2007 Illinois and Sparty were also awesome in a different way.
2006 ND I was a junior and made the trip with one of my senior friends. We were hammered and I am not proud about how we acted, but that is probably the most fun I have ever had at an away game.
I don't know how many band members they travel with, but Notre Dame has one of the larger marching bands in the country. 380+ members according to their website.
I've seen folks clamoring for MOAR brass instead of woodwinds, but come on, we have some sick flute parts.
ND played a lot of pirate sounding jams--I found them to be a swashbuckling annoyance.
At least they contributed to the largest crowd ever?
I get that, but I think it's more when he asks them a question. It's always something like "what does James Ross have to do to be successful this year?" I don't know, it just always seems a little awkward to me. I definitely appreciate the interviews though.
I think this is going to be the best defense we have had in a long time. Side note, but does Kartsch referring to the players in third-person bother anybody else? Sparty's gonna spart I suppose.
Does anyone know if there will be the "Down With OPP (Other People's Pressers)" posts this year? I like to read the opposing teams' press conferences. Thanks.
The day after the UConn game I met Denard at Schembechler Hall. He was very nice, in team warmups, getting treatment and working out. After I left I also ran into Tate at Briarwood Mall. He was getting a massage from a girl in one of those chairs in the center of the mall.
I could have caught him on an off day, but the difference in work ethic between the two quarterbacks seemed astounding. Tate's grades weren't the only problem, and unfortunately for him his dad couldn't bail him out. I don't fault DB at all for this.
In 2008 I remember hearing about the 3 paces being called something like "Quick, Indy, and Jet" respectively. I'm not sure if it was just ESPN filling airtime or if there was any validity to it.
The band doesn't make the phone ring for that chant? Also, I believe the band started the awww see ya chant which led the student section to their current tirade. Maybe the band doesn't cuss, but they certainly facilitate it.
I apologize if I assumed it has been 10 years, but I was in school from 2004-2007 (graduated early but was still there for football season) and it was definitely going on. I also remember it from when I was in high school
The hockey band has been using variations of "you suck" since the 90s. (hey, miller, that was your mom and she said, you just suck...) this is a spin off of that. They also sing it on blocked kicks, 4th down stops, and possibly turnovers

"College men from LSU, went in dumb, come out dumb too." The song is called "Rednecks" and the album is "Good Old Boys".

That is for 2009. Last year the coverage map came out 2 days before the game.

No surprise. I smoked with Mallett on the Thursday before he beat Penn State.

Because everyone can get into Michigan State. Including Walmart shoppers.
Just hit me back with positive points on Saturday when this comes true.

Oh, but I was so much older then. I'm younger than that now.

That's some pretty frumpy looking football.
