05/03/2018 - 3:48pm That's what gets me

It's one thing for GMs to not want to take the risk and pass as a result...it's another entirely to pretend you know better than the highly trained experts in the medical and then call the Raiders "irresponsible" as if they have some moral high ground for not drafting the guy. You don't. You're just upset a guy you wanted but passed on due to a potential health risk was taken by somebody else who is willing to take the risk...you think that if you can't have him nobody should. That's just jealousy and bitterness, not some altruistic "player safety" BS.

05/03/2018 - 2:55pm Ehhh

Look, I hate Crosby as much as the next guy, but I'm not so sure he spat in that video. When tensions are high words get exchanged, and it's not surprising if a little spittle is spewn in the process.

I mean, Brad Marchand has been literally licking people this playoff season. Please direct your ire towards him.

I do enjoy seeing the Pens lose and Crosby revert to his true self though.

03/07/2018 - 5:20pm I dunno dude...

"What do you stand for? What do you stand for? If you stand for nothing, Burr, what'll you fall for?"

That seems much more applicable to Izzo as Burr than the other way around...

01/18/2018 - 9:42pm Eh, it was more than just that

HIs demeanor was off. He's an uber competetive guy, even with a young team I would be expecting him to show some fire on the sidelines. There was almost nothing. Not a single gifable moment. Two years prior we had multiple entries to choose from each week.

He needed to tone it down a bit, but it wasn't just that. His demeanor was off, and in some feelinsgball sort of way I think it rubbed off to the team too.

We need a fiery Harbaugh, no matter how young our team is.

01/01/2018 - 10:02pm A disaster of epic proportions?

Good lord dude go to bed. It was a glorified scrimmage against a decent opponent. It wasn’t the end times. They played a pretty bad game from players to coaches. There’s a lot to learn from here and changes needed, but maybe let’s tone done the sky is falling talk a wee bit.

12/06/2017 - 9:00pm Yeah, OSU should be in.

But I'm glad they're not. Because they benefitted from the shitty committee decision last year...they shouldn't benefit this year in the name of 'getting it right'.  It would have been the most OSU thing ever if the committee DID put them in after what happened just one year ago.

OSU has had far too much go its way that I'm ok with it this year even if it is objectively the wrong thing for the committee to do. Because fuck those guys.

12/05/2017 - 2:13pm When Peters got injured

It was 14-10.

So no, he wasn’t “on his way to a loss” necessarily. Emotions matter especially in college, and the team just lost their starting QB who was doing a decent job until that point of keeping his team competitive despite the run game being stymied.

11/28/2017 - 9:38pm This

Thank you so very much for saying this. To blame fans here is ludicrous...as with anything, this all stems from the person in charge. File it under the “people in charge of things are just in charge, for no reason”.

11/28/2017 - 2:30pm Dude

7-5 is still good improvement over 3-9. Besides even if those two extra wins had some luck involved...they still happened. Plus their other loss was a 3OT loss that could just as easily had been a win.

I wish M fans would wake up and realize the MSU’s coach is and has always been top tier (barf). Yes, last year happened. I don’t know why we all expected them to be just as bad this year. He basically had them playing at the same level as Michigan this year, with a bit more luck/execution at the right moments. Dude absolutely deserves to be commended, much as I can’t stand that man.

11/27/2017 - 11:06am What this reminds me of

Are the people who wanted RR gone after one year or Hoke gone after year 3.

Those coaches may have been fired, but they were wrong then and they're wrong now. RR wasn't fired for going 3-9...he was fired for failing to do anything in Big Ten play and fielding a historically bad defense in year 3. Hoke was fired for his disastrous  4th year with a cratering offense, most notably after he completely failed basic head coaching duties in his handling of Morris against Minnesota (not to mention the fact that he benched a 5th year senior for Morris...who proceeded to play not just worse, but exponentially worse).

Harbaugh's seat is not warm. It's not even close to warm. Any claim to the contrary is wrong and counterproductive. The program has a great coach...we need to give him the stability required to actually build something. Aspects have certainly been underwhelming, particularly against rivals...but sometimes the randomness of sports is a cruel mistress and you lose on a once-in-a-lifetime play, or a spot is incorrectly called by biased refs, or a monsoon descends onto your stadium when you need to lead a comeback, or you are down two QBs from injury and have to start your clearly-not-good-enough transfer.  I'm not saying Harbaugh is immune to criticism...but I do not want to hear about any "hot seats", unless you want a program that wallows in misery for another 2 decades after pushing away the one good thing that's happened to them in 20 years.

