10/22/2016 - 1:29pm Ferentz is so frustrating

is so Midwest mediocre. Guy has carte blanche to do whatever he wants with that program...You would think he would care enough to try something new on offense once a decade.

09/28/2016 - 11:29am Looking for an unbiased answer....

Looking for non-homer answers here.

Do we have the best D-line in the country and if not who is out there that is better or even close?

I ask this because I know all our guys and we seem quite elite, but I am not that in tune with what other teams (Bama, OSU, LSU) have up front and obviously I am biased.

Taco, Hurst, Mone (hopefully healthy), Glasgow, Wormley, Gary....

I might be missing some other contributors like Winovich or Marshall.

It seems like 5-6 of these guys are legit NFL players.

Also, where would our secondary rank?  Lewis is obviously elite.  Is Stribling simply average or is he above average?  Losing Clark obviously sucks.  Where does Dymonte rank as a safety?

Just curious for some non-homer answers.

09/10/2016 - 11:12pm This is true

And Urban Meyer looks like an inbreed.

09/10/2016 - 11:06pm Brady Hoke

still looks clueless.  Thanks for the great recruiting though. Fun watching what Harbaugh can do with all those 4 and 5 stars.

09/10/2016 - 5:52pm I love it

He has a loser team and he needs to convince them that they are better than they are.  I'm sure Harbaugh did the same when he had to convince Stanford that they weren't that shitty when he first got there.

He knows they got shat on, but sometimes if you lie enough to yourself and those around you, you start to believe it and play to that level.

A toast to you delusional Scott Frost.

09/10/2016 - 4:05pm Agreed, the connection

with a tight end should be less sloppy.

08/28/2016 - 2:30pm Rashan Gary

Safety on his first of many sacks at UM.

08/27/2016 - 1:23pm Yep

Harbaugh can win with his, he can win with yours....he's a coaching savant. Meyer is good, but as a system coach he will be beat, just like Saban ran him out of the SEC.
I'll take Harbaugh with a top 5 class vs. Meyer with a top 2 class any day of the week and twice on game day. He's just a better, more well rounded coach and it will prove out over the next few years.

Since coming to osu, Meyer has faced 1 legitimate challenge year in and year out....MSU...a team full of 3 star well developed talent. I believe he is 2-2 against them despite the clear talent edge.

Now take Michigan with Harbaugh coaching and 4 star talent across the board....I think this will go quite well for us.

08/27/2016 - 1:00pm Nooooobody!

Oh wait, wrong question.

The answer is ....everything!

08/27/2016 - 12:58pm Double post...

So I will continue....
Osu has question marks on the o-line, d-line, secondary, receivers, and their tailback (mr. Weber who was hoodwinked into committing) is a first year starter.

08/27/2016 - 12:55pm I just don't buy that osu is more talented

This year. For all his inadequecies developing players, hoke recruited really well. Harbaugh took the team to 10-3 in year one, and returns just about every meaningful starter. QB to me is a non-issue considering both are supposedly much further along than ruddddddock.

This team has 7-9 players that should be drafted in the first 4 rounds. Osu will be more talented next year and probably the following year still, but I'm just not seeing this "talent gap" this year. Are we to believe that every 4* osu sophomore will just fill right in for the 10 players they lost to the nfl that wee multiple year starters?

Am I missing something here? Of course, either team could win the game, but outside Linebacker and a game breaking running back (although it seems Evans might be that guy) this team is loaded across the board.

08/25/2016 - 6:56am We need high chairs

for the get off my lawn crowd.

08/24/2016 - 1:19pm We shouldn't have a football program

or play football games until we beat OSU and MSU.

08/24/2016 - 3:00am Molk

Brandon Graham would be my choice if the D-line wasn't so filthy already.  Denard obviously would be fun to have as a change of pace RB, but wouldn't necessarily fit Harb-offense.

Molk was a really good, smart center that would not only solidify the line, but allow Mason Cole to stay at tackle for a second year instead of changing positions.

08/21/2016 - 6:58pm Very fair

I think we are better than LSU in that they can never seem to develop a QB, but every where else they are loaded with talent.  As much as Harbaugh is a quarterback guru, we dont have a proven returning starter.

As for OSU, I think we are more talanted in terms of on field contributors (upper classment) and finally have a coaching staff to match wits at an elite level.  That being said, given their ownership over our program over the past decade +, Urban dominance in conference since arriving, I can't be butthurt over them being ranked above us.  That being said, they lost a ton of talent and I expect us to finally beat them down.

08/21/2016 - 12:35pm Mone

Was supposedly an immovable beast before the injury last year. With all the big names on the d-line receiving hype an praise, I think he can be an under the radar big time contributor. Our goal line defense could be a wall!

08/19/2016 - 1:52pm Vince Wilfork please...

I would love to have an immovable force in the middle of the D-line to eat up 2 blockers.  Stuff the run game with Onwenu, Glasgow and Mone and guys like Gary and Taco can destroy QBs.  Will be insane.

