EDIT: 4* Nolan Rumler is an OG.

You must be as new as your account. First, the 2018 class has already started participation with the team. All is in the class of 2019. Second, the 2019 class has 5* Chris Hinton and 4 4* including another DE, a QB and 2 OTs. It also has a couple of other guys who have received better, closer evaluations from Harbaugh and the other coaches than you usually get from the recruiting sites these days. It should be noted that some of those recruits may well get a bump if the sites get around to updating their profiles. Finally, you can expect someone like Vazquez to exceed his ranking because of the way he will fit Don Brown's system.

06/21/2018 - 5:26pm My recollection seems to be…

My recollection seems to be a bit different than everyone else's. IIRC, it wasn't just the injury that turned off the coaches, but his disobedience of their directive to not play after the first ACL. That is, they would have taken him if he had sat his senior year and healed.

You got all that from the single fact that documents were withheld? Can you walk me through that?

06/21/2018 - 12:37pm I also wouldn't say that…

I also wouldn't say that Hoke sucked generally at recruiting. The record number of NFL draftees after 2016 were all Hoke recruits.

Sad. He's probably looking at a lifetime of "if only . . . ." There's no guarantee that he would have fully recovered if he had taken the advice from Michigan, but he'll always wonder and the way our minds work he'll probably conclude that he would have.

I upvoted him for providing valuable information. I didn't realize the value of that sticky until he pointed it out.

Agree 100%. There are 3 things I want to get to: 1) new front page content, 2) my account to check any replies to my comments and 3) new posts on the board. With the old format it was easy to get to all three, the first 2 were right there at the top, you just had to scroll down a little past the diaries (which are sometimes of great interest). With the new format 1) you have to work past a bunch of pictures to find new content, 2) I don't even know how to get to my account except by using an old link and 3) you have to open a new tab for the Mgoboard. After a week of familiarization I'm not feeling the love for this experiment.

When I got that message I did try to reset my password but I couldn't get to  the screen to make the change because it told me I had too many logins (or whatever the wording is). I  emailed the boss and when I went back I was allowed on. That fix is one that should have their highest priority.

This is really a reach for "Michigan connections": " He went to Cincinnati Moeller high school, which has nearly the same block M and colors."

06/08/2018 - 3:29am I think the starter will be…

I think the starter will be the guy who plays the best.

As for Peters, next year will be his 3rd year at UM. He has already used his redshirt so transferring after next year would make no sense for him unless he is ready to graduate. I suspect he will take all factors into account before deciding if he wants to be a grad transfer. Some of the factors will be whether Patterson stays more than 1 year and Peters' playing time during the 2018 season. Given the unknowns, there is no point to this speculation unless you're just looking for a reason to drink.

They had a couple of days to make any announcement they wanted to make. Inquiring minds shouldn't have to wait until a formal roster change is published to learn who is going to be on the team.

Agreed. Maybe we'll change our minds after we use it for awhie and become familiar with the new arrangement.

Neither is anyone on D whose departure would be apocalyptic.

06/03/2018 - 3:26pm Anything?

Ruiz and Bredeson leaving would qualify in my mind.

06/02/2018 - 9:10am Keeping in mind that not all

Keeping in mind that not all offers are equal. Guessing which offers are "commitable" can be a challenge in itself.

06/01/2018 - 9:27am I really hope he's right

I really hope he's right about Harrod and Mazi Smith.

06/01/2018 - 8:41am isn't the second QB's name

isn't the second QB's name Conelious? I think Fish put an extra R in there.

05/28/2018 - 12:58pm We currently have 3 DE

We currently have 3 DE commits in the 2019 class. 2 of them are ranked in the top 4 at the position. There will be 3 true freshman DEs on the team in 2018, along with a redshirt freshman. Fletcher is at most a backup plan in case Herron flips to Stanford.

That would make this OT and something I wouldn't have clicked if I had known, so more fail from OP.

05/18/2018 - 12:57pm Probably not.

Why do you ask?

05/18/2018 - 3:13am Oh, yeah. When I think back

Oh, yeah. When I think back on that year's receivers I tend to think about how much Chesson and Darboh improved over the season, but in that game a big problem was the inexperience of true freshman Grant Perry.

05/17/2018 - 9:30pm A brilliant point.

I wish I had read it before I posted.

05/17/2018 - 9:28pm Another important

Another important distinction: Rudock didn't arrive until August. He had almost no time to get familiar with his receivers and the Michigan system.

05/03/2018 - 12:45pm He was.

He was cleared by doctors before playing at M and he was cleared again by doctors from UM and Harvard before participating in M's pro day. If I'm not mistaken, he will also have to be cleared before playing each season in the NFL. It's a safe bet that Oakland had their doctors test him and then concluded that he will be eligible to play next year.

05/03/2018 - 12:33pm Bredeson was "pushing" and

Bredeson was "pushing" and "challenging" Newsome. He was never actually close to winning the competition, it was just motivational coaching BS.

05/02/2018 - 9:39pm Un-fucking-believable.

The question posed is who is the most over-rated in any sport with no time limitations and the front page, 50 responses, come up with Derek Jeter and Brett Favre.

Too often his tackling was sloppy. He was like a HR hitter who is always swinging for the fences, looked great when he connected. I don't remember being impressed by his speed either.

Finally, an actual correct answer. He never received medical clearance to take part in physical aspects of practice.

Here's an MLive story from 3/23:

http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2018/03/michigan_football_inj…

"Offensive lineman Grant Newsome, who missed all of 2017 rehabbing from a knee injury, still has not been cleared to practice. There was hope he'd be able to return by spring, and he participated in winter conditioning with the team, "but he's not at the point to come back," Harbaugh said."

04/19/2018 - 2:17pm "Part of his strength is his versatility."

Part of the reason the OL was so bad last year was because the coaches shuffled players around in the spring and the fall so they would have more flexibility. The tradeoff was guys who didn't develop unit cohesion and who weren't ready for the responsibilities of the position they ended up at. I hope the coaches figure out where players fit best in the spring and then hone their skills in the fall.

04/17/2018 - 1:41pm Seriously?

You can't just look at the board and find the thread that's 6 below this one?
