble/get fined/face suspensions.  Knowing this, why would you ever put yourself at risk like this?  It simply astonishes me and yet it continues to happen over and over again, and always will.

Case in point - Mikel Leshoure.  If you have to resort to SWALLOWING the pot you possess just to avoid getting into trouble, perhaps maybe you shouldn't be messing around with the stuff...just a thought.

Fair enough, I suppose if folks are interested in a topic, well then that's the purpose of the board.

Just finished up with the Hemlock Open at Boyne Mountain.  Two run slalom run in the morning and nine holes of golf in the afternoon.  Came prepared for the golf with a 6-pack of Oberon - felt good to swing the sticks again.

Exactly - agreed 100%.

Exactly - agreed 100%.  Assuming this is even true, this would lead me to believe that the coaches have a lot of faith in Bellomy to run the ship in the (likely) event that Denard has to come out for a period of time.  Get Gardner out wide and see what he can do.

Did you see something in

Did you see something in Gardner that I didn't see?  He didn't exactly shine while he was in the game last year.  This is by no means a knock against him, and he could actually prove to be very effective if given the keys for an extended period of time - my point is that we haven't seen anything to say that he is a huge improvement over Bellomy, who by all accounts has done a tremendous job in practice.

I could certainly see a situation where although we may take a small step back at QB with Bellomy in there, the team is ultimately more balanced if Gardner is out wide with Bellomy under center.

I really don't see the

I really don't see the coaches taking him away from the quarterback position as much as they are simply trying to find a way to get the best athletes on the field. I honestly like this denard devin combo more than what was run last year when we saw both on the field together.

BOYNE courses

If you've never golfed the BOYNE courses, I would recommend checking out The Heather and Arthur Hills courses at Boyne Highlands, and The Monument at Boyne Mountain.  Hole 13 on the Arthur Hills course offers one of the most picturesque views of any hole I've ever played.

Living up north and working at Boyne Mountain - clear skies and 70...and yes skiing still! Hope everyone is staying safe to the south.

The kid is no doubt an absolute freak of a specimen, but the thing that gets me excited is to hear about how hard he is working in high school to prepare for the next level. He has a bright future in front of him.

Not happening

This raises an interesting

This raises an interesting situation for the coaching staff. Assuming they've filled the OL recruiting needs, do you continue recruiting the other top OL on the board? Let's face it, there is still a year until NSD and a couple of these kids may have a change of heart between now and then. If that were to happen, it would be nice to still be in contact with the other guys on their board.

Either way...what a great situation to be in!

Posted on another Michigan board

I came across this earlier over on 247, a poster over there says he was in attendance reported the same thing.  Personally, I love it.