That being said...how's he looking when playing o-line?

08/18/2016 - 2:25pm Way to perpetuate

the arrogant, ignorant American tourist stereotype.

08/17/2016 - 9:46am Media

should ask Urban about mentoring Aaron Hernandez, cheating on his wife with grad students, faking a heart condition, and running away from Saban.

08/17/2016 - 3:05am He's a loser

Happy he's gone

01/26/2016 - 1:14pm No ethics

no morals, no integrity.  My GOD, what have we become?  What happened to doing things the right way?  I will not stand for Harbaugh trying to get the best class possible after miscalculating class size and recruit interest in the program.

I will only be satisfied if we "win the right way," which we have managed to do 1/2 a time over the past half century.  We deserve 9-3 mediocrity and the ability to hold our heads high while getting owned by elite progams like OSU and Alabama, and more recently by regional power MSU.

First excessive stretching and now this!  UM has clearly sold its soul for wins.

09/15/2015 - 9:43am More Importantly....

Did Hoke apologize to Dantonio and the B1G for Harbaugh's outburst?

09/08/2014 - 3:24pm Outrage!!!

Let's all jump on the internet and see who can be most OUTRAGED by the acts of another.  Yeah, his actions were that of a scumbag, but the need for people to jump on social media and display how OUTRAGED they are to make themselves feel like better human beings is ridiculous.

Did he get what he deserved?  No, probably deserves worse, like a criminal charge.  But I still find the public response ridiculous, especially since we all know people, if not ourselves, that have done some bad shit.  Again...he's a dirtbag, but casting stones at him does not make any of us better people, and being the most OUTRAGED on the internet doesnt make you the a women's rights activist.  If you really care, work with a women's shelter or donate to battered women's charities instead of posting to my FB wall.

08/27/2014 - 10:25am Zen

He is football zen.

07/27/2014 - 8:02pm Recruits don't matter

It's all about coaching them up.

RCMB'd

04/21/2014 - 10:33am Meh

Lewan was a prick, it's kind of common knowledge at this point.  Tough spot for a coach when your NFL ready lineman comes back to to school with that sense of entitlement, acting like he did the program a favor.  That being said, there are pricks on every team (from freshmen to fifth year seniors) and you don't see them blowing up team chemistry when handled appropriately.  Meyer had a choir boy QB at Florida flanked by a bunch of criminals and managed to make it work, at least on the field.  Lewan is no Aaron Hernandez or Mike Pouncey, so have to believe better coaching and proper structure could fix a lot of these issues.  Hopefully he's figured it out.

03/15/2014 - 4:00pm He just wins

You must have missed the meme

03/15/2014 - 3:54pm Aaron Craft just wins

Guess he didn't read the meme

02/01/2014 - 1:46pm Dakich....

Please do tell, how do aaron crafts balls taste in your mouth?

01/28/2014 - 10:50pm Now that the moral high ground is gone

Can we start winning?  What happened here is disgusting and for the "I don't want to win if it means we need to pay players, cheat, oversign, etc" crowd, are you still going to follow the team now?  Because this stinks of mismanagement at best and total coverup at worst.  No matter how you cut it, there is a total lack of transparency here.

In other words, to the "Michigan Man" integrity meme crowd...time to shut it and stop using this as an excuse, as clearly our program is willing to do shitty, unethical things.  We can't be hypocrites here.

The only excuse for not winning, therefore, is simply being bad or poorly coached...not the "we are at a disadvantage because we do things the right way" rationalization we have been regurgitation over the past decade.

In a sense we are the in the worst state.

Win and be ethical - The standard of the "Michigan Man" we tout

Lose and be ethical - Our rationalization and excuse for shittiness over the past decade

Win and be unethical - What we claimed we didn't want ( like Bama, OSU, and win at all costs)

Lose and be unethical - Apparently the pathetic state we are actually in.

01/28/2014 - 6:32pm This is why

We have had shit karma.  Happy that Gibbons and Lewan are gone.

Hopefully the locker room cliches that are rumored to exist also disappear.

01/25/2014 - 8:03pm Classic Izzo team

A couple skilled players (Harris and Appling) and a bunch of big, long, raw muggers.  On offense they chuck up shots and plow in over the back for offensive boards.  On defense they just hack and hip check.

01/24/2014 - 7:08pm Horrible pain

No pun intended.  Had this from long distance running...once you get it, you are screwed. Just lingers.  It's most brutal in the mornings, you can barely step on it when you get out of bed.  By evening you think you have made progress, and then boom, same shit next morning.

01/19/2014 - 2:31pm Eisen

Does a hilarious Michael Irvin impression.

01/12/2014 - 3:01pm Obviously can't hurt with Campbell

But will it help?  That decommit really depressed me.

01/12/2014 - 11:52am Ha

Poster child indeed.  Guy really has been skating by this past decade.  In a sense he is the embodiment of stagnant mediocrity, nepotism, and lack of drive that has infected the program.

