Not ideal when you are "just a shooter"

Well sounds like Tschetter…

Well sounds like Tschetter is probably leaving too.

Especially when Sanderson's…

Especially when Sanderson's son is a top 50 recruit for 2026.

Here is not a wild one: Dawn Staley.

I'd be fine with bringing…

I'd be fine with bringing Brown back as the first interior OL off the bench, but not as an expected starter at guard. He gets pushed back constantly, and while he is at least able to avoid giving up sacks and full-on pressures which made his PFF grade look decent, Jared Goff + the center of the pocket getting pushed back was and will always be a bad combo. I'd prefer an interior lineman who will give up a few more sacks, but otherwise much more reliably maintain the integrity of the pocket down-to-down to allow Goff to stay on platform and step into his throws.

Austin Davis' brother who is…

Austin Davis' brother who is committed to Wright State finished 3rd in the vote. Might need to offer him with the way things are going.

Not what I would call a…

Not what I would call a boring safety, he would make a couple of small but noticeable mistakes, then make a small but noticeable good play, and then come up with a great pivotal play. All that happening while playing limited snaps as a backup. Anything but boring.

Nix over McCarthy is a joke…

Nix over McCarthy is a joke. Nix is 3 years older! In Bo's age 20 season he went for 12 TDs/7 INTs with under 60% completions. Compared to JJ going for 22/5 and completing well over 70%. Oh, and quarterbacking a team to an undefeated championship season.

Only thing I can think of is…

Only thing I can think of is they think he needs to wind up/get his body into the throw for that plus arm strength to show up rather than being able to easily let it rip with a standard, quicker release.

You aren't familiar with…

You aren't familiar with Barstool staples like "Local Smokeshow of the Day", "Twerk Tuesdays", "Guess That Ass", and "Guess That Rack", featuring images posted without permission? Or the frequent mockery of women's sports (particularly the WNBA) and the hate/bullying of female broadcasters and journalists?

And then this quote from a blog post by Dave Portnoy himself in 2010: “I never condone rape, but if you are a size 6 and wearing skinny jeans you kind of deserve to be raped, right?” When the quote was later repeated to him in an interview, Portnoy replied: "Correct. I stand by it. It's a funny joke."

Barstool relishes frat bro…

Barstool relishes frat bro irreverence, intentionally toes the line (and frankly steps over it), and is frequently misogynistic. Their goal is generally to entertain rather than to educate, unless you enjoy gambling discussions. Portnoy's unabashed passion for Michigan and trolling of rivals can be enjoyable to watch at times, but overall Barstool isn't producing content that enriches the MGoBlog experience.

Meanwhile, the Free Press has long eschewed journalistic integrity in favor of using a few contrarian, negative sports columnists over the years who would describe every molehill as a mountain and often write hot-takes aiming to rile up audiences for attention, an all to common trend plaguing sports media.

They are going with the…

They are going with the Texas A&M approach, get the best team money can buy. The Aggies couldnt figure out how to manage all the egos and other issues that come from that. Will be interesting to see how OSU does with it. The thing is that a lack of talent hasn't been their issue - toughness has been and guys who are drawn in by the money usually aren't the toughest...

Much rather have Dusty May,…

Much rather have Dusty May, but his alma mater Indiana might be in the market for a new coach too...

Like with the old "North vs…

Like with the old "North vs South" senior bowls, players are still split into a northern squad (the "National" team this year) and a southern squad ("American" team this year) based on the location of their school. However some players end up with the opposite team based on how the roster shakes out and to account for players that sit out the game to keep depth charts balanced.

The "North" and "South" team names were dropped to avoid any negative connotations to the civil war... not joking. Apparently a "North vs South" sporting event triggers some people and hurts their feelings real bad, poor things.

Seniors with eligibility…

Seniors with eligibility remaining that instead decide to move on from college pretty much always "declare for the draft" no matter their prospects.

He has his degree and has been in AA for 5 years already. His stock probably was not going to improve much as a 24 year old 6th year senior even if he got a ton more playing time as he doesn't have ideal NFL physical traits. He almost certainly realizes there is a good chance he goes undrafted. But he is ready to move on in life and will at the very least get invited to training camp somewhere with a shot to make an impression.

Quentin had a really good year. Not the most talented player but still was an underrated key to winning the championship. For a backup he had a knack for making important plays, a few very noticeable ones and a bunch of less noticeable ones.

I doubt Herbert got much of…

I doubt Herbert got much of a raise, if at all, but he is probably envisioning the potential of opening his own private gym in LA that he operates alongside his NFL duties. It's not uncommon for strength coaches to run private gyms on the side, and being in LA as a renowned strength coach he will be able to attract top athletes and rich clientele.

Dusty May, please…

Dusty May, please. Midwestern guy who started as a student manager under Bob Knight, first assistant coaching gig was at EMU, and now has made Florida Atlantic relevant.

That was just a short term…

That was just a short term thing, for the past few years Raising Cane's has brought in stars from NCAA champions (Stetson Bennett, Angel Reese, etc.) to work a shift at a location shortly after winning the title. It has absolutely no bearing on him potentially returning next year.

In the clip of the team…

In the clip of the team celebrating in the locker room in Roman Wilson's Rose Bowl vlog when Harbaugh shouts "Who's got it better than us?" it kinda looks like Santa replies "NO-FUCKIN'-BODY!"

He wasn't highly rated by…

You are right there was some disappointment, not at all with Jenkins just with the desire to get a DT that could contribute right away. He wasn't highly rated by the recruiting sites, but as the son of 4x NFL Pro Bowl DT Kris Jenkins and nephew of longtime starting NFL DE/DT and Super Bowl champ Cullen Jenkins, there was plenty of optimism about his potential once he bulked up (he was listed at only 240 lbs at the time).

