06/14/2018 - 8:57pm Hey. Yeah! I did it/still…

Hey. Yeah! I did it/still kind of do it. I used it to lose about 45 lbs over the course of 6 months or so. Probably the most important thing to remember is electrolytes. Get some "low sodium" salt, since it's about half sodium and half potassium. Ground beef, bacon, and chicken thighs (skin on) will be your best friends. I know of some people who have trouble maintaining ketosis while consuming dairy so you might want to try going without cheese or heavy cream to begin with, but you can slowly work it in and see what happens. I use MyFitnessPal just to loosely keep track of my macros, and remember, protein is a goal, fat is a limit, if you consume enough fat to keep you full and not hit the number you don't need to struggle to put down more fat. This keto calculator will give you a pretty decent basic starting point for your macros. Also, I don't know if you reddit or not but r/keto is a pretty active community. They have a guide for beginners in the side bar, too.

I don't know if you're talking about down in Texas on I-10 or up in New Mexico by Ruidoso, but either way no, I have not. I'm looking to get away from Guadalupe one of my weekends and hopefully up towards Alamogordo or somewhere near there and I might check it out.

04/25/2018 - 11:18am Carlsbad Caverns/Guadalupe Mtns.

As a current employee of both these parks I gotta give 'em a shout out. Guadalupe Mountains NP is great if you're in to backcountry hiking. It also contains the state high point for Texas. And being quite far away from cities gives you some great sky watching during the night.

03/19/2018 - 1:03pm Directv

Well some very brief searching on Tvguide has helped me find that if you can find a bar, hotel, or someplace that has Directv the game can be watched no problem. Seeing that you will be in the capital and one of the largest cities on the islands at the time I can't imagine it would be too hard. Tvguide tells me the channel will be 216.

02/27/2018 - 5:37pm I have always been curious

I have always been curious about why college uses halves but both HS (at least when I was in school) and NBA use quarters. I wouldn't mind seeing all levels use the same timing standard.

But I think from top to bottom the best games will come from group D.

Also, what is the point of the FIFA rankings anyway? I've always hated them.

Did anyone see that WVU QB's hand? Shit was nasty.

11/16/2017 - 12:18am Bosscast

Step 1. Download uBlock Origin

Step 2. Go to

Step 3. Find link for game, this may be easier if you adjust the timezone at the top of the schedule page. Or just Ctrl+f.

Personal note: I have found bosscast to be the most reliable of the streaming sites I've used over the years. Even with uBlock I do still sometimes have popups to close. Also make sure any anti-virus software you're running is up to date. I've never had any problems.

11/11/2017 - 9:15pm I mean, if we just put it in

I mean, if we just put it in the hoop more than the other team good things will happen, right?

11/11/2017 - 9:09pm Box Score

So I just briefly checked the box score on ESPN and saw that they have turned it over ~twice as much as we have (20-8) and we had, at the time, 15 assists on 23 made shots...but were only like 23 of 55 from the floor or something ridiculous. At the risk of sounding Madden-esque it seems as if everything is going great, we just need to hit our shots.

08/11/2017 - 2:56pm Los Luna

According to Wikipedia it is indeed named after the Luna family, and in spanish the plural of a family name is preceded by los, hence Los Luna...and since Americans can't seem to handle the lack of an s at the end of things that are plural we kinda just tossed one on there and it became Los Lunas.

05/18/2017 - 11:02pm Hey so I know this might seem

Hey so I know this might seem kind of weird, but as a yooper currently living in Montana I was wondering where you're from/where in Montana you're living, if you're comfortable sharing that information? Also curious if you have a sweet spot where you watch games? Also, I hope I read that right and you're a yooper in montana and not a...montanan in the u.p.

05/16/2017 - 9:18am I actually think homeless

I actually think homeless driven rickshaws could work out. They know the cities quite well, and it would give them some way to earn money without just hanging out on the corner.

04/21/2017 - 1:43pm Yes

04/21/2017 - 10:15am I personally don't really

I personally don't really think he's a great fit in the NBA, but could see him succeding in a backup role mostly for two reasons,

1. I think he is a much better passer than Burke

2. I think he is better at creating shots for himself

Now bear in mind I really have no statistical analysis to back this up, merely my own observations from watching both of them play

04/21/2017 - 7:57am Sorry, I should've known

Sorry, I should've known there would be confusion, with the spring game and all the QB talk recently. I won't let it happen again.