01/09/2014 - 1:03am Home Run

Hoke proves he will indeed make the hard choices (fire his buddy Borges) to keep his dream job.  Then Brandon proves he will spend to get the best.  We have a Saban disciple aboard, even if there was some tension between them at Bama.  Definitely an upgrade worthy of rejoicing.

12/16/2013 - 11:04pm He will make

a play that changes the outcome in a game in our favor at some point and you will say you are happy he stuck around.  Every member of the team has a purpose.

11/29/2013 - 1:21pm It's not funny

If you are going to make a joke about how shity the team is, at least be clever.  This post a crap.  One thing to be emo, another to to spew verbal diarrhea like this garbage.

11/25/2013 - 1:01pm As Urban, Hernandez defender

info comes out about me covering up for all my criminal players at Florida.  NCAA comes down hard and suspends me until further notice.

LOL, who we kidding...NCAA having actual ethics or authority to administer said ethical conduct.

11/23/2013 - 9:43pm Hopefully

He isn't arrested until after the ACC championship game and final BCS voting.

11/23/2013 - 9:34pm Welp

Baylor is losing.  We are 1 FSU or Bama loss away from OSU in the national title game.  I believe that would be their 4th in the BCS era if it comes to pass.  Remind me, how many do we have?

Ok, let's listen to the Bo speech again and bury our heads in the sand and pretend we dont suck.

11/23/2013 - 9:19pm Amen

Elite facilities, recruiting, stadium, athletes, tradition.

MAC level staff.

11/23/2013 - 9:15pm If the Grand Experiment

hadn't of worked out, the Bill of Rights would have been just another political manifesto of another failed government.  Many great ideas and policies have failed throughout history due to timing, circumstance, and a myriad of other events.

But what happens when the empire falls?  How does history remember such policies and systems?  That's the point.  Bo's speech is timeless, but carried meaning because he believed it and forced his will on the team.  Ultimately, he was a winner.   Had he lost 7 games a year and been forced out after 6 years of coaching, nobody would give a shit about his speech.

The empire has fallen and accountability is gone.  All that's left now are words.

A decade of irrelevance and excuses....Not Bo-like.

11/23/2013 - 8:36pm I lost faith in his leadership

I really feel Borges needed to be let go mid season.  Send a message about accountability and expectations.  If you say we need to coach better, prove it.  35 yards in a half is just an embarrassment.  Can't believe it came to this point.

11/23/2013 - 8:28pm Apparently my thread creations are not thread worthy

So I will post it here.  Why I root against the 49ers every Sunday....My fandom has become a running pipe dream.

I see no hope for the program at this point.  No improvement, horrible schemes, terrible game day coaching.  The one thing Hoke has been able to do is put some decent young talent and depth on the roster.

My fandom has come to the point of pipe dreams, as that is how hopeless, sloppy, uncreative and incompetent this staff is.  For that reason I root against the 49ers every week and hope that somehow Jim Harbaugh gets fired in the next couple years....unfortunately he is perhaps too good a coach and that doesnt seem likely.

There are no other home run coaches out there right now that would realistically come here.  We went through this twice and kept striking out until we got to where we are....a MAC level program cheerleader.  I am sick an tired of the incompetence and excuses.  There are 8-4 or 7-5 type teams with "signs" where you say, ok, this team is improving.  Then there is this team, that just seems to continue to regress...year by year, and over the course of the season.

I care not to debate the reasons any longer...the RR debacle, missing on Miles (twice), losing Harbaugh, Lloyd (cupboard bare/sabatoging the program), etc, etc, etc.  There needs to be real leadership and accountability and there is absolutely none right now.  This is not just about losses, but about seeing a coherent, functional, well coached product on the field.  This staff is so sloppy and so unprepared its laughable.

For that reason, every Sunday I grasp at straws and hold on to the delusion of Harbaugh being fired and riding in to Ann Arbor to coach up whatever talent remains from Hoke's great recruiting classes.

11/23/2013 - 8:25pm Yep

These speeches mean much more when you can carry on a tradition of winning, and they get air time during the Rose Bowl and national championship games.  Would be nice if we could start creating some new memories.

11/23/2013 - 8:19pm This is why we suck

Living in the past.  Love Bo but let's find a leader in this millenium perhaps that can steer the program?

11/23/2013 - 7:12pm Who cares

Fire everyone!

11/23/2013 - 7:03pm This is so pointless

Why is it RR vs. Hoke????

Both sucked for us.  Don't you get that.  It's like choosing between an alcoholic and a junky.  RR will always get a big win here or there because of his spread offense being so dynamic.  It was never consistent enough to win against big ass midwestern teams, especially when they could ram the ball down our defense's throat.

Hoke is clearly in over his head.  Guy is an X's and O's dunce.

You people are arguing over Toyota vs. Honda.  We need a Bentley, get a clue.
