Let's give Bredeson some credit here

It's not like Newsome is some 6'2 280 lb. Rodriguez recruit.  Sure, maybe we don't have Cam Robinson at LT but I feel with having Harbaugh and Drevno you could always do A LOT WORSE on the OL.  I feel confident whoever wins the job will progress dramatically throughout the season.

It's the big

German and Norweigian genes.  Also a good amount of Swiss.  Well, when you don't produce a lot of skill position talent, you have to produce somewhere right?

Phelps is the

More impressive Olympian.  Swimming  bias here not knowing anything about it, but I think Bolt as just a pure physical specimen and what he accomplished in terms of peak performance, will never be touched again.  At least not for centuries.  You're talking about a guy who is shattering world records and celebrating when he's still got 10 meters to run.  For how little Bolt actually is competing I've never been more impressed with an athlete with the amount of time he actually has to show his brilliance.

Landing Martin

Would be a nice pick up, but the 2 guys I'm really high on are Tarik Black and Markquese Bell.  Lanky, explosive, Michigan looking receivers right there.

Interesting

I think Stueber and Herbert could be our best lineman from this class if we sign all 7 of our guys on our board.  Wilson will we be good, Ruiz I could see as a dominant center.  But I think the 2 previously mentioned guys have the highest ceiling.  Even Hall looks like a stud to me.  Honigford, I don't know obviously he'll put on the much needed size, but he is still so damn skinny, almost too skinny.

Just looking at his body

And the improvements he's made in the weight room in 2 months have my jaw dropped.  If this kid can develop just one move he can hang his hand on outside of brute force and quickness and he can be a top overall pick.  BIG Beware.

I don't know about that

Clowney was stupid fast.  Rashan definitely has the advantage in brute strength and probably work ethic as well.

Give Ben credit intitially

He does stop Rashan initially, he just couldn't handle the inside move.  Impressed for the future.  BTW does anyone know how to pronounce Bredeson's last name?  Is it Bread-uh-son like how they might have butchered it at Signing of the Stars or is it Braid-uh-son like how I've heard it pronounced in my neck of the woods in Wisconsin, which is ironically where he is from.

You know that's what

Really bugs me.  People like you attack other people on this board for initiating an original opinion and you judge his character off of one comment that wasn't in ill taste at all.  So it doesn't bother him, who are you to tell him what he needs to feel emotionally.  Other people have different tolerances, he wasn't attacking your opinion so why attack him?

Considering

We don't have to worry about this scenario this year bc we will beat them both I don't really care.  Let those peasants decide what they're going to do with their season.

OMFG

Please stop with the sarcastic until we beat our rivals shit.  Seriously not funny anymore, never really was tbh.

That's how I look at it as well

Any loss on the schedule at this point or in the BIG title game would be a major disappointment.  Get to the playoffs and it's pandomonium and anyones guess from there.

Totally agree with you

It's so refreshing going into a game with this coaching staff, knowing that if our team is relatively healthy and we have the talent advantage we WILL win.  You never guarantee wins, that's why they play the games as Herm Edwards says, but with this coaching staff it's as close as guarantee as you can get when mentioning the previously stated factors.

Any else tired of this conservative shit?

We went 10-3 last year.  Why isn't everyone in the country let alone this board all on the hype train for an undefeated regular season and BIG title?  I get it, nobody can predict the future and technically that would make my guess as good as anyone elses.  I just can't help but get the sense when I see anyone predicting less than an undefeated record through the first 13 games, I get a sense of If not now, when?  Can I see us losing to Iowa?  Sure, but I'm not going to predict it.  Same thing for OSU?  I suppose but I'm still going to bet on us in that game.  As Harbaugh says you need to have dreams so big that people will laugh at you.  I guess all of this conservative talk irritates me because I think some fans don't truly understand how great we have it right now.  Embrace it.  Michigan is going to be dominant and anything less than 13-0 and BIG champs IMO is selling this team short and I would be a little disappointed if they didn't do it.  We're head and shoulders better than the 10 wln team we were last year.  Undefeated or bust is my motto.  Granted that's only through the first 13 games.  You can't really predict what's going to happen in the playoffs considering we have no idea who will even be there.

