04/10/2018 - 7:44pm I know this is too simple

but why has our offensive line played poorly in the past two years?  They practice against one of the best d-lines in the country, doesn't this make them better?

04/04/2018 - 1:58pm Z seems to have command.

I don't see Z losing any of his minutes.  Dejulius may take some of his time but as we all know, unless they are incredible, no freshman PG can work Beilein's system very well.  There is an exception to every rule but my guess is Dejulius passes Brooks in backing up Z and then starts next year if Z leaves.  My guess is Brooks transfers or settles in to a back-up, back-up.

03/28/2018 - 4:46pm This is a very odd game.

I'm sure just like most of the other teams who got Loyola thought it would be a great match-up and they would come out on top...all four teams who thought that were wrong.  Of course Michigan is a WAY better team than these guys but Chicago is still riding the wave.  Take this as a regular season game in the beginning of the season and we win by 20 but march madness is wierd.  We have to go in to this game thinking that this is going to be the best team we've played all season (even though it's not).  I would play Wagner and Teske at the same time and just pummel them with post-ups...when they double, kick it out.  Can't wait to watch.

02/23/2018 - 3:00pm I have been saying this for a year, finally!!

Great job.  Now hire a great offensive coordinator.  Pep should probably go too but we'll save that for another year, at least he has a lot of experience at the next level.

02/19/2018 - 1:37pm Was wondering

when this praise Rahk post was going to come.  Rahk has gone from a consistent player to an even better consistent player and go-to guy.  I love when Belein finds players like these.  It take sa huge burden off other players when we have two go-to scorers in Mo and Rahk.  Great team win, these guys can make noise as usual in the tournament.  Hopefully Charles gets out of his slump, he is often times one of the top two or three players on the court.

02/16/2018 - 2:35pm Totally agree.

Our offense is a hodgepodge of coaches who aren't very good and have proven they aren't very good.

02/16/2018 - 2:18pm Bad hire.

If we have gotten to the point of "can't do much worse" then that is a problem.  The shark humper has given plently of reasons he isn't worth it and not many reasons to think he is worth.  Michigan really can't get an offensive mastermine to lead the offense?  Hamilton and Drevno are both bad (see the past three years), and so is Shark Humper.  Harbaugh can do better than the Browns coordinator and a fired Florida coach who is a public relations nightmare.

01/25/2018 - 10:07pm I take one BIG thing from this game:

We are just as good as the 3rd best team in the country.  No one will want to play us in March!  If Charles gets rolling we'll be unstoppable. This team can go 8-0 in it's last 8, that puts us at 25-6, not bad...at worst, probably 23-8.

01/15/2018 - 1:21pm One of Beilein's best wins

as a head coach, and he is starting to really rack them up.  There is not a coach out there who gets more out of his players.  Dantonio actually does a good job of this I think but lets praise nothing about MSU ever because I hate them.  Not worried about the FT, if anyone can teach a 20 year old kid to shoot a FT, it is johnny.

01/02/2018 - 10:50am So how long do we hold on for?

Harbaugh is a great coach and I think he is a great fit here but he has made plenty of questionable calls in recent games and this season.  So given that, he needs to make significant changes this off season.  What he has done with this team is good, maybe great, but not the best.  10-3,10-3, 8-5, and no starting QB heading in to a 4th season looks like the wrong direction to me.  If you want a program like Alabama or Clemson, then you have to have high, high, high expectations.  If our expectations are 8-4 then you will continue with a mediocre program whose best win with a 3rd year coach is Purdue who barely made a bowl game.

01/02/2018 - 10:10am The only thing left to do

is fire the entire offensive staff and give the new people a go next year.  If we don't at least win the big ten then Harbaugh is gone and our rebuilding ends up being 10+ years.  I still really like Harbaugh and I think he is a good coach but he doesn't quite seem to be making the perfect decisions.

11/18/2017 - 5:17pm I'm using your logic, not mine.

Hoke also turned around two programs.*  Do you post like 100 times a day or are you another unrealistic fan who doesn't realize that we haven't been good since 1997? You have wayy too many mgopoints lol

11/18/2017 - 5:05pm excuses

any more?

