As happy as we all are for Duncan, I think the negative effect on Derrick is getting overlooked. Like you mentioned, Walton may be getting the short end of the stick in this instance. He's struggled with his shot this summer and while the Heat extended the qualifying offer, they haven't signed him to the two-way-contract yet.

07/01/2018 - 8:23pm Stanley will be on the last…

Stanley will be on the last year of his rookie deal next year, so this will likely be his final year in Detroit. There's always the chance that Casey helps develop his game this year too, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Great way to keep myself from working on a Friday afternoon

04/08/2018 - 7:27pm There's always the possiblity

There's always the possiblity of a sequal, but the contract details that were reported last year lead to believe it was a single year deal. Additionally, shows like this typically feature a new team each year. Hard Knocks, All or Nothing (prior seasons), and A Season With (HBO show) have all followed a new team each season.

04/02/2018 - 11:52pm DJ Wilson has $4,669,320

DJ Wilson has $4,669,320 guranteed reasons to not regret his decision. There was virtually no upside in him coming back, especially with his injury history.

04/02/2018 - 1:48pm I've got two more meetings

I've got two more meetings today that I should really be focusing on, but it's a lost cause at this point.

I'm stuck between just giving up for the day and being productive enough to pass the time.

03/18/2018 - 9:32pm Down 42-34 at the half and

Down 42-34 at the half and defintely still in the game. Baylor is dominating on the offensive glass though.

03/18/2018 - 9:25pm Great point

This couldn't be more accurate. I've seen that reasoning referenced multiple times, but this is th first time I actually went to look at the numbers.

JJJ fouled out 5 times this year, but failed to reach the 25 minute mark in any of those games. Adding to that point is when he was able to play 25+ minutes in a game (13 games), it was only once (Michigan) against a tournament team.

02/18/2018 - 4:04pm He wasn't signaling for a

He wasn't signaling for a travel, it was the motion for substitutions. The reason he kept doing it was because the timeout was not for real strategic purposes, JB just wanted to get MAAR out of the game. The ref knew this and wanted to stop the two teams from going to their benches and huddling up, hence the continuous and emphatic motion.

02/07/2018 - 9:39pm Have you seen a close up of

Have you seen a close up of Mo's by chance? I've been eyeballing them every game, but had come to the conclusion that he's been wearing the Jordan 11 Midnight Blue's that droped last year.

02/07/2018 - 9:29pm None?

Can honestly say that I didn't know people made plans or got together to watch the opening cermony. Personally, I'll forget that it's happening and instead watch Duke/N. Carolina or any other game I can find.

02/06/2018 - 6:15pm I'm not sure if this article

I'm not sure if this article is paywalled or not, I'm a subscriber, but here's what he had to say about Michigan in his first edition this year.

Michigan (18-6, 7-4 — RPI: 32, SOS: 61): Michigan State's RPI (23 entering Thursday's games) doesn't do justice to the Spartans; thus, neither does Michigan's Jan. 13 win in East Lansing do justice to the Wolverines. It may not guarantee John Beilein's team a bid, but with so little upside in the rest of the schedule – a Feb. 18 visit from Ohio State might be Michigan's only remaining tourney-bound opponent this season – it does give the Wolverines some wiggle room down the stretch.

That's incorrect. Going to the ground to complete the catch takes precident over any football move attempted. Because he has yet to complete the catch, there is no football move that has taken place after the catch.

12/17/2017 - 7:27pm The ball can make contat with

The ball can make contat with the ground as long as the receiver remains in complete control of the ball, but that wasn't the case here. It's pretty similar to the Calvin Johnson catch from 2010.

11/26/2017 - 7:46pm I'm eyeing that Notre Dame

I'm eyeing that Notre Dame game, for the time being. Have a couple friends that are ND alumn and Notre Dame is on the bucket list, even though I've heard South Bend itself is a bore.

11/26/2017 - 6:59pm Simmons saw something like 2

Simmons saw something like 2 minutes in the first half and then didn't see the floor again until there was about 9 minutes left in the game. It was well out of reach at that point and even when he came in the first time the game wasn't really a game.

I think we're starting to see it shake out as Brooks being the primary guy, but will be interesting to see how he handles the atmosphere in Chapel Hill.

I think Bielema knew he was gone as soon as they fired Long, a win today probably would not have saved him.

11/10/2017 - 11:03pm You're right, the additions

You're right, the additions to the roster have been key early on both sides of hte ball. Tolliver, while I'm not personally a big fan, has hit some big shots and provided consitency off the bench. Kennard and Ellison will continue to bounc between the G-Leauge and the NBA, allowing them to get spot minutes with the big team and quaity minutse in GR's.

I can appreciate why you think this, but they've transitioned from a pick n roll offense to a motion offense. They are executing much better on both ends of the ball, but I'd still disagre with the fact that offensive principles are the same.  Involving Dre more frequently at the elbow and working through him more often, which is a change in offensive principle, has been a key. They're no longer relying on Jackson, or Ish, to facilitate movement off the ball on offense. They're able to spread the floor, move the ball more effiecnetly, and have some options when it comes to who to run the offense through.