It's an anxiety riddled nightmare for me

I just had one about my pro team in the Packers but it's always the same.  There's always something that makes me unable to watch the game in my dream.  Either for some reason I can't find the right channel, something breaks, I have homework to do that I can't seem to finish.  It's always something preventing me from cherishing the first week of football.  I always get them this week, before the first week of preseason games.

I feel as though

If maybe we just had faster linebackers that game maybe we wouldn't need to emphasize a trap scheme with our corners or blame Durkin for that game.  But that's just me.

Did anyone else

Notice the "no opinion" from Gus Malzahn.  Perfectly sums up all the ignorance and stupidity of SEC coaches.

After reading these previews

All I can see is talent, talent, talent.  Makes you think what these teams would be without all the unliimited NFL talent down south.

Jesus

Do you realize how big and mean of a team we're going to field in 2018?

That's because

1. Harbaugh hasn't coached in college as long as Urban so less qb's to coach and 2. The caliber of player out of high school that Urban has gotten is much higher than what Harbaugh has worked with so far.  Harbaugh has worked with one 4 star or higher recruit in Andrew Luck in which turned him into a number 1 pick and implemented philsophies that I'm sure still stick with Andrew and the reason he's still successful.

Urban also by fact has developed a college quarterback into a number 1 pick with Alex Smith.  However, however, Smith was nothing in the NFL until, you guessed it, Harbaugh was able to coach him.  In the coming years where Harbaugh can consistently recruit his own guy with players like Peters and McCaffrey and develop them their whole careers, you're probably going to see a smorgasbord of first rd. draft picks with highly sucessful college and NFL careers.

Urban needs a specific type of player in order to run his cut and dry system.  He needs a big arm quarterback who can bring the threat of the read option.  When his quarterbacks don't have that and the defenses figure it out the production slows down.  We all saw how stale OSU's offense got when Cardale got too fat and the element of the read option was taken away.  Also not sure if many of you remember this but at UF Urban also played a guy by the name of John Brantley who wasn't extremely mobile either and you guessed it, UF's offense struggled.

Sure Harbaugh I imagine has a preferance for what he likes in a quarterback but it probably has nothing to do with how well you can run a specific set of plays.  If you have athletic instinct and are a hard worker and a leader Harbaugh will want you.  He will then give you the right tools that will translate to any level or atmosphere of football.

If you want a quarterback

You go to Harbaugh.  He's turned some of the least naturally talented quarterbacks relative to the talent they're playing against (A. Smith, Rudock) and turned them into effcient and even sometimes deadly passers.  Alex Smith gets hurt and within a week the niners add to their playbook with the pistol and gets even better results with Colin Kaepernick a true dual threat.  Point is I don't care what offense you're running I want Harbaugh working with the quarterbacks.  Plus Urban hasn't shown anything in the NFL and hasn't worked with anything outside of option athletes with big arms.

Awesome sign

He has such a beautiful stroke.  I feel this guy will be a stud.

As a Packers fan

This totally blows.  If you're a die hard football fan like I am then you've been waiting for the start of this for the past few weeks now.  Just waiting for any semblance of football to be viewed on my TV screen that I haven't seen before.  So disappointed and pissed at the HOF that they couldn't do a simple job of creating a playable surface.  Now I have to wait a hole nother week just to get my football fix.  FML.

Crawford

At 195 is a very good thing.  He's one of predicted freshman receivers that will play this year.

I'm down

Hell let's do it.

In some perspectives no

It is not a bad thing to be associated with Saban but from a different perspective one could say it's a slap in the face.  No one can coach like Harbaugh.  Those of us in the maize and blue nation understand that.  Give Harbaugh Alabama's talent last year and their average margin of victory is 30 points and give Saban our guys last year and he goes 6-6.  Truth.

Harbaugh is the most

Genuine and pragmatic coach out there among other things.  It's the first two qualities that I think really make him stand out.  Everything he says he means and everything he says or does is thought out and has a direct purpose.  He gets it.  The enthusiasm no one else can match in everything he does is the cherry on top.  I'm so happy he's our guy and his impact on football is priceless.

Ya on a pass

That was underthrown.  Harris had his guy beat.  O'Korn under threw it to make it look like a back shoulder.  Harris made a great adjustment on it.

