05/03/2016 - 7:03pm Donlon may have been unjustly

Donlon may have been unjustly fired, but there's little doubt he would have been fired the following year. During his time at Wright State he was an awful recruiter, played an unappealing style of basketball, and typically bored the WSU fans to death. The team he would have brought back for next year would have been picked to finish last in the Horizon if it wasn't for a whole bunch of other coaching changes in the Horizon league. Wright State played an easy non-conference schedule and would typically be just ok in league play to get above that 20 win benchmark. While they did make trips to the conference finals, they were never exactly a favoirte.

Now that I've gotten all the negative out of the way I'll say that I absolutely love Donlon and think he's perfect for Michigan. Donlon gets every ounce of talent out of his players and has consistently turned a group of unathletic players into a defensive juggernaut. His guards have always been really good and I think he is a worthy replacemet for Jordan. I'm confident enough in Beilein running the offense that what Donlon lacks in that regard he'll make up for on the defensive end. And typical to just about all good defenses, Donlon ran a pack line D at WSU. I'd hope he implements that here at Michigan.

As far as the person? Hands down my favorite non Greg Kampe coach in the Horizon league.…

This is good. Sounds like a lot of Buckeye's who bought tickets in Septermber are probably selling them back now. Hopefully were completely done with having OSU fans to fill 25% of our stadium.

11/17/2015 - 11:40pm Another thing to watch will

Another thing to watch will be how the teams ND beat end up finishing.

Temple has fallen off the grid and may not even be a top 40 win when the season ends.

Navy will fall out of the rankings if they lose to Houston.

USC probably won't be ranked again if they lose @ Oregon

Pitt win isn't looking like anything special anymore.

Some of these things  start to happen (all likely) and ND could end the season with only 1 ranked win over a 3 loss Stanford team. Likely ranked in the low 20's.

Compare that  a Michigan who hypothetically has 2 Top 7ish wins over OSU/Iowa and posssibly top 15 NW.

At a minimum there's an argument.

11/15/2015 - 12:48am If Utah loses the playoff

If Utah loses the playoff situation would seemingly become pretty simple. Michigan needs to win out and Stanford needs to beat ND.

09/26/2015 - 9:05pm Alabama at Texas A&M and USC

Alabama at Texas A&M and USC at Notre dame would be the likely alternatives for that week. I would much rather the hype come for the MSU game than NW. It's just an odd situation where the NW week has so few quality games.

09/19/2015 - 7:13pm I mean it's not magic, but

I mean it's not magic, but there is a reason. Back in the old days the ushers would never check to see if the people in the student section were actually students. That led to kids from the ann arbor high schools sitting together with their friends. Groups of people who bought individual tickets sitting together. etc. Sometimes it was young alumni who just wanted to sit in the student section with their buddies.

09/16/2015 - 10:27pm Trying to single out

Trying to single out mid-major teams as embarassing losses just doesn't work for soccer. 2 of the top 5 teams in the country are Coastal Carolina and Creighton. Oakland beat OSU and MSU last year and would have been in the sweet 16 had State not got a couple bullshit calls in their rematch. I get why the idea of losing to Detroit is bad, but it's not like they're losing to  some extraordinarily shitty team.

09/13/2015 - 11:02pm This would be such an awesome

This would be such an awesome set of data if it was segmented the salaries out by major. Wish the government would present legit information that shows how specific majors are doing at specific schools when you have to fill out a Fafsa. I've seen many people attend a school like Michigan and just assume they made it. Then they get pissed when  the EMU accounting grads are making a 30K higher starting salary with much better growth prospects.

09/12/2015 - 7:02pm Only negative of the day was

Only negative of the day was the crowd was really quiet at the beginning. The people in my section were seriously discussing if Brandon had found a way to pump in crowd noise in prior years. That being said, everything after Michigan's first touchdown was great. The old people who never make any noise were jumping and screaming. The pessimists (and they have every right to be) were happy. I don't know man, it was just a good time.

01/01/2015 - 9:09pm sugar bowl atmosphere

Don't know if it's just the TV, but this game seems to have so much more energy than the rose bowl. Can't imagine the shit show these two fan bases have combined to make.

01/01/2015 - 11:52am Harbaugh fired one of his

Harbaugh fired one of his best friends after Stanford's 1st winning season in years. If Hogan is transferring and Harbaugh believes he makes us better than it's going to happen. However, I don't think he would try to steal/poach him if he's not dead set on leaving Stanford.

12/27/2014 - 9:33pm When Harbaugh was at Stanford

When Harbaugh was at Stanford he would do a draft the day before the game. Sounds like it will be a real Spring game. Though I would easily watch Harbaugh coach punters like in years past.

It's BS.

The league's policy states that no employer club may grant another club permission to discuss employment with its head coach for the current or a future season until the end of the season. The coach is prohibited from discussing employment with another team, and no club may request permission to discuss employment with a coach from another team.

Florida's D was dominant against Missouri. Held them to 119 total yards. However, everything else was impossibly bad.

same with me. In section 21 I was able to stream the Penn State game before kickoff and the Ohio state game during the 4th quarter.

04/28/2014 - 11:32pm Other Starting pg's

Other Starting pg's-Beverley, Felton, Rubio, even Trey are all comparable athletes to Walton. If he makes a sophomore leap similar to Morris, there's no reason he couldn't go pro as early as next year.  The way I see it playing out: Walton, Irvin, and Chatman will all have decisions to make and LeVert should plan on going pro next season. Heck, even Mark Donnal and DJ Wilson could be pro prospects within two years.

11/30/2013 - 6:43pm felt like when Gallon started

felt like when Gallon started the game with an 80+ yard catch the crowd got really into it. Than there was the fight and it was utter bedlam for the next 3 quarters. I definitely think "consistently " is the perfect word because the crowd really was into it for the whole game. I thought it was way louder than UTL 2 but not as loud as the 4th quarter of UTL1. From the time I was in the stadium till the second OSU intercepted the 2 point conversion it may have been thebest atmosphere i've seen at the big house.

11/30/2013 - 6:13pm Couldn't agree more with

Couldn't agree more with this. Today's game was nothing like 2009, probably 20% OSU fans and they had no impact on the game. From start to finish, I thought this was one of the best crowds in the last 10 years.

11/30/2013 - 6:00pm When I was walking into the

When I was walking into the stadium, an OSU student was so drunk she attempted to swipe her OSU ID through the Ticket scanners. Mind you this wasn't the student entrance, and she had no clue where her ticket was/what a ticket is. After trying to plead her case that the ticket was in the ID, the guy scanning tickets motioned for a police officer to come over. The girl decided to make a break for it. This didn't go well. she couldn't figure out how the turnstyle worked and attempted to go under it. This was surprisingly successful until it came to getting back up. Not sure how the story ended, but I imagine she took a nice ride to U of M hospital.

11/30/2013 - 5:41pm From start to finish, it was

From start to finish, it was one of the best atmospheres I've seen at Michigan stadium. Crowd was so engaged from the beginning, and after the fight it was just wild. Also, there wasn't nearly as much red as 2009, probably 20-25% which isn't great, but I was expecting worse.  Been to every Michigan-OSU home game since 2001, and I can't recall a time the crowd "brought it" the whole damn game. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.( well except a win of course)

11/29/2013 - 10:58pm start Horford

I'd agree that McGary should start getting the majority of the minutes, but I think it's unnecessary to start him and risk picking up an early foul. . Even if Morgan is hurt, I think Beilein  starts Horford (already did it in the 2nd half of the Ilinois game) In the end, McGary will play more minutes and  finish the game as long as his foul situation allow him to.