Either way, I'm also excited for what the rest of the season hold.

11/10/2017 - 9:36pm These first few weeks of the

These first few weeks of the season have been fantastic, as a Pistons fan. Add in the struggles of the Cavs (Thomas should be back soon though) and it's pretty tough to find something to complain about.

Got to give props to SVG for being willing to revamp and shift his offensive principles.

11/10/2017 - 9:33pm They won 15 games least year

They won 15 games least year (one of them against NJIT...oh no) and are trying to replace the best player on that roster. They might not be a body bag team, but on paper they shouldn't have a chance in either game this weekend.

11/08/2017 - 8:19pm He's wearing #21 as a tribute, so it makes sense for them to not

10/17/2017 - 10:41pm No, just no.

Are you trying to make a point about this season or 5 years from now?

Hayward might not be a superstar, but he's much more than role player. Second, this Cav's team won't be the same 10 months from now, stop kidding yourself with the 5 year shit.

LeBron is a free agent, literally with the player option, every year he wants to be and that will only change when he wants it to. This isn't even considering the fact he might not be playing five years from now. Thomas is on the last year of his deal, Wade signed a one year league minnimum to play with LeBronONE more season, J.R. Smith almost didn't come back this year, Kyle Korver won't be around much longer, and Tyrone Lue probably won't be the head coach anymore.

10/17/2017 - 10:16pm Ummm, what are you talking about?

That trade wasn't about this year.

I won't argue that the Celitcs may have overpaid for Kyrie, but they did it with the future in mind. Thomas is coming of a serious hip injury and on the last year of his contract, they brought in Hayward on long term deal, have a chance to negotiate and sign Kyrie long term now (this is huge because Boston historically has trouble attracting FA's), and already have two young potental stars in Brown and Tatum.

10/17/2017 - 9:52pm The Hayward injury was

The Hayward injury was horrible to watch, yet they kept the live shot on him while he sat there in shock over what had just happened.

10/14/2017 - 1:35pm As long as they don't

As long as they don't simulate the a movement they would make at the snap of a ball, it's not a penalty. Basically, no abrupt or extremely sudden movments.

10/01/2017 - 7:56pm With respect to the B10, it's

With respect to the B10, it's done on a rotating weekly basis after the #1 game selection of the year ([email protected] this year).

“FOX has the No. 1 overall selection of all games for the season every year,” said Mike McComiskey, the Big Ten’s associate commissioner for technology who handles Big Ten football scheduling. “After that, it rotates through the top picks for a while through FOX and ESPN and then into BTN. They do a draft process in the spring where they now have each week of the season. They’re not actually picking games at that point, but they’re taking their slotted draft picks. “There’s 95 games that fall under the Big Ten television contract this year, so they have one through 95 plotted out between the three networks. They’ve got the draft and they’ve drafted out each of those weeks as to who has the first, second, third and beyond picks of those weeks.”

09/29/2017 - 10:28pm Are you sure about getting

Are you sure about getting both for the price of one? From my understanding, the two sites will remain separate as wiil their subscription models. The merger has more to do with sharing prospect and player data than anything else.

When the 247/Scout merger first started a few weeks ago, it was made pretty clear on both boards that there were no plans for a the two Michigan sites to merge in to one.

09/29/2017 - 7:29pm USC vs WSU is probably the

USC vs WSU is probably the best football matchup, Miami vs Duke intruiging because of how it finished two years ago, and Nebrask vs Illionois is a must watch because if the Huskers lose Mike Riley might not make it on the plane back.

Sign me up for all three.

09/28/2017 - 9:52pm He definitely could use some

He definitely could use some improvement, but for a guy who's in the first few weeks of his announcing/analyst career I've been pretty impressed.

I think the average view may get annoyed because he has tendancy to over analyze prior to the play, but I think that makes it all the more interesting. He was a little hesitant in Week 1, but there was a few times (maybe 4 or 5) where he correctly predicted the route/pass combination to key on prior the snap. Then last week he was almost as excited as any of the players on the field for CIN/GB as that came was coming down to the wire.

09/24/2017 - 9:29pm I came away thinking

I came away thinking different, but I did get sucked in by the discussion of why cold water into a warm body might be bad for you. It seemed like the Purdue crowd admitted that their facilites are shit, but upgrades/renovations are in the near future.

09/21/2017 - 8:09am While your sarcasm is well

While your sarcasm is well noted, I think the idea behind involving the TE's, Hill, and RB's in the passing game is to mitigate the ineffectivness of the OL. If the initial read is to the TE or back coming out the backfield, the OL shouldn't need to hold their blocks as long and the missed assignments may not have as much of a negative effect.

So yes, you may be missing something.
