wait, are you the guy who called Ryan Field our "Lake House"? My kids are still laughing about that.

Then the AD can’t charge for tours. Where will they ever make up that revenue?

09/21/2018 - 4:58pm Stadium is badass now, but…

Stadium is badass now, but in a different way. There was something really awe inspiring when you walked through the section tunnels for the first time. From the street the stadium didn’t look like much, then it opened into something jaw dropping.

Now you can see the scoreboards from M-14. So, it is big and imposing, but you don’t get that shock when you first walk in.

09/21/2018 - 4:53pm The webcam during the turf…

The webcam during the turf install was nuts. Didn’t the workers lay the midfield M in one end zone and everyone freaked as well?

I’d be ok with lowering water prices. There is no reason to drop $4.50. Sell a smaller one for less.

Saturday was ridiculous.

12/15/2017 - 1:39pm Everything I hear is that you

Everything I hear is that you find out on the 24th, maybe later on the 23rd.

12/08/2016 - 11:10am I think you're reaching here.

I think you're reaching here. It isn't the NCAA's job to legislate how taxpayer dollars are spent, especially since this rule would apply to private schools as well.

06/21/2011 - 11:20am Bog House

The Big House is hosting weddings now. Maybe they can get Special K to DJ.

06/10/2011 - 8:46pm Get off my lawn.

Get off my lawn.

04/25/2011 - 3:48pm Ha... oh

I see what you did there

04/01/2011 - 12:35pm Damn

I wish this was around when I was an undergrad.

03/26/2011 - 1:11pm Exactly

Michigan was robbed more than once last year in critical games due to quick whistles. Now we finally get a good goal. Complainers can suck it.

01/27/2011 - 9:46pm Dang

We need the old board back so I can pos bang this.

01/17/2011 - 2:20pm very funny

My post may have been way OT, but if it generated that pic, it was well worth it. +1000000 to you sir.

01/14/2011 - 9:38pm You win sir

+10000 to you

01/14/2011 - 9:36pm Total Rod-Trusted

Although I don't want Hoke to fail.

If he does, I will call DeFran immediately and tell him to eat a fat one.

01/14/2011 - 1:03pm Old

I must be getting old too, since I was curious too. I heard at one point (sorry, I don't have a link) that his kids were getting harassed at school. If that were true, maybe I would just pack up and leave.

01/14/2011 - 12:51pm famlily

Remember, the guy has kids who are in school. It's not always that easy to quickly pack up and leave in those cases.

01/14/2011 - 11:58am Yep

You keep telling yourself that!

01/14/2011 - 10:47am Or

Or that there isn't a coach about to 'touch' him.

01/13/2011 - 4:40pm Sarcasm

Me thinks someone left off the /sarcasm tag.

01/13/2011 - 3:38pm Mallett

If he was a big a d-bag as rumored, maybe RR couldn't stand him either.

01/13/2011 - 3:35pm Maybe

The difference is not RR and Hoke, but Mallett and Denard. Lloyd hated Mallett.

01/13/2011 - 8:31am I don't get the big deal

I really like the Adidas stuff. Unlike Nike's fake history (pro-combat), they've worked really hard to integrate our history into the uniforms. I'm not a fan of the away unis either, but they're an upgrade from the stupid yellow piping from the last set of Nike away jerserys. Plus, our home jerseys don't have the blue diaper look.

I was never a huge fan of the Nike apparel and have been really happy with the stuff Adidas has done.

01/13/2011 - 8:27am Carr era

Those were designed before RR got here. The designs are made up the previous fall. So, if there were going to be any changes for this fall's uniforms, they'd already be in the mix.

01/04/2011 - 10:17am Quick

Someone call John Pollack and get his opinion.

01/03/2011 - 2:24pm Youth

I know "this is Michigan" and Craig James thinks we can just get a bunch of 5 star guys, but keep in mind just how young this team, especially on defense, really is. As assembled, I think 7 or 8 wins was about the ceiling for this team. Given the resonable expectations for young players improving, this team should continue climbing next year.

12/14/2010 - 8:21am Save this

Looks like we need to save this for an Iowa thread later today

12/10/2010 - 9:04am No kidding

I can't believe I got rid of mine.

I do still have a candy jar from the original Big Ten (pre-PSU).

12/02/2010 - 9:24am Not that I hold the same opinion

But the argument mostly goes that the economic situation has caused migrations of people from Michigan (and the midwest) to other states, thus hurting our recruiting advantage.

It might make sense except other local schools are performing just fine these days.

