You're not crying, I'm…

You're not crying, I'm crying. A-maize-ing (see what I did there?) piece. Hopefully you can be the same sounding board and steady source of support for Coach Moore. Forever, Go Blue.

….anyone else feel like…

….anyone else feel like there should be some “haven’t won at Camp Randall since 2001” muppets?

Awesome, thanks!

Awesome, thanks!

Molk's trident

Anyone know the story behind Molk's trident chain? I'm intrigued...

Game Time

For what its worth, my cable service has the game listed as starting at 8:30PM Eastern, with the UND/ND game starting at 5:30

Either that or

the wingmen bears went down, giving their lives for the cause of destroying the evil that is OSU and MSU.

You do realize...

You do realize that saying "best of luck," and "I miss you" to Tate on mgoblog is about as effective as talking to a brick wall.

We are all in the same boat.

We all hurt. But we all hurt together. You were not alone in 2007 when the Horror occurred. 110,000 of your brethren were there. We all suffer as one. As a family. If the family stays together, we are unstoppable. We have the most dynamic young man in the history of the game as our leader. We have a coach who loves his players and his team more than his own coaching style. I believe that Brady Hoke will bring us back, and Denard will lead the charge. Fear not the Spartans, or the Buckeyes. We are Michigan. We are coming back with a vengeance never before seen. There will be pain and heartache along the way, but that is the path of life. In the end we will prevail. Go blue, HOLD THE ROPE.

It couldn't be more aptly put

I remember the day I began to bleed Maize and Blue. It was the summer between my 5th and 6th grade years of elementarfy school. Growing up in Florida, Michgian was somewhat of an anomaly in that people either rooted for UF or FSU. We were at Michigan when they were putting the outer ring on the Big House to once again make it the largest stadium in the country, overtaking Tenneessee. (I believe this was '96 or '97). A group of 5th grade kids attending a summer program at UM managed to get into the then under construction stadium, make it down to the field, and began a game of flag football. I will never forget those days. I may not have realized I would later attend Michigan and see it through some of the hardest times in school history, but I would not trade that hour of my life for anything in the world. I remember as a small child, standing on the M at center field, turning a complete 360 and realizing there was something larger afoot. It was something larger than any one coach or player in particular. It was something that I can't put my finger on but I know is there.

When Hoke was hired, I was pissed. I felt Michigan had once again been cheated out of the coach they deserved to bring them back to greatness and glory. I expected another mass exodus a'la 2008. I expected to lose another 3 to ohio state, at a minimum. Then I realized how much Hoke loves Michgian. Denard will be here on that September day when the winged helmets once again take the field. Our team has a leader, and an amazing athlete to rally around to lead the resurgence. Brady Hoke kept the family together, and that is his first win. I was once skeptical and pissed, I am once again all in for Michigan.

Another Solar Plexus punch avoided

ESPN reprting that Denard is gonna stay!

I guess angry Michigan hating god is gonna give us a stay of execution for now, lets see if the Tater can get his grades up and get back in!

Barwis

Mike Barwis cannot be encompassed by one man. This, I believe is a poor choice by Hoke

I realize that Paterno is Old

I wasn't commenting on his age, merely that he has been kicking our asses the past couple of years.

Video

Looking for the video of this, but apparently NBC Universal is stingy with copyrights....

Jackson Retained?

Just a quick clarification? Did Jackson get retained? Last I'd heard he was canned along with all the other assistants save for Barwis. I mean we haven't really had a productive runner since Mike Hart (at least one which was healthy for a majority of the season, i.e. Brandon Minor), so I can see him not being able to save his ass this time, but if he dodged the bullet twice, well most impressive

Baton Rouge

Winged Helmet plane is on its way back to Baton Rouge

Give 'em a chance

I'm all for giving an up and coming OC or DC thats willing to work their asses off a chance. As much as I hate Auburn for paying Newton to play there, someone like Malzahn might be a good fit for Michigan. He can use the talent we have on offense now (pretty sure my head would implode if I had to see Denard suit up somewhere else), and hopefully bring in someone as a DC that can use what we've got on the defensive side of the ball, albeit not a whole hell of a lot, to slow down offenses. If we can cut 100-150 yards allowed per game, it would probably do wonders for the season record. I say give a coordinator a shot at the head job, "Michigan Man" requirement be damned.

Outside

At this point I'll take someone crazy like Mike Leach. It's like digging up a dead Ronald Reagan and making him president. Nobody fucks with you if they know you're nuts.

Denard

Watching Denard is like watching your infant son or daughter take their first steps, like watching them graduate college, get married, have kids of their own, and then winning the lottery all in one. This kid is amazing.

Miles ahead of last year

It's amazing to see the progression of Denard from year 1 to year 2. Last year I'd have compared putting Denard on the field to Tebow as a freshman (minus the size and oafish slowness), seeing him line up at QB basically ensured a run, which any halfway decent defense picked up on after about 3 games. This year he's a true passing threat, accurate, quick on the release, and able to read the defense to make big plays. It's going to be an exciting season watching him play, however I'd like to see him either throw more or hand off to a running back, because if he carries 30+ times per game, it's only a matter of time before the Michigan-hating gods rain on our parade and he gets hurt. I don't think I could bear to see that happen. GO BLUE!

1% Shirts

Brian,

Mgostore should offer something akin to the 1% shirt that Brock Mealer came out of the tunnel wearing today, with portions of proceeds going to something like Motts or the spinal center.

Amen.

Amen.

ROTC

Brian,

As an alum of the Michigan Navy ROTC, I can honestly say it's good to see some good publicity on here and that CAPT V is getting the word out! Keep it up!

Its a new Decade, after all

Hopefully we can start a new decade list with Denard

LLLLLLLLoyd

Watching Lloyd Carr being carried off the field after whipping the crap out of Florida will remain the best moment of my football experience at Michgan. Namely because I grew up an hour from Orlando and a TON of my friends went to UF, talked smack all the way up to the game, and I got to enjoy it in person, but being Michigan classy I declined the obvious opportunity to rub it in their faces.

Ouch

The fact that I was a student for most of these plays made it all the more painful.....

Ecstasy of Gold

The Ennio Morricone-esque western theme to that Ecstasy of Gold video makes me giddy to think that one day we will again ride into the Big House with guns blazing....

Black Hole

A conference of 16 teams would just get so big that it would create a black hole in the Midwest and either a) draw everything surrounding it in and destroy it, or more likely b)collapse in on itself and fizzle out after a relatively short lifespan.

AB Rocks

Alton Brown is my hero, and now you share that pedestal as well Brian. Bravo.

Denard

I'd love to see some formations with Tate behind center and Denard in the slot, man if that kid gets a ball and breaks free he's in for 6 guaranteed.

I'm going to risk eternal

I'm going to risk eternal damnation with my first official mgoblog comment and say that I'd have taken Shegos over Gravallese any day.