11/18/2017 - 5:04pm By your logic

We should have kept brady hoke, he won 26 games in three years and thats only two less than 28 so he was pretty good too?  Wrong.  He has not won the games he should.  He deserves one more year, if it is not good then we should get les miles.

11/18/2017 - 5:01pm more excuses

got any more?

11/18/2017 - 4:50pm because anyone can do better than okorn

duh

11/18/2017 - 4:48pm There is a lot going wrong.

I actually think that game was winnable with Peters in there but that is besides the point.  Our backs can't run, our recievers can't catch and we are getting outcoached.  The only thing that makes sense now is for Harbaugh to do a complete rebuild of the offensive coaching staff for next year and if they don't at least go to the big ten championship game then he needs to be fired.  I'm sorry but 4 seasons is plenty enough time to get a team with that good of recruiting classes to the conference chapionship game.  He is not getting it done and also, O'korn is one of the worst QBs I have ever seen.

Bottom line is a bunch of people are going to make excuses like injuries and inexperience like they have been saying for three years now and you are just fooling yourselves.  Everyone has injuries and inexperience.  We haven't been winning important games and we haven't been to the big ten championship game and those are both facts.

11/17/2017 - 7:31am Well, you could watch it but

didn't care enough about the team to pay 10 for a month.

11/17/2017 - 7:30am Alarmingly gun-shy?

He has taken (and made) the most shots on the team so far at 49%, for a guy who has only played three live action games in two years I'd say that is probably not gun-shy.  Averaging 12 field-goal attempts in college is above average.

11/14/2017 - 10:36am Correct.

Correct.

11/14/2017 - 10:35am He probably won't leave but is good enough to.

Like all the other early departures, he probably shouldn't but might.  He has the athleticism of gr3 and the own shot creation ability of the late Stauskus.  I'm purly speculating here but he is already better than every player on this team and some of those will be going pro this year (Mo and Maar), he very likely could and noone should be suprised if he does, though we all hope he won't.

11/14/2017 - 8:44am I don't think this is accurate.

Charles and Mo will both take over a game if no one is making shots, so will maar actually.  Charles is certainly the new go-to guy and has almost anyone beat on skill and athleticism except for the top, top players in the country.  As for cause for concern...do you watch Michigan basketball? Beileins teams never look great in the begining of the year (except the year with Trey as a sophmore).  If anything, this just fits in to the usual.  His offense is incredibly complicated and it takes 10 games for kids to understand it in live action.  It will click at around the begining of Big Ten play as usual.

11/14/2017 - 8:40am You're completely wrong.

Have you watched Beilein's teams?  They always start slow and then become the team no one wants to play.  They will be in the sweet 16.

11/13/2017 - 10:22pm Can't wait to watch this team.

They have huge potential. I think we'll really miss Walton but if his points and assists can be split between Zavier and Simmons then great. Matthews is clean as any shooter I've seen, natural at every point, hopefully he doesn't decide to leave after one year here.  He and Wagner are the clear go-to scorers when we need a bucket. I think this team has a good chance to challenge the top of the big ten.

11/06/2017 - 1:10pm Dang that was a ground game assault.

I'm tempering my expectations a bit because we have had a great running game against...Ruters and Minnesota, but still, it looked great.  Can't wait to see Peters throw the ball more.  I'm starting to think we can win the next two and make OSU a fight because it is at home and they are a bit overrated.  Other thoughts?  We still need to protect Peters better.

11/04/2017 - 5:49am Cannot wait for the season.

I think this team is underrated, then again it was GVSU but I like their chance this year regardless.  It is a huge benefit to have two prolific scoreres from the get go in Matthews and Mo, Charles just looks like a ball player. It will be interested to see how the pg spot shapes out. Go blue, beat everyone!

10/30/2017 - 1:41pm The team looked pretty good

but let's not forget who they were playing.  I don't want to praise Peters too much but he looked great and did many simple things that JOK clearly struggled at.  Is the outlook for this season the same?  It probably is but the outlook for next year maybe have jumped a bit.  We are pretty much returning both sides of the ball completely and that is a great sign.  Peters will have great rapport with the tight ends and recievers and I think this will help tremendously.