11/30/2010 - 3:56pm Do it

I almost did it in 1997. Got the tix through the Athletic Department and then got sick as a dog during the PSU game. Doctor wouldn't let me leave town, so I had to give away my Wiscy ticket. Biggest mistake of my life, missing the Wisconsin game that is.

11/30/2010 - 12:59pm link

Here's a link, but you need rivals access. Some rivals guy named jizzard19

http://michigan.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?highlight=Jizzard19&sid=883&fid=338&tid=139429476&mid=139429476

11/30/2010 - 12:56pm Actually, I threw in the

Actually, I threw in the DeBord item to point out that he wasn't going to get the job, which I should have added.

I also agree that the pitchforks would have been out for DeBord, but they were also out for RR the moment he stepped on campus.

What struck me most about that was his cherry-picking of facts and making up history to use it against RR.

11/30/2010 - 12:50pm 2 halves to a game

I'm pretty sick of hearing about the 'meaningless' second half points. Remember in 2008 and 2009 when we'd come out strong, only to be bottled up in the second half? Everyone criticized us by saying that we had nothing in the playbook, and by the time defenses figured us out, we had no response. We also made no adjustments at the half.

Now, when something hasn't been working, we do adjust, and suddenly that's evidence of scoring when it doesn't matter. Brian made the comment a while back that using stats like that was backfilling reasons to say the offense doesn't work. That's exactly what this is.

11/30/2010 - 12:45pm I agree

I don't see more than a couple of extra wins in 2008, and more of the same in 2009 and 2010.

If I get the pulse of the fanbase correct, those on the pro-RR side think we're going to explode into something awesome in the next year or two. On the anti-RR side, we can explode in the near future, but with JH as the coach. Is there anyone who thinks we'd be poised to rocket to the top had DeBord been coach?

11/30/2010 - 12:42pm Read that

I saw that yesterday, and it's a repost from rivals. Man, does that thing call for a fisking. I know it's not a newspaper article, and just a post from a fan site, but it certainly paints a funny view of history. What did it for me was his thoughts on the games we should have won in 2008. I'm sorry, but even with an inside promotion, the talent on that roster wasn't going to win some of those games (PSU in 2008 was a monster).

Plus, DeBord had a track record as a head coach, and failed miserably.

11/19/2010 - 3:13pm d-bag

Bret is probably the biggest d-bag coaching in the Big Ten.

11/10/2010 - 8:53am How about...

The nice guy with a gleaming smile that kneels down when he scores touchdowns? I' m just sayin'.

11/09/2010 - 10:24pm This is MICHIGAN!

Anyone saying "this is Michigan" better know what they're talking about.

11/06/2010 - 10:39pm Got mine today

Got the mail as I walked in the house after arriving home from the game. What a way to make today even better.

I don't know how he does it, but Dave Brandon is full of WIN.

11/06/2010 - 10:38pm 1,000,000 points to you

You summed up last week perfectly.

11/06/2010 - 9:04pm Oh man,

We were talking about that in our seats. That would have put the show over the top.

11/02/2010 - 10:29pm He had injury problems

and in 1984 people thought he was past his prime.

10/29/2010 - 12:29pm Accident

Sometimes and accident is just that. In hindsight, it was a bad idea to send him up on that lift. Just like GoBlueinTX said, it was probably more of an equipment failure.

The most reasonable and likely outcome of all of this will be for programs (not just college, but all football programs) to be more cautious in weather like this.

An analogy here is the nets above NHL rinks. No one ever had them until that girl was killed. Looking back, putting up nets was a pretty good idea, and should have been done a long time ago.

I'd bet that a lot of student managers have gone up in scissor lifts during high winds and have come back down alive. Looking back, that was a bad idea as well, but until a tragedy happened, nobody really thought about it. Holding Kelly accountable here is really just looking to blame someone. If ND (or anyone else) sends a kid up in a scissor lift again during 50 mph winds, then maybe you have a point about holding someone accountable.

In the end, this was tragic. Sometimes accidents happen and the only reaction is to avoid the behavior in the future.

10/27/2010 - 10:49am Not so sure

Given how quickly some people have wanted to ride RR out of town, I'm not so sure "UM fans obviously know".

10/14/2010 - 1:54pm Ufer...

for sure. I'm pretty certain that Ufer only means something to Michigan fans, but nothing tops Ufer. He was one of the first to really be a homer, so that may have legs beyond Ann Arbor.

10/14/2010 - 11:12am You're right...

it is relevant. I just know where this one is heading.

Frankly, I think it's pretty cool he's here showcasing some of our local establishments.
