05/22/2018 - 12:40pm Torn between...

Schoenle

Oliver Martin

McCaffery

Eubanks/Gentry (I think one or other is set to explode-in a good way)

And never bet against a Glasgow when sleeper is in the line.

04/04/2018 - 9:00am It’s the national championship game man...

Did you see the big ten tourney? Guy dominated and basically won the Purdue game by himself when Other disappeared.

04/04/2018 - 8:56am This is asinine

If you measure production by ppg you are essentially and Xbox player playing Monday evening quarterback. X took that spot this year and ran the show. He is not a three point shooter and his fg shooting must improve but he is going to be be one of the best pgs in league next year the way he penetrates, plays d, distributes and manages game.

We were often better with Teske in the game the second half of the season. I attended big ten tourney and expect to see that guy more and more. His finals game was a little too big for him but again, that is Monday morning qb’ing one game.

Love the new guys but benching a guy that lead you to national championship game for a freshman DD (who I think plays lay a small Hs?) is hilarious.

03/22/2018 - 11:30pm Totally agree

With this. Was thinking same thing. Was totally sure about the team even then too. Then they just went off against a hot team.

Shows what a peaking Beilein team can do. wow. Total dominance.

Confidence carried through to next couple games back then. Hope it happens again here!

03/20/2018 - 12:35pm I love Mo

But he needs about 10-15 of good muscle, he needs to consistently perform and he needs to improve his decision making. This tourney has shown all Mt his weaknesses, while big ten tourney showed his strengths. I think he could take it to the next level for sure but I am not sure if his next level of development is best had in college or at the end of an nba bench getting beat up by sick talent daily. Tough one. I take him end of first round or beginning of second too.

03/03/2018 - 8:21pm Wow

I enjoyed reading this waaayyyy too much.

Golden post. Loved it! Thanks!

02/23/2018 - 1:33pm Weren’t

We like a 7 or 8 seed like two weeks ago? I’ll take the 5 seed.

02/23/2018 - 1:31pm Ah but

What if was only a lights out line coach at OSU because he had five stars across the board?

Drevno was the same with Stanford talent. Just a crap OC.

02/23/2018 - 1:27pm Presumptuous

I am not sure how you account for everything that is happening in the real world outside of sports reporting. It’s impossible to know what has taken place offline. Highly possible and likely that Drevno has been informed long ago and had been looking for a soft landing. Also possible he got crapped on. Don’t think we can characterize our Coach the way you have though given the info available. He, to date, has been extremely loyal (to a fault) and professional in my book.

02/07/2018 - 12:55pm Osu

Has like five guys at or near Peppers level every season. We have 1-2. They have more talent at nearly every position than us since early 2000s. So we need to do what MSU does to us every year, out grit, out execute and out scheme OSU. We have done none of those three things under The last three coaches and have pretty much lost to everyone that counts when it matters.

I hate this and still “like” our guys better, but it’s true. In addition to just some big wins (I see you ND next year), we need a ‘ship or a playoff experience to get back into the virtuous cycle of the 80s and 90s.

02/07/2018 - 12:34pm Dude-LSU-bandwagon much?

We lit them up Leto seasons ago. They were top five in the country last year when we in rebuild mode. Want were your expectations last year if you were told you’d go through three qb’s?

01/28/2018 - 12:06pm I posted something about 40...

After the bowl game that won’t be mentioned. This crushed my record and it feels good to no longer be that guy.

Well done troll jpeg dude.

01/25/2018 - 8:30pm Wondering.

Who is drafting these contracts for the assistants? No way they should be so easily poachable at a university like Michigan at the payrates they are getting.

Could be just a bad client asking the lawyers to give these guys what they want but a good lawyer would be like “dude, no”.

01/13/2018 - 5:53pm That was like watching

The Fab Five lose to a less talented MSU team. I liked it.

01/09/2018 - 8:30am When you watch

Bama, you realize “they are just kids” is not really a valid excuse. Those freshmen are 5 star athletic but the are executing an nfl offense and defense.

The difference is our offense is horrifically predictable nfl offense, we are not big and strong enough yet to bludgeon a good team (nor can we recruit same type of kid), we are way too conservative and play calling has been an issue, and we have yet to have a q.v. to rise up the errors or skilled players + online to cover for lack of q.v. play.

Just my opinion, could be wrong.

01/04/2018 - 10:11pm Matt LaFleur

With Rams now but good old Mt Pleasant boy, great QB, Dad was CMU’s coach, and apparently on his way up the coaching ranks. Taking a year or two under Harbaugh would be good for him (but still maybe a step down). Unlikely but a guy can dream right..

01/01/2018 - 5:02pm Not quit

That was a choke.  Quit would have been "giving up".  The offense and special teams were just lost.  Deer in head lights.  Fear of winning kicked in the second they had one moment of adversity.  Had they got a couple of first downs and not turned the ball over, it would have been ridiculously hard for SC to enter the game.  But oh well.

Chokers, not quitters.

01/01/2018 - 4:20pm Doesn’t matter with

That play calling.

11/28/2017 - 9:52pm Hits?

This is normal attrition at the end of the season. We should expect more after exit interviews.

11/26/2017 - 10:36pm I’d love the

Stanford matchup. Tons of great storylines, similar teams. In Sand Diego would be even better. Nice recruiting and team building opportunity. I might even fly out for that one.

Washington, WSU or others in pac 12 don’t do it for me.

I live in NYC and the Pinstripe bowl idea makes me want to vomit.

11/21/2017 - 2:40pm And yes...

I posted this from subway without reading other comments referencing this 50 times already .... sorry “bro”s.

11/21/2017 - 2:38pm Found this quote interesting....

