11/26/2018 - 4:59pm Purdue, Iowa and MSU catch…

Purdue, Iowa and MSU catch OSU looking beyond them. Michigan never will catch OSU looking past them. I agree with the original poster... Michigan will struggle to compete with the elites as long as Michigan chooses to not debase itself. Michigan won't keep wife beating coaches, pedophiles, pedophiles (had to say that twice since two of our rivals embraced that... ) murderers, coaches who send GA's up to in a windstorm, bagmen, hookers... pretty impressive..  The one time we embraced that we suffered for years and years (as we should have).

I for one had embraced the idea we would be good not super at the start of the year. Optimism and love of the university busted through that as this year went on. I should have known better. Hopefully I will keep that in mind. Enjoy the games that Michigan plays in and hope that our rivals suffer down the road.

11/26/2018 - 2:34pm It is wrong... just like…

It is wrong... just like having to compete with universities where the people in charge let coaches who are wife beaters and order in thousands of dollars of sex toys to be delivered to the office is wrong. Having to compete against universities that let pedophiles do their thing for years and suffer no real consequence. Like having to compete against universities that have bag men and prostitutes etc. and so forth.

If he can get the money legally and not besmirch the name of the University of Michigan I'm all for it. Much of our competition out there can't say that. If all of those things weren't happening, then maybe I might agree with you. It is all about money these days.. about fat cats getting lots of money of the playing of the meat out on the field. That is all that offensive lineman was to Urbz at the end of the game when they kept trying to score while up 30 points. Meat. Well Rashan decided to officially charge for that in the future. I say go get paid young man! I'm sure his teammates understand and support him.

11/25/2018 - 3:55pm Well then why doesn't he…

Well then why doesn't he just sit there and say nothing... it would be just a damn useful. I realize that it's a requirement that he sit for these... just say nothing... rather than that crap answer...Is it relevant that he did not even try to answer the question given to him.

Was it a bad question? I don't think so.. I think we would all like the answer to that question. So it wasn't a bad question... then he should either give a real answer or just sit there and say nothing. He could have said.. "That's a good question. I don't know." But instead he treated the media like shit for asking a reasonable question. That is a shitty way of acting and I think it's reasonable to expect more from a representative of the University of Michigan.

11/25/2018 - 10:29am Here's an answer: While our…

Here's an answer: While our defense practiced well I and the coaching staff did not prepare them properly. I thought our practice went well, our guys worked hard, but I and the coaching staff did not do the job necessary. As we move forward through the bowl game I will address this, and for next year we will look at what changes we can make to give the team the best opportunity to win their game. (If that's what Jim means by taking responsibility)

Answer number 2: As a team myself, the coaching staff and the players did not give the appropriate respect due to our opponent and it showed on the field. (If that is what happened.)

I am pretty sure he knew whether answer number 1 or 2 was correct midway through the 3rd quarter. In no case is he throwing an individual under the bus, he is putting the blame on the group that was responsible always leading with the staff.  It is a correct answer with honor. Not this bs, non-answer.

11/25/2018 - 10:21am Burn it all and move away…

Burn it all and move away from the god-awful we're Michigan we're gonna out execute you style of "pro" offense.

11/25/2018 - 8:35am While there was improvement…

While there was improvement this year, beating teams with a final winning record, no one could say that the competition in the BIG was really that strong. There is one pretty darn good team, and a couple of decent teams and a whole lot of garbage.

So serious question: Given that there has been no improvement against the great teams, what should be our expectation?

I agree that getting rid of Coach Harbaugh will set the program back, but what is the ceiling with Harbaugh? Has the team reached it? It feels like it to me. 10 wins, beat our instate rival 50% of the time, occasionally compete for a BIG East title, while not actually pulling it off.

11/25/2018 - 8:28am I would guess he gives zero…

I would guess he gives zero f*&*s, and was just as shell shocked as everyone else. I believe they all thought they would win.. not get run off the field and turned into a laughing stock. But hey he takes responsibility. I'd like to know what that means... I always love that comment. I take full responsibility. I wish someone had followed up with, so what does that mean coach that you take full responsibility, what does that look like?

Blah... remember Bump was 8-2 in his final season, losing 50-14. He thankfully decided to move on.

This! I have said this so many times.. yeah Indiana and Michigan... waves tiny flag... Honestly the Big East wins the Fulmer Cup lifetime achievement award.

10/30/2018 - 9:19am Actually, as a practicing…

Actually, as a practicing internal auditor, the audit function should report directly to the audit committee of the board of directors with dotted line for approval of administrative expenses to the President of the University. If the audit department reports to the president they lose a measure of independence.

I have seen compliance and audit operate together, but that was in a healthcare setting where the primary focus of that compliance group was medical billing compliance with the various insurers. So not a true compliance function and also not actually a control.

They way to understand this (and this isn't for the poster to whom I am replying as I think the poster gets it) is that compliance is actually a control and audit must be independent from control functions to be able to opine on them. Think of it this way, if you set something up and then are asked to opine on it, shockingly you will probably think it's pretty awesome.

By combining these two functions there really isn't any way that audit can independently opine on them at MSU. That isn't to say it can't work, it is to say that the independence is compromised and if issues arise there is no way to trust that the assurance functions will operate properly.

10/20/2018 - 3:47pm Who's got it better than us?…

Who's got it better than us? Ummm, mostly our rivals.

09/18/2018 - 8:32am It is simple, the powers…

It is simple, the powers that be don't care about the Brians and the Bandos any more. They assume that the lemmings will keep coming and the big donors will keep donating to get the amenities. So what can we do? Either keep taking it, or stop going. I am on the stop going bus. It is air conditioned and comfortable and has unlimited seating. Come on and join me.