11/26/2017 - 7:38pm So of course

He’s coaching at Ohio State.

11/25/2017 - 5:31pm Or

Or perhaps a young team with depth/injury issues cannot remain as well-conditioned as more experienced opponents who regularly rotate personnel?

11/25/2017 - 3:59pm Fuck any talk of a hot seat

Seriously.

11/25/2017 - 3:56pm That was disappointing

Again why I think it’s on the players. Hurst is a senior...he’s an elite player. That was a huge mental error though.

11/25/2017 - 3:52pm A+

At some point it’s on the players. Coaches gave their team a chance to win it. Certainly not perfect, but that was a solid plan as a big underdog. Had the ball with 2 mins left and a chance to win it. Couldn’t get it done. Still too many unforced mental mistakes...but the plays were there to be made.

I was a bit disappointed the D couldn’t get stops, especially when the backup came in. Felt like Brown could have done better...but still the players just weren’t getting it done.

11/25/2017 - 3:38pm In the end

QB was the difference. It felt like JOK did the best he could. It wasn’t even close to enough.

I know Harbaugh is 0-3...but at some point it’s on the players. He put his team in a position to win today. They couldn’t get it done when it mattered.

Fuck.

11/25/2017 - 2:01pm Wtf are you talking about?

The ball was loose, Barret hadn’t fully recovered it yet. Late hit my ass.

11/25/2017 - 1:58pm Dumb

These things are both true. We haven’t played perfect, but Christ like 5 obvious things were missed in that quarter. Meanwhile we got two holding calls that weren’t even close to holds.

I get that officiating doesn’t explain everything, but every year, every DAMN year, it’s this same bs. Over time that shit should even out. It’s not. And it’s having an effect...possibly 3-7 points off the board because they didn’t call an obvious first down a first down. How about blocks in the back enabling them like 30 extra yards of free field position? This matters. It’s not the only thing, but it does.

11/25/2017 - 1:46pm I can’t stand this guys

It’s not enough that OSU is clearly the better program. We have to be fucked by the refs too every fucking year. That was a first down, the spot was fucking awful.

It’s not fun to watch a game where only one team gets the benefit of close calls.

11/25/2017 - 1:39pm Holding everywhere

Two missed ovipus blocks in the back. THEY DONT nEED HELP.

11/25/2017 - 1:39pm CALL A FUCKING PENALTY ON THEM

Holy fuck there are two teams refs!

11/25/2017 - 10:01am Prediction?

More points - not enough, OSU

11/21/2017 - 12:35pm I mean

Most of the time when you lose something looks really really bad. Because that's usually why you lose.

11/21/2017 - 12:30pm Fans are silly

I thought 9-3 was optimistic but attainable. Just because random people on the internet "expected" 10-2 doesn't mean we should hold the coach accountable for failing to meet unrealistic expectations.

p.s. Go away, troll. Go root for Washington State.

11/21/2017 - 12:27pm Harbaugh: Year 1.

Five-win improvement over the previous year, and one miraculously unlucky play away from an 11th win. All games (except OSU) were competetive. All while starting a fricking grad transfer at QB.

So soon we forget.

But yeah sure, we're not exceeding expectations this year, I definitely agree. We might have failed to meet expectations last year, but they were still like one FG try or one inch away from the championship game, so it wasn't some massive underperformance. And every loss was by a razor thin margin. Shit happens...it's sports. The best coaches and players in the world sometimes lose games like that. Tom motherfucking Brady took an undefeated team into a superbowl and lost to Eli Manning.

Thing is, you can't expect to always exceed expectations, because by that point your expectations aren't actually expected anymore.

11/20/2017 - 10:19am Because

They don’t deserve the high level of success they’ve enjoyed after Tressel got exposed for the lying cheat we all knew he was.

The Meyer hire was the single most infuriating thing that has ever happened in this rivalry (I know that’s debatable, but I’m not an old fan). They got caught and responded by lucking into a BETTER situation.

Fuck em.

11/18/2017 - 10:32pm People seem to conveniently forget

That before Harbaugh, we couldn’t even run against shitty teams. Even the beginning of this year, the OL just wasn’t good enough to get yards against inferior opponents.

So let’s not dismiss it as meaningless. It didn’t show today, but there HAS been improvement.

11/18/2017 - 6:41pm Yeah

But huge difference between random fan and former player.

Totally classless. He needs to shut the fuck up.

11/18/2017 - 5:50pm Anyone saying that last year?

Fuck no!