“There’s other coaches that players kind of schluff off but definitely not coach Brown.”

Wonder who those coaches are?

11/21/2017 - 2:36pm OSU win

Would you feel the same way if the right call was made in the OSU game last year and we won?

11/15/2017 - 4:15pm I agree

Pretty much all of the point guards, teske, Davis and a few others are getting their first meaningful minutes (even Matthews can be in this group). They will grow rapidly and by time we get to middle of big ten season I think we will have a decent squad here. Definitely not world beaters, but I think they could finish top half of big ten and maybe squeeze in tourney. The Beilein B line.

11/13/2017 - 3:18pm Yet

The only “bad” loss would be to Sparty (I really thought they were not good) and we were in a monsoon with a backup QB. Disappointing yes, but we are sooooool young. Expectations that we would be PSU, Wisconsin and OSU were misplaced. If we win one of the last two and don’t get embarrassed in either I think the team is headed in right direction and will be very dangerous in the next two years once QB carousel stops, WRs mature and we build more line depth/dominance (most worried about this). So yeah, maybe disappointing so far...but there is still hope and if we don’t start beating MSU or OSU (new qb) next year then I think we should definitely start using another word besides “disappointing” then.

11/05/2017 - 8:42am I hate blaming refs but this crew sucked

Block below waste was at hips/belt line

Illegal man down field was after catch basically and had nothing to do with play

Mint player landed two punches after ripping Dwunfur’s head nearly off

No holding penalties when they were visible all game and called other way

Kick off return hold behind the play called yet tackle by face mask not

That was a game the refs will want back and we may have won 50+ points not for them. We still need to be cleaner/smarter for sure but c’mon.

10/29/2017 - 1:34pm Might be interesting to

Might be interesting to compare against Okorn vs Speoght chart when Speight went down against Purdue.

10/29/2017 - 1:20pm Here’s mine

5 sacks on d

Dominating Rashan Gary

Peters finally plays

2 109 yard rushers

Coaches keep it simple but call great game for him

State loses (kind of mixed on this one, but Spartan friends were unusually Dickey’s this year so f them).

Chance to better ruin oSU season

10/11/2017 - 7:11pm Primary issue is

Pay to play model that kills any meritocracy and raw talent coming through ranks. Happens in all sports but most in is soccer. We need more mini pitches, we need all academies and clubs to give scholarships. We need parachute parents off the pitch. We need to get rid of the good old boys network and establish a true cold hearted Harbaugh style meritocracy where spots on every level are earned. Then you want gabe gyasi friggin zardes called in ever again or Zusi starting as your right back. Or literally no one not named Pulisic under 21 with meaningful USMNT team time. Ugh. Wound still fresh. Sorry.

10/11/2017 - 7:07pm Pulisic

Wouldn't make nearly the money he could in Europe , wouldn't be appreciated the way he is in Europe and would not develop the way he can when he plays against the best there. There is one thing about going to Europe shuffling around and not playing but you can't come back bc of ego, there is another for this guy. He was a golden boy candidate this year. Has potential to be top 20 - 50 player in world.

10/11/2017 - 12:08am Yup

Yedlin, pulisic, arriola, brooks. Rest are done.

Guys who should have been playing and developing: Johnson, Miazga, carter Vickers, mckinnie.

Pathetic. Sunil has to be out after this and is soccer must change and unify. Mls and all lower leagues, uss, youth and club. We have 300 m. A primary sport like football bleeding talent to other sports and literally no plan but to avoid promotion relegation and rely talent being built in the bundislegia which we may or may not call on as we got s yay mls coach (who should never coach a USA game again).

First we lose to a shit MSU team. Then we lose to a shit t&t team and lose out on World Cup. This has to be one of the worst sporting weeks I've had in a while.

Beat OSU and all will be right again.

10/09/2017 - 10:47pm KFaTAotW

No Rashan Gary. Any week this season? Weird.

Great call on the deep shots. MSU gives them. It's what you do with an over aggressive team...that our quick slant with a te. Totally puzzling,,,,and then when the rain came...they couldn't.

10/08/2017 - 3:53pm Idiotic post

Um, we had a pretty decent early schedule. We deserved a solid ranking. We laid an egg against a crap team in the elements with a backbup qb.

We likely have one of the top five defenses in the country. That puts us easily in top 25.

MSU was awful last night but for the two drives, one of which we gifted them with field position on one of our 5 (fffffffff!) turnovers.

We beat that team 8 out of tens Times all things being equal. Sometimes you lose to a team you are better than because you aren't better that day. Happens all the time.

To translate that into we don't belong in the rankings at all or we MUST be behind MSU is dumb. Not how it works with rankings.

10/08/2017 - 3:48pm This is an idiotic post

Taking the bait of a pompous ass or trolling us.

We got intimidated again by MSU. We dropped balls. The right side of our line was non existent. We didn't stick with the run when it actually wasn't awful. We tried to throw in sheets of rain like we were down by 21 and time running out. Our youth on offensive is more negatively impactful than that on defense, as is always the case but for a skill position like wr or sometime rb when you have a sick line (which we don't).

Kids learn though and we will be back. Too bad all factors came together at once against these douche bags but they did. We will be fine.

Beat OSU and win a bowl game and we will think it's the greatest season in last ten years.

09/25/2017 - 11:53am That is...

The play I was hung up on too. Good call. That was a key third down too. He panicked and progressed to fast. TE came up by design. Speight had time. Ran into traffic.

Once you see that, watch, he does it way too often. If he was clean back there and didn't have to roll, might be a contest. But it's not. OKorn is an easy call here.

09/25/2017 - 11:31am That pick

Was on the wr, in my book.
