Didn't the investigation reveal that Urban was notified of McMurphy's story and at that time, asked a staffer how to remove messages over a year old? That seems like intent to hide something if you ask me.
Never played sports with a nagging ankle, hammy, or any other sort of workable injury? Coverage picked up during warmups, when he was trying to work through his hammy issue. Maybe a little adrenaline and stretching (perhaps cortisone shot) makes the appendage feel like new, but you’re not going to know unless you get out there and get the blood flowing.
Post Orange Bowl, Peppers was interviewed in the locker room and clarified that Coach wanted him in the booth as to not draw attention or create a spectacle regarding him not playing.
*Edit: I think Erik is more on point in regards to why he was in the booth.
No family connection to the University or the state whatsoever, but I did have a Sega Genesis when I was 7yrs old, and my dad had bought me "College Football USA 96" (soon to become NCAA Football). I was instantly attracted to Michigan's uniforms and the fact that Tim Biakabutuka was an animal and the only way I could do anything against my dad was through him. Fast forward to Nov. 25, 1995 when Tim ran for 313yrds against OSU ending their National Champ bid and my love for Michigan was solidified. That was just the start of my fandom and a string of my favorite players.
Fast forward again to 2005 when I'm applying for uni and get back my acceptance letter from Michigan; that was a bittersweet moment - sweet knowing I got accepted into a premier university and one that I desperately wanted to get into - bitter knowing that I couldn't afford tuition without a whole hell of a lot of debt. Regardless of my lack of attendance to the school I’m still one helluva Michigan nerd thanks to this site.
I'd take Magnus's evaluations over recruiting site writers any day. He and Space Coyote seem much more knowledgeable than any of the recruiting "professionals"
This is exactly where I fell. I didn't qualify for financial aid, but my parents couldn't afford to send me to Michigan. The scholarships I did get barely dented the costs, so I decided to stay home and go to school for free. As excited as I was to be accepted to Michigan - I have no regrets in not attending due to the fact that I'm not burdedned with debt and my engineering career is doing just fine without the Michigan diploma. Also, there's always grad school.
I couldn't agree more. While I associate specific players with the number they wore, his name is what deserves more recognition. I don't refer to Woodson as ole #2 or Woodley as big #56, I think of their name and the plays they made. They themselves are the legacy, not the number. I'd love to see another great player wear #21 lining up in the backfield or outside the hash just I love seeing a hulking figure wearing #77 on the end of the OL.
On the zone read with the FB arc block where the DE bites hard on the RB action; it's RJS, not Ojemudia. With that said Ojemudia defintely had some horrible plays. Far from the boring assignment sound DE play I was expecting from him.
Living in Reno at around 4,500ft amsl, I can say I never noticed much of a difference in my endurance going to sea level in CA to play rugby matches. Nor did we ever hear anything in regards to the CA uni teams coming up here and feeling like their fitness was lacking.
Instead of taking on the block and sitting in the hole, I tried to dance around or juke a pulling guard. DL Coach kept telling me to, "tuck my labia in."
As someone who went from playing football growing up (learning form tackling) to playing rugby at uni; you nailed the differences pretty spot on. The differences became apparent to me rather quickly as it took time to adjust to the rugby style, and I took quite a few forearm shivers to the face before getting my head behind the ball carrier became second nature.
Always appreciate your posts and input, and seeing this reminded me to visit your site more often.
Bummed to see him leave Nevada, but it would be fantastic to see him go blue. He really stepped up his game this year, and became a nice compliment to Burton.
I've always wondered how much money the NFL spent of getting pink accessories, and how much of that money could've been donated to research. But then again, a straight donation doesn't get the NFL as much press and good publicity as wearing a bunch of pink crap does.
No way he's a victim. Allegedly a family friend behind the fake twitter and such. His parents tied into it. If deadspin's investigation is as thorough as it seems he had to have known. Te'o can't be that naive.
Praise is the only thing a lot of these guys ever hear, so what's it matter that Magnus gives them a little criticism? On TTB he states that he's a high school coach, emphasizing on LB's and DL, which doesn't mean he's an expert, but he probably has a more technical understanding than a lot of us do.
I for one, appreciate his views on a lot of players. My only complaint is, I wish he posted more content, but it's his hobby/side job so I understand. The way he conducts himself reminds me a lot of my old DL coach in high school, who would tell you how it is.
Did great things for Nevada, but so many frustrating in-game decisions. Our AD is stepping down, so it's a pretty good bet he goes back to that role.
Hopefully Ault brings in some folks who will continue to run the Pistol effectively, but there definitely needs to be some change. It would be nice if he brings in a defensive mind with an agressive, gambler type attitude/atmosphere. Maybe take some chances rather than pussy foot around late in games with piss poor clock management. I get it's Nevada, but 8-4 should be the bar.
Common theme with Ault these past 7 years or so. The only season he didn't choke away at least 2 games, was 2010 year we (engineering alum) had a RS senior Kaep. I'm not irrational, I'd gladly take 8-4 and playing second fiddle to Boise -please don't leave- but these choke jobs are infuriating. Whether it's shit clock management or crappy D, the conservative atmosphere the Ault has is sickening.
P.S. Ault needs to take some notes from a Redskins game.
Yeah, TomVH touched on the coaching situations in Tenn and Auburn during his recruiting chat. They may make it more difficult if either makes a splash with big name hire. A big name coach will probably do more harm then good in either of those locations.
Does the coaching staff pull the offer completely, or do they just consider him uncommitted? I mean, what if he visits Oregon, doesn't like and it wants to recommit? Is the offer still there?
I'm assuming this has been discussed before, but the old Conley/Dawson threads are lengthy and would rather not scour through them to find the answer.
Maybe you have higher standards, but I thought the girls of Boulder were pretty damn good looking. It took a handful of days before I spotted the first girl that wasn't fit. Or maybe it was indeed all the beer I drank.
It's a damn shame he's only 2 games above .500. I should double check, but during the begginning of his career there was about a two year period where he lost 12 or so games after giving up < 2 runs. He had his ERA around the high 2's low 3's and had a WHIP < 1 during most of that period too. The Giants just couldn't give him any run support. All in all, my family and I've been a Giant's fans for life, and it was amazing to see them win the Series in '10 and now to see Big Matty Cain throw perfection...it's tremendous.
I hope he's done flying under the radar because he's been consistently good going on about five years now.
I'm in the same boat, wishing rugby would catch on. Not necessarily as an elitist sport, but as a sport anyone can play. Because as you said, all you need is a ball, pitch, boots, and some ruffians. Rugby is starting to pick up in this area (Reno, NV) but no where near as fast as lax is gaining popularity.

Bang me positively
I'm surprised we're not apart of that BYU chunk.
I very rarely receive any flack when I sport maize and blue around Reno.

Ran into them at the Utah game. Sad to say I didn't see or hear her past the 3rd quarter of that game, though.

I'm not too keen on redshirt regulations, but is it a possibility that they want to preserve Richardson's redshirt?
Bender, perhaps?

31-0 Mich
Pretty sure it's a legal formation, but the inside receiver that is on the line is not eligible.
You watch your ass...
