What about Brian Smith? Didn't he leave as well?

12/16/2017 - 12:23pm QB decisions

I have ridden Alex Smith all year to the #1 seed. With his play lately, I think l may need a change this week. I can play Smith, Nick Foles, Blake Bortles, Jimmy Garropalo or Winston. If Fournette can't go, I was going to go with Bortles against a horrible Houston pass defense.

What do you all think.

12/11/2017 - 4:22pm When Spindler was on WTKA

When Spindler was on WTKA (Pre-Valenti) he had Spielman on and they talked about "team building" while they were Lions. One of the competitions was who could hold their eyes open the longest while looking into the jets during a whirlpool set to high.

I a summer job working in the Deli department of Whole Foods in Rochester and he would come in all the time. He ordered 5lbs of Proscuitto di Parma ($19.99 a pound back in the day). I had it weighed out and tagged when he looked around, asked if I had it weighed yet. I shook yes my head and he grabbed a handful and shoved it in his mouth. He then looked at me and said "Don't tell my wife, she's just around the corner."

The guy was a riot.

02/04/2017 - 6:04pm Millington grad here as well

Class of '92. Played in one of the best games I have played in against Muth as a senior. Munger's teams were always well coached.

Never been a fan of either chicken place, but Tiffany's is a great place to eat.

08/06/2014 - 11:40am Two games that stick out for me

My first game was the 1979 game against Wisconsin.  I was five and remember very little.  My parents, who had season tickets up through the 1975 season wanted to take me so they went down on a whim, bought some tickets there, and went to the game.  It was a blowout as Michigan won 54-0 (had to look it up).

The game that stands out for me the most was the 1991 game against Purdue.  Not that it was a great game or anything, but my coach got us recruiting tickets (he knew someone in the program and took a couple of us down for each game).  I got to be recruited by Michigan for a game.  It was awesome.  We toured the facilities, got to go out on the field, had then assistant coach Lloyd Carr come in and talk to us.  I remember being in the tunnel with the Purdue players!.  The best was being anble to see two of my favorite players, Tyrone Wheatley and Desmond play live.  Seats on the 50 yard line. Michigan won big (42-0). It was a hell of a day!

04/19/2014 - 7:39pm I believe that JB will play

I believe that JB will play the best lineup for the program.  You seem not to think that, correct?

04/19/2014 - 6:33pm I am not following you.

So are saying Brunson and Coleman potential one and dones or are they 3-4 year players?  Or are you saying they are one and done talents that will be here for 3 - 4 years?  Are you saying they will be starters or role players/depth.  If you are saying they will start from day 1, then how are you saying they will be 3-4 year players?  Most players that start from day one in an established program aren't 3-4 year players.  Or are you saying that they aren't good enough for early entry to The NBA? If they aren't, then can't we find someone else at their talent level? Please clarify.

04/19/2014 - 5:58pm Last time I trust Wikipedia.

Last time I trust Wikipedia over my own memory.  They had under JB's page UM going to the 2nd round in 2012.

04/19/2014 - 5:51pm Yet, that's what you are

Yet, that's what you are saying Brunson doesn't want.  In your arguement, Duke and Kansas would never have gotten Brunson in their championship years because their role layers were highy recruited?  So you want us to recruit depth and role players like bluebloods (everybody is highly ranked), but always have openings and no depth in case highly ranked want a clear path to the starting job.

I understand now.

04/19/2014 - 5:37pm Yet both Kansas and Duke have

Yet both Kansas and Duke have not based their blueblood status on one and done's.  Most of their championships have come from great players surrounded by great role players.

04/19/2014 - 5:10pm His success is unsustained?

His success is unsustained?  In his 12 years coaching major D1 basketball, Beilein has been to the NCAA Tourney 7 times, never losing in the first round.  He took BB power WVU to both the Sweet 16 and the Elite 8 in consecutive years.  He has led UM to the sweet 16 in just under half (3) of his seven years as coach.  He knows what he is doing.

Here is a a snippet from Pro Football Talk (from Tuesday)

Both the Detroit News and Detroit Free Presshave stories today suggesting not only that Whisenhunt could be the next coach, but even that the Lions may have already reached out to Whisenhunt, the former Cardinals head coach and current Chargers offensive coordinator.

