I think it could have done better in saying unequivocally that Mel is presumed INNOCENT until proven....wrong I guess (no crime was committed or even alleged). We don't know the details and colleges have a really bad reputation with these kind of cases nowadays. Lot of kangaroo court type shenanigans like Mel has hinted at in his statement.

I think the great writing has brought this place attention. Technical posts like FFFF, UFR are great but they never feel like out-n-out spreadsheeting. To each his own I suppose.

How many go pro? like 5%? If they can earn 100k over 4years with some kind of NIL, they are atleast on solid footing. That's the real benefit of NIL. The vast majority of athletes who wont go pro but be ahead in the rat race, if only a little bit.

I dunno man, these kids finally have a chance to earn life-changing money EARLY in their playing career. If someone offers them 100~200K at 18yo, id say absolutely take it. You can put that in S&P500 index fund and protect your future instead of graduating with 50k+ debt  (like me lol). Remember Jake Butt, you career can be over before you get any pro chances no matter how talented you are. Take that bag and protect your future imo.

Xmen seems like their last best hope, but they have to cast it really well and have a good story planned out, possibly away from the current crop of MCU nobodies.

I think the best solution would have been to offer them full-rate option. I'm sure they would have taken it. You could even have contacted the actual B&G club of champaign to make sure they dont want some of that allocation first.

I think in general, we should encourage big travelling student sections. Maybe Iowa dont want 200 strong illini embarrasing them on TV so they used the local charity organisation as a prop.