10/28/2017 - 7:49pm I agree.

How happy and amazed we are with Peters shows 1. how bad jok was and 2. how quick fans change their expectations.

10/28/2017 - 7:44pm Did I anoint him? Right, I didn't think I did, I'm glad you

think I'm that close to the program though and have that much influence.  All I said was he is better than JOK which I've said for weeks now and he is better than him.  JOK was in for two drives, threw an int and had two dropped snaps.  Even if Peters has a bad game next week against minny he is still the better starter and qb of the future.

10/28/2017 - 5:10pm Well done Peters. One wonders what would have happened if

he came in a few games earlier.  He gave everyone energy.  What was it Harbaugh saw in JOK or not in Peters?  I think everyone on here was saying Peters was bad in practice...clearly not.

10/28/2017 - 5:10pm Well done Peters. One wonders what would have happened if

10/25/2017 - 7:34pm Yeah, completely agree.

We need a real RB coach, he cannot really do tightends or backs...you really think we're going to compete in the running game with other schools with him as the backs coach?  No, we are not.  I have a problem with Pep as well but maybe I'll leave that for another day.

10/23/2017 - 5:14pm Make whatever excuses you want, there will always be one there.

Harbaugh does not win important games and we have not been the "Michigan" we all know over the past 15 years.  It will get better and I still think Harbaugh will make it better but it looks like it will take four or five instead of three.  Franklin won the Big Ten after three years and Kelly took ND to the national championship in year three.  To be fair, our coach is paid 9 mill a year, he should at least win a few importnat games and he hasn't...maybe one or two if you count his first bowl game and wisky last year.  We can expect better.

10/23/2017 - 1:11pm Should've, could've, would've

Truth is, yeah were were pretty "good' the last two years but even Harbaugh himself would say, no, we have not accomplsihed the goals we wanted to.  So my point still stands.  If you did not accomplish goals then you should do something about it.  Big change needs to happen and maybe that includes not highering the Browns assistant coach and not having your son as your RB coach, he HAS NO EXPERIENCE.  Harbaugh is a fine coach and does not need to leave and I hope he doesn't, but he does need to make some important changes because what he is doing is working but can be working better.

10/23/2017 - 1:00pm Yeah I think you're right.

My argument isn't let Peters play because he is worse.  My argument is more, we will gain A LOT more in the long-run if he plays instead or JOK who I am now calling joke.  I don't think any goals are still on the table unless those goals are a 8-4 season.  Beat OSU is still there but I seriously doubt that happens.

10/23/2017 - 12:55pm We were good the last two years?

Good is subjective and plenty of schools get better after losing 17 or 22 starters, Clemson, bama, osu.  And if you want to make that argument, we should have been GREAT last year and weren't.  Barely beat a 3-9 MSU team and wisky, lost to OSU, and lost to FSU.  Great season huh?  Man Hoke and Rodriguez really lowered our expectations.

10/23/2017 - 12:40pm Just plain bad.

Man we were over-rated to start the season!  So when do we become good?  Next year?  How long does Harbaugh need to really improve us, I guess three years is not enough.  I think we have improved and I still believe in Harbaugh but I do question some things.

Peters needs to be starting, it doesn't matter if he is worse.  Teams are good when they have chemistry between their QB and their receivers and backs, we don't have this and we need it BADLY.  Why is PSU so good?  Among many other things they have a great senior QB, RB, and WR who have played together for years. Our QB transfered in and has six games left to play for a team that is not his team and who no one wants to get to know because he is leaving in six games.  Also our rb coach should NOT be his damn son, don't tell me RB has been the spotlight, it hasn't and even if they have been kinda good, it is not because of Jay.  We also need a new OL coach.  Defense is still pretty good...after that 70 yard carry to start the game, Barkley did not have a good game running the ball.

10/17/2017 - 11:29am I'm hoping for 9-3 but that seems optimistic.

This team has issues on one side of the ball and we all know which side that is.  Hopefully the defense can compeltely shut down either PSU, Wisky or, OSU and we could be looking at a 9-3 season, losing the other two.  There is no way 10-2 is happening unless OKorn gets benched for Peters.  He clearly can't do anything well except scramble, I'd bet my life Peters can get better than 3 ypc on 20 throws.  On an optimistic note, Okorn will be gone next year and I think we'll contend for the big ten, we basically return everyone!