03/20/2017 - 4:00pm Charles Barkley

To be fair, Charles Barkley was a dominant PF at 6'6". I mean, I'm not calling Livers the next Barkley or anything, and I know the game was different when he played, but it just goes to show that height isn't everything.

03/19/2017 - 2:53pm I appreciate him.

I appreciate him.

01/07/2017 - 3:13pm Food

I'm pretty sure the mark of a good chef would be the ability to make good dinner out of whatever ingredients you give him. It's all about ingenuity and making things work. So I mean, I get what you're trying to say but the metaphor doesn't really work.

Unless you mean literal shit, then yeah.

10/28/2016 - 1:34am Calel

I can't be the only one who noticed his name, right? Just slightly different from Kal-el...ya know, Superman?

10/25/2016 - 7:41pm That was an awesome

That was an awesome breakdown. I find it funny that it took me about 15 minutes to read and understand all of that when it only took them about 5 seconds to score on that play. Amazing.

10/25/2016 - 9:47am Wish the Pistons had room on

Wish the Pistons had room on the roster for him, I think he would make a great SVG big man. Other than that, yeah, I hope he lands on his feet somewhere. As a former avid marijuana smoker myself I can say that even though it may not be "addictive" in the traditional sense, it is still a tough habit to kick.

10/22/2016 - 7:49pm I really like his game. Makes

I really like his game. Makes good cuts, attacks holes with power. Good balance. It really is pretty awesome having him as part of a four-headed rushing attack. Hopefully Evans is back next week healthy and ready to play, too!

06/22/2016 - 7:18pm Remember MMMbop?

So I was going down nostalgia road the other day and was listening to mmmbop for some reason (cause it is a catchy song, ya know?) and I found out that Hanson is still a band and they are still making music. They have some pretty decent new stuff. If you're curious check out Get the Girl Back off of their most recent album Anthem, or Thinking 'Bout Something from the album Shout It Out. It's a little poppy, a little rocky, but also a little funky. They've got some horns and stuff.

Also San Fermin. They're weird, but make some decent music if you're into kinda slower stuff with some dark themes and creepy music. Their male singer has a very deep voice that kinda reminds me of the Crash Test Dummies, and their lead female singer has a pretty impressive range. If you want a friendly song from them listen to Jackrabbit from their recent album of the same name, if you want weird creepy dissonant baroque style music then listen to pretty much anything else from them. They also put on a kickass live show. So see them if they're coming to your town.

Edit: Creepy sounds a little off-putting, so instead I'd like to describe San Fermin's music as "hauntingly beautiful".

06/07/2016 - 7:17pm Would've really liked to see

Would've really liked to see Castillo come in at LB (yes I know he isn't great) so we could push Fabian up on the wing.

Maybe toss Nagbe in the middle with Jones and Bradley and push Bedoya out to the other wing and scarifice Dempsey in the middle so that Wood could play at his more natural position.

Have Dempsey come in around the 65th minute and give us something off the bench instead of running around up top with hardly any service all game.

Edit: so it would look like

 Bedoya                      Johnson

Just imagine Jones and Bradley kind of staggered a little more.

05/26/2016 - 6:55pm As an avid soccer fan I can't

As an avid soccer fan I can't help but mention Taylor Twellman. He's terrible. If I catch a game that he's doing commentary for I'll mute it and listen to music or something. I actually ended up watching a random spanish broadcast of the U.S. game last night.

05/04/2016 - 12:02pm I mean, SMU is pretty damn

I mean, SMU is pretty damn good. They weren't in the tourney because of sanctions, but they probably would've made it to the sweet 16. Not to mention they beat the shit out of us. Twice. Negative Nancy

05/01/2016 - 7:23am I mean it probably won't be a

I mean it probably won't be a goal fest or anything, but it will be an exciting atmosphere just because what can happen if Leicester win. Or even if they draw. Or lose. Depending on the outcome of the Chelsea v Tottenham match tomorrow. Although if Leciester's last game is any indication it very well could be a goal fest. I haven't really answered your question at all, I'm afraid. If you're awake you should probably just have it on the tv, even if it's just in the background.

