Who Is Better?

Reading that column, which he must have just whipped together on the plane back to LA last night, I marveled at his ability to capture the emotion of the sports fans' moment.  Perhaps he did this better earlier in his career, and I'm not going to bother reading his 2002 columns to have an informed opinion on the subject, but I look forward to reading all of his columns and think they are generally excellent.  Seeing this post about him being too rich and chummy with the rich and famous to write entertaining, thoughtful columns sort of pisses me off.  Too much complaining on this site.  Go start a complain about sports website or something.

1st Period Onslaught

The Wings' are going to be highly revved up for this one and will be in the offensive zone for most of the 1st period.  They just need to find a way to get some shots past Pekka.

Would rather..

DG at WR then for him to Tebow Denard like last season.

BBA Great for Getting a Job but could be semi-redundant

My Ross BBA was 15 years ago so I'm sure things have changed since then.  Regardless, one enormous benefit is/was Career Services.  I felt much better prepared for interviews and that I had better access to good jobs than my friends with Economics degrees.  Getting a BBA might be a poor use of resources for some like someone mentioned above.  But if none of the other majors are appealing and an MBA might not be a priority down the road then a BBA could be the way to go.  I got an MBA from Berkeley and was better prepared for classes than the non-BBAs and could focus on other things because of that but did have to repeat a few things too.  Getting into the BBA program is more than just grades.  Leadership in clubs, etc is also important.

Final Four Tickets

Anyone looking for Final Four tickets?  My friends have 8 together.  Don't think they want to sell at face value but they will sell less than Stubhub.  All of us are Michigan grads and would rather help pack the place with Michigan fans when we cut down the nets!

Stu had a good game but...

I like how he played last night.  No turnovers or dumb decisions that I noted in just watching the 2nd half last night.  However, last night was an anomaly.  He still jacks up too many bad threes, drives to the basket without a plan of what he's going to do when he gets near there and commits too many stupid fouls, especially for a senior..  I'm probably too focused on his negative plays but just don't get the Stu love.  He's not in the same category as Novak by a long shot--1.5 points be damned!

Trade Cabrera?

Is it possible they trade Cabrera to fill other holes?  Are DD and Mr. I. tired of the drama with Miguel?

Thanks for the tip

I'm a subscriber and appreciate the thread.  No reason to neg this.

Voted!

Mattison's lead is growing.  ~46% to ~40%!

Ditto to the disagreement on all fronts

Plus, beating Meyer once when he was at Florida has little to no bearing on beating him if he takes the Ohio job.

Go blue!

Offense Ranking

It's nice that our offense was so powerful last year scoring 7 points against OSU and 14 in the bowl game.  I'll take a less powerful offense that puts points on the board.

Drew Dull drewdull.com is not taken. Anyone want to start a site to raise a public outcry against him to get him fired?
What's the surprise? Doesn't everyone have a For Sale sign in the Detroit area? Perhaps he's just planning on buying up a few square miles of real estate near the ballpark with the proceeds, whenever someone antes up. He might even be in the process of signing a 3 year contract extension, figuring that it will take several years to sell that house anyway and he might as well get a jump on it now.
Trade Down Instead if They Can Suh looks like the real deal but we need to fill like 20 spots not 1. Trade down for more picks if anyone is willing to go for it, otherwise save $10 mil guaranteed and take one of the remaining defensive studs. Paying $30-$40 mil guaranteed for a guy who has never played a down in the NFL is ludicrous and is part of the reason the Lions are so bad. They always have their cap space chewed up by 1st round busts. If picked by another team, Suh will be the best DT ever. If chosen by the Lions, he will join Rogers selling dope within 5 years.
Agreed I don't have much to add, other than watching him against Texas on Saturday was a revelation. The guy was constantly in the backfield. How can McCoy and Tebow be in the same group with him? This isn't even a close decision, but sadly, we all know what the Heisman lemmings will decide.
Agreed It seems like 80% of the media, fans, etc. are getting a little too carried away about last weekend, although it could just be that the displeased few are the ones causing a ruckus -- sounds familiar as we were in this boat only a few weeks ago. Yes, last weekend couldn't have been better. But if you put Tate out there against USC's defense, he's likely going to struggle too. Thanks Brian for your post today about keeping our expectations at Alamo Bowl level.
Write to MSU Hockey and Athletic Dept to Express Opinions I wrote to MSU's Coach Rick Comley ([email protected]) to tell him how outraged I am that the players received such light punishment. Also write to the Athletic Director at ([email protected]) to tell him that the coach should be fired and players expelled. Might not do much but it couldn't hurt.
Flacco and Ryan That Flacco guy isn't too bad either. Matt Ryan, even better. Obviously, they were both the exception to the rule. Depends on the situation. In the NFL, you generally play for the playoffs until mathematically eliminated. For the Lions, that starts with opening day.
Agreed and Agreed Points to Dex for the obvious comebacks but also to chitown. I was watching Texas execute their offense last night, thinking we could do the same in a couple of years with our system and talent level. But until we can consistently execute the bubble screen flawlessly, there will be a steep hill to climb.
Chill How can you seriously expect RR to be emotional about something that he has yet to experience? It's like asking a guy to have feelings for someone he has only met online. Once RR runs onto the 'Shoe in the maize and blue, he'll have a completely different perspective. I appreciate Lloyd more now but don't miss him. M was a Top 10 program over his tenure and falling off a cliff the year after is tough. But it was time several years ago. Hopefully RR will give us a consistent chance to beat the Bucks in a few years and I'm not sure Lloyd could do that again, despite so many close losses.