10/16/2017 - 2:41pm Yes i should have explained better.

Even if he is worse, does it matter?  They are clearly both completely incompotent and we should go with a guy who can make checmistry with the young receivers and who probably has a higher ceiling.

10/16/2017 - 1:55pm So...JOK is very very not good, anyone believe me yet?

Now that everyone on God's green earth has said it you can accept Peters is better than both our starters?  Where you at snarlingwolverine?

10/14/2017 - 6:26pm Choose whatever word you want, I could care less. He is

clearly not the answer and Harbaugh needs to realize that.

10/14/2017 - 6:19pm Barely won that.

O'Korn is complete trash, no excuses, there is no response to that statement but you're right.  I said put Peters in 3-4 games ago and now at this point Harbaugh looks like a HUGE fool continuously going with a shitty transfer with 6 games of eligibility remaining.  Higdon came up big and saved our asses.  We will get our stuff handed to us in Happy Valley if we throw for 58 yards again.

09/16/2017 - 6:15pm ummmm are we watching the same game?

There is clearly trouble out there and I blame the Senior QB who can barely move the ball against Cincinnati and Air Force...two terrible teams.  We don't need to change QBs but we're going to get smoked in big ten play if we don't learn how to score points.

09/16/2017 - 5:02pm Speight seems

like a nice guy but not really a great football player.  He clearly can't hit wide open recievers and doesn't seem to have the scanning ability that other QBs have plus there is no chemistry between him and the wideouts.  Throw in Peters, there is no reason not to.  Speight may be a bit better but this is already a 8-4/9-3 season, if we go 7-5 with Peters in there it doesn't matter that much, he'll get great experience for next year.  We should give Peters an opportunity to build a relationship with the talented freshman.  Glad we started off the season with teams we can beat at least!

09/09/2017 - 4:59pm "The offense has some issues to work out"

A little bit more than some...

08/09/2017 - 3:41pm The question remains...

...are the inexperienced recievers good enough?

08/09/2017 - 3:40pm Yeah, great write-up.

Comes down to Harbuagh, who I'd say most of us trust.  Peters seems on fire but I don't think he'll take Wilton's spot.  12 games of experience and a year is a huge barrier between no games and a year of a red-shirt.  I think we're looking too hard at this.  Wilton did pretty damn good for a majority of his games, he did poorly after injuring his shoulder (which seriously affects throwing).

Also, unless it is crystal clear, Harbaugh is going to say there is competition, it doesn't negatively effect anyone...it makes Wilton, Peters, and John try even hardrt which is exactly what we want.  If Harbaugh says Wilton is the starter, then everyone takes a deep breath and takes it easy which none of us would want to see.  Baring a gigantic melt-down (getting seriosuly injured and Peters comes in and fires TD after TD), Wilton is the QB for the next two years and will end up being pretty damn good.

06/28/2017 - 3:37pm I don't think next year

will be quite as good as this year.  Transfers are always a bit iffy because they haven't been with the team long and the reason's teams work so well together is because they know each other and have played together for a while.  That said, Mattews and Simmons are two players I'd want to fill the spots, straight ballers.  I think we will have a better record than last year but I don't know what to say about how far we'll make it in the tournament.  I can really see Moe catching fire and having a 18pt 6rb average a game year.  He has a great attitude and works damn hard. Hopefully we can two new great coaches!!

05/24/2017 - 11:23am Does this make us a top 25 team?

If they both left I think we would have been a top 40 team I guess but now that Mo is back are we in the top 25? Or on the cusp?  If DJ comes back that would be top 20 probably but every indication I see sounds like he is gone.  Go blue, can't wait to see Mo in action again.

05/18/2017 - 2:59pm I don't think either should go.

This is just me wanting both of them back so we can be better, but Wagner is clearly not ready. Good ball handling for a 6'11 guy but if you compare him to what it is the NBA right now, he needs to get better at rebounding and get stronger.  Wilson is a toss-up, if we get both back we'll be pretty damn good, therefore both should come back :)