Jordan Glasgow was a S/LB, I think you got him mixed up with another walk-on younger brother in Jess Speight, or maybe 250 lb FB turned DT Ben Mason.

Walk-on Jesse Madden,…

Walk-on Jesse Madden, grandson of John.

Stalions had listed Blake…

Stalions had listed Blake and his "BC2" brand as a business partner. Blake said he was not aware of any partnership.

He has a great attitude…

He seemed to have a great attitude despite not getting playing time. Was hoping he would stick around, he has talent.

"Best arm talent" - nope,…

"Best arm talent" - nope, great arm but this QB class is full of legit NFL arms

"Best head talent" (lol) - nope, at least not from a reading the game perspective, now demeanor and leadership, sure

"Top 2 athlete" - in a draft class with Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels? C'mon now.

Johnson has really stepped…

Johnson has really stepped up this year and I can see the coaching staff preferring to go with him in crunch time, but the fact it was Sabb that got the other 4th quarter snaps at that safety spot instead of the more reliable Paige suggests he wasn't able to play.

Washington is already saying…

Washington is already saying Dillon Johnson is going to play, he has been battling that foot injury pretty much all season but hasn't missed a game.

Good news is he was at least…

Good news is he was at least able to stand on the sidelines with his helmet on for the rest of the game, however after the final 4th down stop while the rest of the team ran onto the field to celebrate he was slowly walking and appeared to have a slight limp.

Unfortunately their roster…

Unfortunately their roster is one of the lowest paid. Their four highest paid players wouldn't start anywhere else.

It's there, but only for…

It's there, but only for MGoBlog Platinum members. It will unlock after 24 hours for the plebeians.

"I want our injured senior…

"I want our injured senior captain Zak Zinter, behind you there, to receive the trophy"

Prior to the season he was…

Prior to the season he was somehow getting hyped up as one of the top QB prospects, but Miami fans seemed totally over him by the latter part of the season.

His greatest strength is…

His greatest strength is also his greatest weakness. He is capable of making insanely good plays, but they are insane because of the difficulty and risk involved, and inevitably sometimes it goes insanely bad.

I like his potential as a…

I like his potential as a slashing scorer once he adds strength to make up for his lack of explosiveness - his frame looks good for adding a lot of muscle. His handle is already pretty good and his jumper should develop enough to at least keep defenses honest on the perimeter opening up better driving opportunities. Defensive instincts and footwork seem good too. I could see him being a similar college player to Khris Middleton.

VERY unsportsmanlike to use such vulgar language on national tv, the Joint Executive Council of the Big Ten has voted to suspend Sherrone Moore for the remainder of the regular season.

Holy cow that is a major…

Holy cow that is a major coup for the Tigers. Benetti is one of the best in biz. And when he is on national game duty we get Dickerson in the tv booth. Matt Shepherd was great doing Michigan hoops on the radio but baseball did not suit him.

Big V may not be "injured"…

Big V may not be "injured" but he is probably still dealing with the residual effects from having various injuries over the past few seasons, including back problems/surgery that kept him out last season. Not hurt, but not 100% and Glasgow is playing great.

Great shooter who might be…

Great shooter who might be too small to draw NBA interest? Sign me up. Also has a younger brother who is pretty good.

I have been waiting and hoping for Michigan to bring out the UNO reverse card.

Good for Bobby Knight (rip). But it's not the 1980s anymore. Having a bunch of limited talented hustling upper classmen isn't a recipe for success.

Hoping for the best. At least the hood of the guy's car and her bright red hair will stand out in the search for them.

Future Big Ten player of the…

Future Big Ten player of the year Youssef Khayat is getting more than 6 minutes a game! The staff seems to love Tschetter for some reason - yeah he plays hard but it often seems to do more harm than good lol - so he will get a handful of minutes too.

It's not super uncommon, MSU…

It's not super uncommon, MSU has an unfilled spot this year and I believe did last year as well. But Michigan has 2 open spots which... is not ideal

Coaching staff will have to…

Coaching staff will have to experiment quite a bit with lineups, kind of an awkward group of players. Can Khayat play the 2 in some matchups? Who will spell Reed at center? Can Llewellyn come back and make perimeter shots? Is Washington ready enough to play early to get his much needed shooting on the floor? Best lineup (decent defense, mediocre offense) would seem to be:

1: McDaniel (Burnett, Llewellyn)

2: Burnett (Llewellyn, Washington)

3: Jackson (Khayat, Howard)

4: Nkamhoua (Williams, Tschetter)

5: Reed (Nkamhoua)

Llewellyn will probably play more off-guard with Dug and Burnett playing most PG minutes. Hopefully Khayat proves to be a shotmaker and Nkamhoua is serviceable playing the 5 part-time since Jackson isn't really according to Seton Hall fans. Hard to envision even being in the bubble conversation, but I think there is enough talent to get a couple nice upset wins at least in what will probably be a .500 at best season.

Weiss was investigated by university police for computer access crimes. The alleged sign stealing is being investigated by the NCAA for a rule violation.

Sheila deserves a TON of…

Sheila deserves a TON of credit. Hired Campbell and Holmes, two rather unproven candidates met with plenty of skepticism (especially Campbell) but who she thought was right and gave them all the support in the world to set them up for success. She agreed to finance a ton of behind the scenes upgrades that Holmes and Campbell requested, improving many departments the franchise was lagging behind in. She has been fully engaged in the team BUT without interfering. Exactly what you want in an owner. When the team started rough last season fans started doubting again, but Sheila publicly stuck her neck out saying that she fully believed in the culture that was being built and that they were on the cusp of a turnaround. That was met with plenty of disgust and mockery from fans, but also appreciation from some. Turned out to be pretty prescient.
