Here we go again.... Football will be played. Hell, we’ve been playing in baseball tournaments the last 4 weeks, where there’s upwards of 1k people in the park. No sickness, and no spikes in Corona. As a matter of fact, full contact football begins today in Ohio for HS.
I’m not so sure he won’t be the #1 back when the season starts. This young man is special. The kind of special that we haven’t had since that kind of special rolled into AA 17 years ago.
If you don’t mind traveling, I would highly recommend the Jeff Trickey Camp. The instruction they receive from a technique & leadership standpoint is first class.

There’s definitely a serious disconnect happening right now, and I hope something changes in a hurry. You would think a statement would be released from Jim speaking on the departures, as well as the direction the program is going to head. It’s vital for the recruiting perception.
I’m not sure how many of you actually follow wrestling, but Mason Paris is going to be a very special wrestler. He’s from the same area that I grew up in, and I’ve followed his career. He was a three time state champion, and his only loss was in the state finals of his freshman year. After that loss, he won three consecutive state championships, without a single point being scored on him. Let that sink in for a bit.
Although I agree with the general consensus that it was a mistake, there is a part of me that believes that everything that comes out from this staff is very calculated.
I never thought it would be, and honestly, there’s not a lot to it. However, there’s something about that damn game that just sucks you in. Must be subliminal messages in there or something!
Well, after about 8 months of constantly yelling at my son regarding this game, I’ve found myself sneaking into the basement to play Fortnite when he’s not home. If anyone enjoys a good detective series, I just finished watching Bosch on Amazon. It was a really strong 4 seasons.
I’m of the belief that the NCAA’s stance of not expanding has just been lip service. They’re only concerned with one thing, the almighty dollar. I don’t think they wanted to admit to expansion publicly because of their expected stance of “student athlete” first. However, I think they’ve been laying the ground work for a few years of creating a narrative that expansion is a must.... without them saying it, mind you.
I think that they can use this year to leave ND out, and would certainly make the expansion outcry more audible. Playoff matchups would most definitely generate more revenue as opposed to just regular bowl games, not only for the NCAA, but for the institutions as well.
Good sir, man coverage will not work against OSU. The staff had 364 days to prepare and scheme zone coverages for this one game. Everyone’s heard of cutting off your nose to spite your face, that’s what happened.
Was his shoulder injured prior to the end of his sophomore year? Honestly, it very well could’ve been, but I thought it happened towards the end of last year. The reason I bring up upper body physique is in the NFL, you better have some serious upper body strength to be able to drive and shed those monsters lining across from you. You look at the top D-Line prospects, and current NFL DE’s, they’re jacked.
I’m curious as to why you have this opinion. I’m in the minority here, I’m sure, but Gary hasn’t been that productive when you compare him to other d-line prospects around the country..... and I’m not just talking about this year. Another thing I was hoping to see over the last few years is Gary improving his upper body physique. That hasn’t happened, and it’s something that’s being discussed amongst NFL scouts.
Having worked in the scouting department of an NFL team, I can only assume that Patterson will return. Unless he completely disregards the feedback he’ll assuredly get regarding his draft position, he’ll be back. He’s a good college QB at this point, but an NFL caliber QB he is not..... at least at this point in time.

“Won’t beat OSU”? Have you even watched them? Their defense is average at best, and that’s being generous. Their o-line play is, again, average at best. They’ve mysteriously lost the ability to move the ball on the ground, and their QB is a statue back there.
I’m with you. I was watching with my wife, and I was telling her about the human death machine that is Mr. Mason. After about the 10th time of me saying, this is a good spot for Mason to come in and destroy someone, my wife says, “He must not be very good, he hasn’t hardly played all game”. Needless to say, I didn’t respond because I’ve been married long enough not too.
I was speaking to the player development aspect. Very little growth on the field, and that's definitely something that's used against them in recruiting. Yes, they faced a great deal of attrition, and have a young team, but that's not the case anymore. Nothing to fall back on this year. They need to win and win often. This team is stacked with talent up and down roster. Hoke & Company need to show they CAN develop talent, and then everything else will fall into place.
I'm not a fan of Urb's, but is what he's saying a farce? I hope our coaching staff shows out this year, but until they do, this will continue to be a weakness.

* DPJ isn’t very explosive. People have commented on his “combine” potential; I don’t see it.