07/30/2013 - 12:45pm More than a theme, IMO

There are many clues in the books that, if looked closely enough, does lead to L + R = J.  I think there is only one charecter left that may know the truth.  Someone that was with E when he found L, and that's H R.

The chapter in SoS where Myra told the story of the Harrenhal Tournement was huge in clues of the basis of the entire series.  Very important chapter.

06/20/2013 - 1:13pm My long Go To Joke

Two Yoopers died and were sent to Hell for drinking cheap beer.  The devil takes them to their room and leaves.  He checks on them the next day and was dismayed to find them sitting back and relaxing.  Perplexed, he says "I have souls screaming, crying, and gnashing their teeth because of the heat, yet you two are sitting here comfortable as can be in your snowsuits and swampers.  What gives?"

The two Yoopers reply "Well, you know we come from da land of da ice and snow.  Dis nice warm weather is such a nice change from da cold up dere in da UP!"

The devil loves a good challenge so he decides to turn the heat up and checks on them the next day.  To his dismay again, the devil sees them in jeans and t-shirts, but happy never the less.  He asks again, "What gives?"

The two Yoopers reply "We told you yesterday we come from da land of da ice and snow.  Dis nice heat is someting we can get used to!"

Angry, the devil turns up the heat all the way.  He hears the wailing, screaming and gnashing of the teeth all night.  Excited to see the two Yoopers suffer, he opens the door and to his shock, he sees the Yoopers in their skivvies looking very content.  Angry, he asks them why they aren't screaming, wailing, and gnashing their teeth.

They reply in an arrogant tone "Like we've been telling you, we come from da land of da ice and da snow!  Dis warm spell yous guys are having is like going to da ocean down in dat Florida down dere!"

Then it dawns on the devil, if they want it hot, then he will turn off the heat completely!  He hears the chattering of teeth instead and is convinced he has taken care of those Yoopers.  He comes to their room the next morning and hears screaming and yelling.  With a smug grin, he opens the door to find the two Yooper back in their snowsuits and swampers jumping up and down celebrating!

Confounded, he askes them "I turn up the heat all the way and you love it!  I tune the heat off and you are celebrating!  You must be two of the toughest souls I have encountered!"

The Yoopers look at him and reply "Nope, we are just so happy right now! Hell has frozen over!  Dat means Da Lions have one Da Superbowl!"

Adoree' Jackson - USC - Agree, but it's not a slam dunk.  I think Mattison and Peppers have him thinking.

John "Juju" Smith - USC - Agree because I really don't know much about him

Malik McDowell - Michigan - Agree, as a 3 tech.

Joe Mixon - USC - Sure, I guess so as I haven't followed his recruitmen much.

Jamarco Jones- Ohio St - Yup, and O-Zone/11 Warriors will be here in droves talking smack that this proves that Urban is a recruiting god.

Garrett Dickerson - Stanford - Agree

Artavis Scott - Michigan - Agree unless Canteen commits before he does.

Parrker Westphal - Michigan - Agree unless Jackson commits to Michigan.

KJ Williams - Michigan - Only if they lose out on Scott.  If Scott commits, KJ is elsewhere.

Kalen Ballage- Oregon - If they offer, yes.  If not?  Michigan is right there.

Darrion Owens - Georgia - Don't know much of his recruitment.

Braden Smith- ND - Agree

Jonathan Hilliman- Ohio St - Agree

06/07/2013 - 6:12pm Seeing what your father

Seeing what your father likes, I would stay away from some of the more bitter Pale Ales.  I love Two Hearted Ale, but it is pretty bitter.  Oberon is always a good choice as it's pretty palatable to most.  Bells Best Brown Ales is awesome as well.  Staying with Bell's, their Java Stout and Cream Ale is awesome, but you might not be able to find them.  The Oberon and Brown Ale can be found readily out of Michigan.

Short's and Founder's beers are being distributed out of Michigan a little now and Founder's Dirty Bastard and Breakfast Stouts are mainstays.  Shorts Huma - Lupa - licious is very good as well.

One of the best beers I have had recently is Jolly Pumpkin's La Roja.  Doubt if you could find it out state.  If you can, get him that.  Very different but smooth.

Here is Bells Beer Finder.  They do sell it in Georgia.  Good Luck!
