The problem is Jim harbaugh…

The problem is Jim harbaugh.  He can’t handle the pressure. Have you ever noticed that people who spend a lot of time talking about x are usually not very good at x? Harbaugh talks about discipline, strength and “steel in your spine”.  But no one who is that way complains like he does — about reporters’ questions (eg, claims insults for asking fair questions) bad spots,  etc.  He’s not strong and he’s not disciplined. And his teams follow suit.  He was supposed to come in here and build a fearless machine - take no prisoners, competition for competition’s sake.  Instead we get conservative play calls, fear of failure and lack of discipline.  Yes, it’s him.  He talks a lot about it because he can’t do it.

Does anyone know what the MSU AD said at the Spartan banquet about his 1973 Rose Bowl vote?  I haven't heard that one, and Bacon didn't explain.

That's right. Forgot about that. He was the one who brought the others in.  It was obvious also that he was the mature one of the group, not only as to personal matters but his game as well.  The others were relying on their physical gifts while Howard was working on the tactics of the game.   Remembering that, I'm not surprised at all about his success in the NBA, nor worried about his success at Michigan.  Go Blue!

This is fantastic.  Thanks…

This is fantastic.  Thanks so much.  Makes me understand why people say Harbaugh's offense is boring.  They don't understand it.  It's like taking some chess pieces, putting pads on them and letting them go at it!

Thank you Brian.  I've been…

Thank you Brian.  I've been going only once a year for the past five years and I can't take it anymore.  I know it was warm, but I didn't notice it so much when there was an actual game going on.  No one, be it MI or the Big Ten, concerned about the dwindling attendance has ANY right to complain.   The number of media timeouts is ridiculous.  I'm not sure there were more than three plays without a break.

And the breaks are intolerable.  I appreciate the need for exciting music and to make sure we stay in the 21st century but maybe break it up a bit - not the same type of music all the time; (ii) find more ways to engage the student section (OK, it's not Boston or Wisky but a sing along or dance along, any sing along or dance along, is better than someone's idea of the "latest, cool music" blaring for no reason, other than it's someone's idea of the latest, cool music; (iii) mike the damn bad, for "goshsakes", get the same 21st century volume but with a little bit of tradition; and (iv) bring it down BEFORE the play starts.  Right now it's loud music for the sake of loud music.

Anyway, thanks for the article and sorry to vent.  But had to.  By the way, if anyone knows where to send complains, let me know.  I'd love to pass on.  It's such a great stadium and tradition, we can do better.

Wi game Don’t care what anyone says. He has the resources, he’s paid the money, he needs to do better. Can handle losing but fight for gods sake. Where is that? Where is the improvement? Why do they regress in the second half? Again, stop with the damn war story podcasts with dear old dad and earn your money.
Clip: MI v MI State - Woodson Pick

Still my favorite part of the clip is the reaction of the ref.  You can see that his gaze follows Woodson all the way down to his getting the needed one foot in bounds.   And then he signals change of  possession with gusto, as if to say, you won't believe it and I sure as heck don't beleive it but this guy actually did that!

Harbaugh It's hubris and over satisfaction. He's in a nice position, he's enjoying it and he's forgetten the things that got him there. He's got his parents down the street, free trips to meet the pope for he and them, his young kids going to the school where he grew up, one son coaching under him (at RB, a position he's knows nothing about), another, a theater major at the the best theater school in the country, podcasts with his dad to tell old war stories, YouTube channel showing fun family events. Nice. And he can't be doing all that and studying film, scheming new offenses, training quarterbacks, at least probably not to the extent when he was at SD or Stanford, so he's delegated. He's been smelling the roses too much and has been outsmarted, outworked and out coached. Let's not forget that MSU is similarly young and it's young talent isn't that of MI's, yet they were he aggressors, they were the ones with a plan. it's a lot like the free agent who get his dream situation, is no longer as hungry as he was before and it shows.
Play calling If I see one more fade called into the end zone I'm gonna puke.
