|05/10/2018 - 4:28pm||At least Pipoen was drafted||
From a small school no less and took a couple of years under Jordan to become the player he was. Jordan didn't ask to get traded to the Celtics and have Magic come also.
|04/09/2018 - 7:20pm||Right on!||
Elk Rapids is awesome. Can't beat it from May to October if you ask me.
|03/19/2018 - 11:00pm||Maybe not a good idea||
but I'm not talking all game. I meant for short spurts so UM could match up defensively for spurts.
|03/19/2018 - 4:55pm||Twin tower time?||
I'd like to see some of Wagner and Teske on the floor at the same time.
|02/05/2018 - 7:25pm||Maybe so then.....||
I don't care who it is as long as they produce. I guess I'm hoping with a better offense that we have 3 very capable guys. I'm sure a lot was on Peters, but I don't think the game plans helped.
|02/05/2018 - 11:17am||Patterson's offense?||
Don't be so quick to hand it to him just yet. You may be getting a bit ahead of yourself.
|02/01/2018 - 10:08pm||Let the air out way too early||
You can't stop playing and ending up with horrible opportunities at the buzzer. Play your game.
|11/19/2017 - 12:47pm||Here we go again||
Maybe Rich Rod is available. Harbaugh has this program going in the right direction. Next season will be great and the depth will be built. It will be to the reloading point instead of rebuilding.
|11/15/2017 - 3:56pm||This worked for me also.||
Put it in the freezer.
|09/12/2017 - 10:08pm||So all of those commentators||
that say that is a "coverage sack" are full of it?
I would think if the intention was to pass at anytime, it should be a sack.
|04/16/2017 - 8:43pm||what?||
Why does everyone get on WD? He provides great information and loves UM athletics. So do I.
|02/04/2017 - 8:36am||Already need a new coach||
Sorry, glad JP got lax to a D1 level, but he is a horrible coach at that level. They will never be good with him at the helm.
|12/01/2016 - 7:59pm||This team is horrible||
Really bad in all phases.
|11/02/2016 - 4:45pm||good point||
I forgot about the PI, so 15 yards either way.
|11/01/2016 - 9:40pm||Thoughts on the Wormley penalty / targeting review?||
In my opinion, the fact that the official called roughing the passer, he could have only thought that it might have been a targeting but wasn't sure. Figured the booth would decide.
But if it wasn't targeting, I don't even see a roughing the passer out of that. He took maybe two steps which I think you get, and then pulled up and didn't even knock the QB down.
Does anyone think that called for a roughing the passer penalty? Just curious on others thoughts. Thought is was a bogus call myself.
|12/08/2015 - 7:14am||Need 8||
go to 8 conferences with 10 teams per. play everyone in your conference for apples to apples scheduling. champ goes to playoff seeded by a committee where high seed is home the first round. forces nd to join a conference. other teams can play their bowls.
|12/03/2014 - 2:19pm||That guy must be brilliant, so he's saying||
that Schiano, was offered by Bill Martin, and then UM went through Dave Brandon, and now that we have even another AD, that Hackett is thinking along the lines of what Bill Martin may have offered because after turning it down and thinking about it again, he really wanted the job?
Excuse me if I call B.S.
|11/05/2014 - 10:34am||Lloyd Carr's last game, against Florida in the bowl game.||
That is the offense I want to see. Single back, out of the gun or under center, spread them out. From this formation and variations of, you can run the ball against a spread out defense, and throw the ball. You can throw the ball downfield, mid-range passes or screens. This was the one game that season that made all U of M fans ask where in the heck was that offense all year?!!!!! It doesn't need a quarterback that run's all over the place, as this offense was led by Chad Henne.
|07/07/2014 - 9:52am||As Charles Woodson once said||
As Charles Woodson once said, "Why not just win them all?"
|06/16/2014 - 11:07am||Charles Woodson is a good example of a good leader||
I remember Lloyd Carr talking about the 1997 season and saying the team was trying to come up with goals for that season. After some time deliberating, he said Charles Woodson, a guy who rarely says anything, stood up and said "why don't we just win".
From that day forward, everyone on that team took it to another level, and if someone was loafing, they were told about it. They said if Charles was going 1 vs 1 in a drill, and the guy he was going up against was not giving full effort, he would tell him about it.
Basically, if the WR he was going against was going less than 100%, how was he to prepare himself to go up against guys that were going to give 100% on Saturday.
So, Charles was not a person who said a lot, but when he did, people listened because he was respected. So either those teams are missing leadership, or the leadership is coming in the form that people aren't going to take to it.
Somebody on this team, that is a hard worker and well respected, needs to step up and get everyone on the same page. Hopefully we'll see that this coming season.
|05/05/2014 - 1:51pm||Here is my question about youth and football recruiting||
So, RRod recruited guys who didn't stick. Hoke has recruited guys that appear to be sticking around. That has left for some small recruiting classes in 2014 and 2015, and left the team with a small number of upper classmen.
If they keep filling classes to the max, will they ever get out of this cycle? Meaning that in 2017 and 2018 it is very possible that we have very few juniors and seniors again. Hopefully they'll be more useful juniors and seniors, and I guess they'll be guys on the lines with red-shirts in front of them.
Am I worrying about something I don't need to worry about?
|01/28/2014 - 8:46am||If Appling's wrist is so bad||
If Appling's wrist is so bad, maybe they shouldn't have him slapping on the hardwood when it's really a senseless act.
Edit: Sorry, now that I read through all the posts, I see this was already brought up.
|12/27/2013 - 8:36am||I do not like Adidas||
I do not like Adidas. If I shop for something as simple as a new M hat, I don't like them. I don't care who UM has for gear, but I really don't like the fan gear provided by Adidas. I'd prefer they go back to Nike or UA.
|07/09/2012 - 7:48pm||Ran into a few guys of note....||
I was stuck in O'Hare airport for a delay so I was just walking around when a plane was unloading. Julius "Dr. J." Irving walks off. He was my favorite player so I went up to him and told him so. He said thanks and shook my hand, then I got a picture with him.
The second one was when I was golfing with my dad up at The Bear in Traverse City. On 9th hole, a par 3, this twosome waves us through. We hit up and they putt out while we are driving to the green. As we walk by I notice one of the guys is Stevie Y. They waited at the halfway house getting some drinks (non-alcoholic) and we stop to also get some drinks and I talked to him for a while. He ended up signing my score card since that was really all I had. My boys played hockey so we talked about that a little bit.
I also ran into Hubie Brown on an airplane, just said hi to him and he gave me a wave back.