There’s a reason...last year was the year. Then we lost by a bad spot and I punched a door. I didn’t say “next year, guys”. I thought, “fuck that’s our best shot for 2 or 3 years!” Because when you lose over half your team and replace them with sophomores and freshman, no sane person would think “next year, guys.”

11/18/2017 - 5:45pm Damn you, Harbaugh!!!!!

*shakes fist*

11/18/2017 - 4:12pm Hot take alert!

So I guess if the ref spots that 4th down short we win because we “wanted it more”? Makes sense.

11/18/2017 - 4:09pm Jesus

No shit. Like, I get it was upsetting, but nothing that happened today was unexpected. Peters doesn’t get injured and I think they play close till the end. Probably still lose, but we didn’t get blown off the field like Penn State.

Yes QB protection is a problem, but it’s not any offensive coach’s fault that that Wisconsin player drove him unnecessarily hard into the ground like that.

11/18/2017 - 3:48pm Hot take alert!

Hot take alert!

11/18/2017 - 3:20pm This program is snakebit

It feels like literally everyone is injured just in time for Ohio State.

11/18/2017 - 3:11pm CATCH THE FUCKING BALL

FUCK.

11/18/2017 - 3:10pm Hot take alert

Guaranteed another decade plus staring into the abyss if you get rid of Harbaugh.

11/18/2017 - 3:03pm Fuck you refs

Not fucking way that’s a flag.

11/17/2017 - 5:19pm 27-12, Wisconsin

It'll be a close game but Wisconsin pulls away with a 4th quarter touchdown. Michigan will settle for  field goals and a lack of TD conversions ultimately ruins their chances.

Again I hope I'm wrong.

11/17/2017 - 5:13pm Paging early-season Quinn Nordin...

Our offense sputters quite a lot, but I think Harbaugh will mix in enough frippery to move the ball to the Wisconsin side of the field more often than not.

The question becomes...can Nordin become the reliable guy he was at the start of the season? It's not just about a game winning kick...there might be multiple FG attempts in this game, and any miss will become bigger than it has been in recent weeks. And they're not going to be chip shot attempts...I'm guessing there'll be at least a couple 40+ yard attempts. Whatever yips he has had recently, we had better hope he figures something out.

The other question is...can Peters have enough success to get Michigan one or two TDs in this game? He will surely look like a freshman on the road for the first time for much of the night...but he needs to be able to have one or two moments in this game where he rises above and makes some plays agianst a stout D.

Third bullet...turnover battle. I think Peters has at least one pick Saturday, so let's hope it can be mitigated by the defense and they grab one or two TOs themselves at some point. And let's hope the RBs have fully shedded their early-season fumbleitis. If M loses the turnover battle by more than 1, they will lose.

I think this game will be close. I still think Wisconsin wins. I hope I'm wrong.

11/12/2017 - 2:31pm Wisconsin should not be in the top 4

Beat somebody worthwhile then you can be there. OU has 3 way better wins than Wisconsin at this point, they’ve earned a top 4 spot right now.

11/11/2017 - 6:44pm We’re struggling

Because we were up by 28 points and as a young team took the foot off the gas and started getting dinged up.

Let’s stop pretending it’s anything more than that

11/11/2017 - 6:41pm There

We good now everyone?

I mean this team is who we thought they were. They will probably lose next two weeks, but don’t dismiss any chance.

11/11/2017 - 6:21pm Wanted to peek in this thread

To see the meltdown over a team mailing it in up 4 scores.

Did not disappoint.

Right now I’m more concerned about injuries rather than anything happening on the field.

11/07/2017 - 10:00am Did Brian UFR this game?

I feel like this is a nice reminder of how truly horrific things were. I mean look at all the talent we had...and THAT was the output? Just comically bad. Teams have off days, but this was a whole new level of suck. And it was a win, so it wasn’t even close to the worst we saw!

11/05/2017 - 1:18am How could you tell?

We never got replays of the infractions, instead we got a few glimpses of the guilty parties looking bewildered at the calls.

I know we’re an undisciplined young team, but it sure felt like they were holding M to a different standard than the other team.

11/04/2017 - 11:30pm Do the refs know

That two teams are playing?

11/04/2017 - 11:16pm Gotta be the pink lockerooms

How else do you explain it?

11/04/2017 - 11:09pm There’s another game next week

Peters has already been hit pretty hard tonight.

11/04/2017 - 11:07pm Same

They honestly sound like Gopher homers. Kinnel instigated it because of a light shove? You serious, Clark? Dang there would be SO many ejections every game if that’s all it took to get thrown out!

11/04/2017 - 11:05pm Why?

We’re up by 26.
