I grew up in Michigan....

...Brighton to be exact.  I graduated from high school in Ann Arbor and I didn't apply to UM or MSU for that matter.  I could have gone to UM but I wanted to go to school away from home so I went to Wash U in St. Louis and I've been here ever since.  That being said I've lived and died with Michigan football for as long as I can remember.  Now that I have kids and still schedule our fall Saturday's around our games drives my wife crazy.  At least my older boy (2 and a half) says GO BLUE DADDY! every Saturday when I get him out of bed and get his UM jersey out of his dresser.

clint copenhaver

in response to a copenhaver reference - i was a freshman at brighton high school when clint was a junior. for a few months during that year he dated a freshman female who was two lockers down from me. he took up so much space while visiting her between classes that i could barely get my books. thanks for the memories, i'm glad i never played football against that guy.

Pai Gow

If you're on the road for work and want to kill time your best bet is Pai Gow. I've played it for hours in Vegas and in smaller casinos around the Midwest and you can play for a while without risking too much money (but knowing you won't win a lot). The dealers will always help you and you end up pushing most of the time. If the casino offer the casino offers the bonus bet (pays out straight or better) I'd suggest don't play it. Odds aren't good you'll get a straight flush. Whatever you do don't play the Texas Hold 'Em (against the dealer) or Caribbean Stud, I've always tried the gimmick games but every dealer I've talked to in Vegas swears that those two are terrible games in terms of odds for the players. I believe them because most of the dealers at the casinos on the strip take their money and gamble at the local joints and they know the odds.

Ordering from MDen

I just wanted to say that I'm glad that M-Den and MGoBlog have teamed up. I live in St. Louis so Michigan gear isn't exactly easy to find, I ordered a shirt for myself and an outfit for my 18 month old son last week. I also replied to their order confirmation email that I was glad they were sponsoring the site, Doug then emailed me back personally to say thanks for the order!

Montgomery Inn

Not a Cincinnati native but I have to agree re: Montgomery Inn, some of the best BBQ sauce I've ever had.