04/26/2016 - 2:54pm FC

FC=Football Club. I know some teams like Bayern Munich also have other sports in their larger sports club organizations so I think they used it back in the day to denote the football team.

Edit: After some light research it seems that, interestingly, FC Bayern Munich is the full name of the entire sports club, so for instance their professional basketball team might actually go by the same name? I don't know. Real Madrid C.F. (club de futbol) is also the blanket name for the Real Madrid organization as well, so it might be that football is their most popular and most financially viable of the sports so they go with that.

I like it. Better than "The Detroit Motor City Racers" or something stupid like that.

04/26/2016 - 1:49pm Name

They could just name the team Detroit. Detroit City. I don't know, I never really understood the point behind team names, especially in professional sports where there is normally only one team in a city/area. Like Los Angeles Galaxy. Stupid name. New York Red Bulls. Why is the team named after the sponser/owner of the club? That would be like calling Man U the Manchester Glazers, or Manchester General Motors (their current shirt sponser). I know they have their own nickname (Red Devils) but that isn't what they're called on the calendar or anything. You don't see Red Devils vs Foxes on the schedule for this weekend, you see Manchester United vs Leicester. I just went on a stupid tangent/rant and for that I apologize. I still think they should just be Detroit. Or Detroit FC. Or Detroit SC. Something simple. If it ever happens. Side note; the NPSL team has the right idea (Detroit City FC).

Doesn't Wild Wild West have a scene with some kind of rocket bike? I know it isn't really wild west themed but I is in the name. Also, I'm sorry I made you think of that movie.

Tonight I'm drinking some St. Ambrose Cherry Amore Mead. It's good. A little sweeter than I prefer, but it isn't like drinking straight honey or anything. And I have no boss to bitch about, cause I'm currently unemployed. Hooray for seasonal work!

01/31/2016 - 1:33pm Yeah but with Caris back we

Yeah but with Caris back we could slide him to the three, with a MAAR and Walton backcourt and give Robinson a break, or use him to give Irvin a break. Then we could use Kam and DJ less, which would be a plus, since whenever one of them comes in we don't score. It's not just depth, but also having the best players on the floor.

01/27/2016 - 8:12pm Very nice. One more shameless

Very nice. One more shameless plug. Head to the Vierling on Front st. (I used to work there), they have some decent food, but their beer is damn delicious. Skip the popular blueberry wheat, unless you're into that, and go for the red ale. They also usually have a pretty good selection of 2 or 3 rotating batches in addition to their 6 usuals.

01/27/2016 - 7:47pm Yeah, always glad to get more

Yeah, always glad to get more people on the Blackrocks train! I know for a fact that it is available as far south as GR (obviously) but I don't know about anything south or east of here. Of course it's always better from the tap, so just take a trip up to Marquette!

01/27/2016 - 7:13pm It's a pretty standard brown

It's a pretty standard brown with a hint of coconut. Not too overwhelming. One of my favorite beers, I'd have to say.

I'm about to head across the street and grab some Blackrocks Coconut Brown. It's nice to be able to find a hometown brew in the big city of Grand Rapids.

01/20/2016 - 10:40am Doubles

I really wasn't too upset with most of the d in this game because I knew Iowa would score. That being said I was pretty upset about those times when we tried to double someone and completely messed that up and left an open guy down low for an easy lay-up. I'm pretty sure those open shots when we miscommunicated on the double pretty much add up to the final margin of our loss. Not to say they wouldn't have found another way to score on those posessions, but we could've made it at least a little tougher for them to do so.

01/13/2016 - 12:47am Refs

What I want to know is how they called that clean strip of Stone by Robinson a foul. Sometime in the second half...maybe 6 or so minutes left? They showed a replay and Duncan got all ball while Stone was going up but the refs called it, I'm glad that bs didn't cost us the game.

Click is the movie you're thinking of. Or not trying to think of.

01/05/2016 - 9:53pm OOOh then we can add Penn

OOOh then we can add Penn State, cause they're usually a pretty good football team. Hard nosed. Good linebackers. But since it would be uneven we would have to add another team...why not Nebraska? They've had some success on the gridiron. Suck on that Big 12!
