Funny Bit of trivia: it appears GW3 is 2 inches shorter than OG GW.

Damn, Bo has reached out…

Damn, Bo has reached out from the great beyond.

I think you might find that…

I think you might find that any exercise with impact helps with bone density, therefore running actually does a lot of that as well (following from https://www.niams.nih.gov/health-topics/exercise-your-bone-health)

A combination of these types of exercise is best for building and maintaining healthy bones and preventing falls and fractures:

  • Weight-bearing exercises. These exercises produce a force on bones that makes them work harder. Examples are:
    • Brisk walking (3 to 4 miles per hour).
    • Jogging or running.
    • Tennis, badminton, ping pong, pickleball, and other racket sports.
    • Climbing stairs.
    • Dancing.
  • Resistance training exercises (weight lifting), which add resistance to movement to make muscles work harder and become stronger. These exercises put stress on bones, so they can make bones stronger as well. Strength-training exercises can involve:
    • Weight machines.
    • Free weights.
    • Resistance bands.
    • Use of your own body weight (such as pushups or pullups).
  • Balance training, which is especially important for older adults. It can improve balance and help prevent falls. Examples are:
    • Walking on an unstable surface (e.g., a foam mat or wobble board).
    • Tai chi.
    • Walking backwards.
    • Step-ups.
    • Lunges.
    • Shifting your body weight backward and forward while standing with both feet together or on one foot.
Going through this way too…

Going through this way too much in the past 3 years (Mother, FIL and then Wife) I can only offer the following; May the days ahead be peaceful. That is all that we can ask for as we provide care for loved ones as they reach the end of life.

We don't know each other, but I always read your posts when I see them because they are often well thought out and written. I hope that your days ahead are peaceful.

Slight point, Washington is…

Slight point, Washington is returning 2 of it's 22 starters. Based on the fact that they didn't even really want to run out a different running back when their starter was at "70%" (according to the announcers and quite frankly my eyes) I don't think that is a team with lots of depth. USC has to figure out defense as does UCLA. Oregon is probably the one really good team there.

This times 1 million! We had…

This times 1 million! We had an alignment which is unprecedented, and it is probably what sticks in the craw of so many people and why those people seek to find "reasons" for it, rather than just a bunch of really great dudes where things aligned for them. The coming years will not necessarily have that alignment, especially when one takes into account Michigan's reluctance to fully embrace NIL.

Nope. Sorry, I wish him happiness and success in his future, but I have other teams I like much better.

Honestly, has any Michigan football team ever epitomized that statement more than team 144?

Not creative, I know.

It's Oktoberfest time. First of 5 weeks in a row. I play in an oompah band and our first stop is Watermark Brewing in Stevensville. We get done at 6 so I will be home close to kickoff! Great day I get to play Alphorn, Trumpet, drink beer and watch U of M!

I went there late Feb, (was…

I went there late Feb, (was in Munich for Fat Tuesday). I felt the Augustiner Keller was the better beergarten. The locals go there from what I have been told (by locals).

It'll be on the radio. No…

It'll be on the radio. No worries for me. Plus the girlfriend's son is getting married that day. Not like I would have had much chance to watch anyway.

Only Florida is an AAU…

Only Florida is an AAU member. And one wonders with changes occurring in the state of Florida if that will continue. Without that it doesn't matter what US News and World Report ranks them.

I do not disagree with you…

I do not disagree with you at all. I love it as a college sport. It is just not that currently. I think the NFL needs it's own minor league. Then college sports can get back to being about college.

It will be interesting if…

It will be interesting if the Florida schools can maintain the academic standing necessary.

Sadly as the unsupported…

Sadly as the unsupported minor league to the NFL college football is just like the NFL. We are just finally seeing the changes to make it line up with what it is. All of the other major sports allow their players to literally spend no more than a year in college or less if they just want to go pro. Only in the NFL was there no actual way to earn money legally and pursue what one truly wanted to do. The college education is definitely useful for some, but I wonder how many would rather just play football and get paid?

Baseball is more pure, but there's very little money there in college, (which makes it more pure).

Can Sean even see the plays on the field?

My first ever classical…

My first ever classical music concert and concert on the U of M campus, was in 1988 when Leonard Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic came to Hill Auditorium. I was in the MMB for one year, (only a reserve). But the night before was the Band-o-Rama. Members of the Vienna Phil. were in the front row of the balcony at Hill. Very cool. So me being rather ignorant of how things would work planned on getting down their for rush tickets at like 6 am. The rush tickets were only $10 for the very special 75th Anniversary of Hill and 70th birthday of Leonard Bernstein.

So to continue, my RA on 2nd Hamilton, Bursley had secured one of the 2 VCRs to show a couple of Monty Python movies for my hall. I couldn't go, but I asked if I could borrow it to watch with my new good friend and his buddy. RA said sure, so we watch the Holy Grail. At the end the other two guys say, well we're off to the belltower (around 1:30 am) to get in line. I go, really, they say, yeah... you want tickets you need to wait out all night. We arrive and are 15, 16 and 17th in line. Got the tickets and saw an amazing concert.

The pieces included Beethoven's Leonore, Bernstein's Halil and then Prelude Fugue and Riffs with the Vienna Phil. broken down to a big band and finally Brahms 4th. Absolutely incredible!

So I agree with what you suggest.

My son leaves to study abroad in Germany on September 11. Due to my wife passing in May, I will be in a a totally empty nest. I'm super happy for my son, (and it's his 3rd year anyway) but it will be a bit quiet around the house.

What do you say when you are…

What do you say when you are sitting next to your wife who is home under hospice care and you have no family around. It is great reading so many good things but this is the worst time of my life. She is more and more confused and weaker and man is it tough. 100% bed bound as well with all that entails. BPONE is fully going here.

Overall average. One season…

Overall average. One season doesn't make or break a reputation. It is the totality of the work. I am not sure that Michigan can or will be relevant year over year in top tier of college football. I think it can happen every once in a while. Last year was fun. Next year will be okay, but I think that Harbaugh's way of leaving (or even not leaving) will damage recruiting after that.

So why average, because I think what Harbaugh did with the way Michigan plays the game of college football administration is about what one could expect. Some better, some way worse.

OSU doesn't come to play school and I don't think MSU does either. Michigan still does come to play school.

With an enthusiasm unkn... blah blah blah... In zero g is the correct answer. I think that was a deleted scene in the Expanse.

50 in 6.80 seconds or 40 yard time of 5.45. How many fakes out of 5?

(No way I could even sniff that time... to old and to much training running longer. So I'd get 6 fakes out of 5!)

It is both good and bad to…

It is both good and bad to be old I guess. I have seen much worse. (114-63 2000). So while this isn't good, that was horrible with little hope and several years before it got much better.

Those announcers, wow you can tell we're on the BIG network at an off time. Not good.

I just hope that the Rams…

I just hope that the Rams can somehow comeback from the mental anguish of the vicious taunting at the hands of Suh. And I hope the officials can somehow overcome that horrible argument from the guy with a bleeding lip. That kind of activity is just not something we can handle in the NFL. I hope all get the counseling they need.

Great throw by Stafford, con job by the refs...

I didn't say he was an…

I didn't say he was an asshole. I really wanted to know what one might be interested in with the changes that are coming. It won't be major college sports, and most of the major olympic sports are full of money as well. The amateur train has left the station.

If Michigan doesn't get on board they will not be seriously competitive.