09/05/2018 - 8:47am Worst 18 game stretch 10-8,…

Worst 18 game stretch 10-8, only a bit better than Harbaugh's current 9-9. Of course that also included a 24-21 victory over OSU in 83. (Just outside of that worse 18 game stretch was the 42-0 beat down of MSU earlier in 83). Similar to Harbaugh getting MSU just outside of his current 18 game stretch.

So yeah if the current crop had actually beat a rival in that 18 game stretch, it would be more comparable. Of course that is the very worst section of Bo's career. In his 16th season. Not his 4th.

That's' where I'm at... my wife was watching it with me and said.. hey you can yell a bit.. if it's too much I'll just head back upstairs, don't hold back on my account. (We finished the basement late last year). I was like.. nah.. I just don't have it anymore. I embrace the fact that we don't kill players.. or put up with pedophiles.. rapists... wife beaters.. but then you have to listen to Mike Tirico, also noted sex offender.. basically be a ND slappy and it's like.. whatever... embrace the suck. It's fine, everything's fine.

My favorite comment from the ESPN Article: http://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/24523562/michigan-state-says-cleared-violations-larry-nassar-scandal-ncaa

Lindsey Lemke, a former captain of the Michigan State gymnastics team, said Klages ignored her concerns about Nassar in the fall of 2016 and had the team sign a sympathy card for the former team doctor after he was fired.

"It's a good thing there are multiple other investigations going on other than [the] NCAA, where hopefully they will be able to reveal more truth of how this situation got to be as bad as it did," Lemke said to WLNS and later to ESPN on Thursday. "If the world's worst pedophile in history working at MSU and getting away with abuse for 20 years isn't considered a violation, then what is the point?"

That pretty much sums it up.

People are saying this is a Title 9 issue. Can one of the MGoLawyers or MGoCompliance folks help me understand this. I read over some Title 9 stuff and it seems it covers students, not wives of employees. Am I missing something about this horrible act?

Filed under "cool story bro..." Dave was one of my really good friends in college, stood with me in my wedding and has always been one of the good guys. A visit to the CVGA is always fun.  And they do have an Intellivision II sonofalegend!

I love how Michigan fouls and gets hit in the face.

02/08/2018 - 1:39pm Bill Johnson 1984

In 1984, the US had a crazy downhiller named Bill Johnson, my name. I was 12, no American had ever won a gold in downhill, and he skated like a mad man to win.  I watched on tape delay that evening and cheered like a madman. That was a great sports year for me as the Tigers finished it off right.

01/31/2018 - 5:06pm Brandon as Regent

Here's the scary thing... according to John U. Bacon, Brandon was considered a great regent. He was a team player, etc. It seems like when he gets into power it goes to his head. And he's the CEO type that Howes is calling for, (be that good or bad).

I think luck is part of it, but it's also who is interested. They get George Perles... we get Mark Bernstein and Denise Illitch. We get folks who get it, thankfully.

01/02/2018 - 2:23pm Don't have memories of cleats

Sorry dude.. but I did toss off 1650 miles running last year.. (yeah me waves tiny flag). So instead of focusing on the past, I'll focus on the future. I loved Brian's post because whatever. We can write a 10,000 word opus on what's going on with Michigan football and most of it will be conjecture since our name isn't Harbaugh or Drevno. They know what's going on, they just don't talk much, so whatever. We get answers from the coach that are basically meaningless platitudes; so whatever. Don't get me wrong he doesn't owe most of us anything, but in the reverse he shouldn't expect much back, so whatever. It's football, yesterday was a tire fire, as was most of the last season. It will either be better next year or not. there's not a damn thing we can do about it.

So forgive me if I choose to focus on things not football, that are important on the way to the grave. This team often either couldn't or didn't seem to give two hoots about quality, and I'm not going to waste more time on it than I have.

01/02/2018 - 12:34pm This has been something I've said:

I don't belive that Michigan is willing to do what it takes to be a program that competes for the National Championship, and I'm good with that. I'd like to think our University is better than that. Better than the bagmen, the steroids, the hookers, the lack of real classes. I'm okay with that, and I always will be. I'm not okay with a lack of preparation.

01/02/2018 - 12:29pm How about this at the moment... who would sign on for this.

11-2, 11-3, 7-6, 13-1, 11-2, 12-2, 3-9, 10-3? Can Michigan Football aspire to that level?

01/01/2018 - 3:50pm Next Season

Time to concentrate on football and nothing else.

04/11/2017 - 1:30pm Nope

They already punished Kalamazoo College.. no reason to go after NC now...

Yes that's right. K College:

Cuz, you know making a mistake on paperwork, is so much worse than academic fraud.

03/30/2017 - 10:33am Two good tips I got.

One, when making up the baby's bed layer the fitted sheets mattress protector. That way if the baby makes a mess, pull of the first layer of sheet mattress protector and there is the next one. Makes the process fly at 130 am. My wife gave me so many kudos for that one.

The other one was that if the baby is asleep in the car seat bring the whole thing in and let sleeping babies lie.

03/18/2017 - 5:14pm Go Big 10!

We did not find them as enjoyable... to each his own... but I believe all but evil people can agree on the joy of the Basketball team!

03/10/2017 - 1:54pm I hope Thompson will recover from that vicious foul....

Fuck the refs...FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK THE FUCKING REFS (following the whisle...)

03/10/2017 - 1:45pm They are super tired... too much standing around

I think the whole experience is showing today, like one other poster noted yesterday it would... (not me.. I just remember someone posting that we'd see the issue on day 2)

03/10/2017 - 1:37pm Can't buy a shot...

Wrong day for the whole team to be cold...