I am truly sick of hearing about O'Korn

If he becomes the starter then fine, best man wins.  All I've heard all offseason from seemingly 90% of this board is that O'Korn while everyone kind of pussy foots around it if they really think he's the best option, will win the starting job.  So we've heard the rumblings of last year that O'Korn looked the best when he was on the scout team.  So what?  Speight looked decidedly better in the Spring game and has more potential to show than O'Korn does.  O'Korn doesn't have the feel in the pocket like Speight does and don't let your early observations of Speight fool you.  His release has gotten rocket fast under Harbs and is throwing a crisp ball.  I don't see a big arm from O'Korn and quite frankly not a lot of poise aka the same stuff I saw in both years of his film at Houston.  Different situation, Harbaugh, Pro Style I get that, but everyone now has that advantage.  I don't mean to be so negative but like I said seemingly everyone has given O'Korn the pass on the starting job bc you all fell in love with the whole best qb on the team last season rumblings.  While I don't doubt those rumblings, that was last season and O'Korn had 2 years of actual game experience under his belt, Speight had basically none, plus O'Korn has been in college a season extra too.  I'd expect O'Korn to hit the ground running faster than Speight last year.  So, combined with what I saw in the Spring Game which showed me Speight's potential skillset and O'Korn's reluctance to stay in the pocket(granted makeshift line yes) I going for Speight between these 2.  Hell it could be Peters for all we know.  Kid showed some serious tools in his limited snaps.  Think about the muscle he's put on over the summer and the extra reps he's taken since April albeit just throwing sessions.

Thoughts

Love that we changed to Jumpman obviously, however I'm a little disappointed in a few things.  There's not an away uni with the maize pants.  Maybe we will wear them and they just didn't feel like combining a manican with that combo.  Also would love to see an alternate for the road.  Maybe blue pants?  Maybe a chrome blue facemask?  I don't think that would look cheesy at all.  In fact USC has a chrome facemask and it looks absolutely bad ass.  Kind of letdown though that the style is completely the same as it was, at least for now.  Shoes, and gloves are a nice touch though.

Holy shit these are sweet

Now we need a cleat with the Nike logo too though that's looks as bad ass as these.  I'm sure crootz are noticing.

Goddamnit Nike

Why do you make me wait for the good stuff?  Waiting for football is already enough.  I think I might die from anticipation of this football season.  Just appease me I need things to help the off season!

Agreed

All we have to do is look back at last year to understand.  We lose to Utah by a TD week 1 in Utah.  We play that game in January at a neutral site and it's probably as ugly for them as it was for Florida.  Then again that was Harbaugh's first year as coach and probably as less talented of a team as he will ever see in Ann Arbor, if you can believe that.  That's why the big boys like the Alabama's of the CFB world usually open up with a nationally televised game.  They can compete year in year out.  We're about to see that at Michigan.  Don't worry our teams are actually going to be prepared and talented enough to beat top 10 teams week 1.

I'm going with

59-7.  Hawaii will have flown roughly 20 hrs once they set foot in Ann Arbor.  Not too mention our team is as hungry, talented, well coached as I've ever seen it.  I predict 28-0 by the end of the first quarter tbh.  Hawaii is going to be so tired from flying and thinking that it's six in the morning that they won't even be awake until it's 42-0 at half.  I feel bad for those guys, is Dave Brandon their AD or something.  What stupid scheduling.

The list grows

JD, Butt, Darboh, Peppers, Chesson, Glasgow, Wormley.  Just a great bunch of guys.  If we do something big this year, we're going to look back in 5 years and remember these guys were a big reason why.

It just has to be interesting

I feel confident Rashan will go blue, recruits just know they have to make it interesting for ESPN purposes.  If that wasn't the case then why does just about every recruit have multiple hats/press conference filled with anticipation?  Yes, Clemson's in the running mainly because of his uncle, but that's just window dressing imo.  He'll go blue and we'll all ride off into the sunset on the harbaugh train.

Come on Really?

I don't understand why a Michigan kid wouldn't want to play for Harbaugh?  He took a noodle arm Rudock and turned him into Michigan's all-time single season passing leader.  Fine, have fun getting destroyed with your Spartan friends for 4 years.
