I've wondered if Denard does

I've wondered if Denard does not have good hands for a receiver because whenever Denard and Devin were in the game together, they never threw the ball to him.

Admitting he made the call

Admitting he made the call doesn't mean he actually made it. Not just me, but a lot of other people think Dantonio stepped up to take the bullet so his player wouldn't have to. Good arguments can be made both ways on whether to try to go for the block or not in that situation. Since it can be argued whether Dantonio made the call or not, that's why I asked if you can tell by watching the play (the actions of the 11 players) if a block was on or not.

I'm still not sold that

I'm still not sold that Dantonio made the call. It could have been Lewis acting on his own to try and redeem himself for the 4th down screwup on Wisconsin's game winning drive.

Nevertheless, can one tell from watching the play if a punt block was on or not?

If I remember correctly,

If I remember correctly, Michigan's defenses under Lloyd were torched by spread offenses. Northwestern games come to mind often. How did we do against Oregon in 2007? We gave up 39 points and 624 yards. The game was over by halftime. That's just off the top of my head. As for the Florida game, I seem to remember that it was more that we outscored them than we shut their offense down. Florida scored 30 points for crying out loud.

Maybe you could recommend a

Maybe you could recommend a Kumon location near him.

I think we may have gotten

I think we may have gotten jobbed on the time clock on the last drive too. If I'm not mistaken, in the last two minutes of a half, when play ends with the player going out of bounds, the clock is not restarted until the next snap. With about 1:04 left, our receiver was tackled out of bounds and the official at the sideline stopped the clock. However, the official in charge of the game clock started the clock again as soon as the ball was set at the line of scrimmage. About 19 seconds went off the clock before snapped the ball on the next play. That play turned out to be an incomplete pass. The next play resulted in us getting the ball down to the 3 yard line with 16 seconds left. If I'm correct, we should have had around 35 seconds left. We at least would have had enough time to try running Denard on one play instead of just throwing 4 passes into the end zone. Nevertheless, we did score but it didn't count.

Outstanding post!

I think this year's team has

I think this year's team has been an improvement, but I would not call it a 'good' team. We had good, as well as great, teams during the Bo/Mo/Lloyd era.

Here's a hypothetical question. If this year's Michigan team played against any Michigan team (by that I mean season) from the Bo/Mo/Lloyd era, which one could it beat?

I can't think of one and that includes the 1984 6-6 season. All Michigan teams during that era had defenses that were vastly superior to today's team. That's obvious. With the exception of '84 when Harbaugh got hurt and Zurbrugg became the starter, the offenses were also vastly superior too.

I stand corrected.

I stand corrected.

Doesn't Game Day realize they

Doesn't Game Day realize they aren't showing up for an actual game but instead a Wisconsin scrimmage?

Still not sure about that

Still not sure about that late touchdown Al. Dontcha think the entire team will be in the fetal position long before that?

Amen to that

Amen to that

If Harbaugh keeps that

If Harbaugh keeps that nonsense up, he'll have more than a few coaches trying to run up the score on him if they get a chance.

When was the last time

When was the last time someone was that happy to be the Lions?

How will state get 10 points?

How will state get 10 points? Their offense will be lucky if they get past mid field. :-)

Talk about a disconnect from

Talk about a disconnect from reality. The spartans are in for an epic beat down. This one should resemble the Alabama game last New Year's Day. As if Wisconsin isn't already going to be fired up after losing to state last year. Not to mention Bielema is a vindictive prick who'll run up the score on them to let them know they don't belong in the same conversation with Wiscy. That ESPN decided to host Game Day there is karma at work against the spartans. It's a good thing for sparty that this is late game. Most people will be changing the channel at the end of the first quarter when the Badgers will be up by 21 and won't know what the final score will end up being. Nevertheless, no one is going to be hyping the spartans after this game.

This game will  just be a

This game will  just be a scrimmage for Wisconsin. Not sure what ESPN is seeing as being a big deal here. The only people left watching the game after the 1st quarter will be Michigan and Wisconsin fans. The only doubt about this game is whether Bielema decides to run up the score.

21 points? Huh? How's that

21 points? Huh? How's that going to happen? Three late 4th quarter scores against the 5th string D? :-)

Happened after the game ended.

spartans followed and taunted the Wolverines as they walked towards the end zone tunnel. The spartans probably got as deep asthe 15 yard line with this. Totally bush. Something one would see in the SEC. This was a significant event and one you won't hear the last of. Karma will be brutal towards msu next week when they play Wiscy.
