06/14/2018 - 7:59pm Shut up.

Shut up.

06/13/2018 - 12:30pm A lot of people are trying…

A lot of people are trying to hedge their distaste for 3.0 with the idea that maybe they're not used to it.

I don't think that's it

The redesign is pretty next-level bad in almost every respect. The fonts, the color scheme, the layout. It looks like an amateur 2010 website for UFO hobbyists. The amount of white is unforgivable. Its not even charmingly bad, it's just an eyesore. And that's not even getting into all of the functionality issues

Obviously the site is free, but so are 99% of websites on the internet. Brian makes money / it isn't a charity. So does Ace. I worry that they're going to lose readership at a level that hurts the content. I'm sure their numbers are already down. I'd recccomend going again with a different vendor who knows what they're doing -- as painful as that sounds for them.

Ive seen bigger sites crater because of re-designs that were less terrible than this.

05/27/2018 - 9:17pm I hope Shea becomes so much

I hope Shea becomes so much better but his 2017 true sophmore stats are nearly identical to Speights 2016 RS SO stats. Speight was pretty dang good before the shoulder.

I'd give 2016 an edge because it was more experienced talent, although 2018 has a higher talent ceiling if everyone plays to their potential.

The biggest difference will be the coaching staff in my opinion. Will 4th year Harbaugh + Pep + Warriner be. better teachers and playcallers than 2nd year Harbaugh + Fisch + Drevno. If so, I think we win the BIG.

I think you can spell it G-E-O-R-G-I-A

They hired Arkansas' offensive coordinator John Chavis from '13/'14 squads that went 4-8 and 7-6

They hired Arkansas' offensive line coach Sam Pittman ('13-'15)

Both on staff now with Kirby Smart and they seem to be doing okay for themselves.

wow. why don't you put away the whistle and say what you mean?

09/09/2017 - 7:05pm Ok, so in 29 attempts he had

Ok, so in 29 attempts he had 5 bad throws?

And two of those were 3 yard routes where the receiver is blanketed. And the last one was an obvious throw away because he got pressure insantly?

Not sure that makes a very convincing case for as bad as a game as everyone here seems to think.

09/09/2017 - 5:02pm He had a nearly 60%

He had a nearly 60% completion rating. Twelve incompletions. Some of those were throwaways. One was a completion to Perry that was ruled incorrectly. Can you think of a bunch of others where receiers were clearly open? Maybe the wheel route to Hill? But it wasn't a terrible throw. Otherwise, our receivers were blanketed. We need a better passing scheme.

09/09/2017 - 4:30pm Where did you see Speight

Where did you see Speight missing those athletes besides the ONE throw to DPJ?

How many open receivers did we have all day against a shit team that was stacking the box? A couple? And speight nailed the deep throw to Crawford.

That's on the scheme. Why not more screens to our freak athlete WRs and twitchy RBs? Why not more deep shots? Speight is hitting them. Why is our red zone offense so terrible? Why not use our giant TEs and explosive WRs for fade routes, ever? Why do we call the PA Rollout with Black as the only option as a one-yard route on 3rd and long?

09/09/2017 - 4:26pm 17/29, 221 yards, 2 TDs, 0

17/29, 221 yards, 2 TDs, 0 Int, 145 Passer Rating.

Accurate on his deep shots. One truly bad throw. Having a ball slip is not a mortal sin; don't know who the handoff fumble should be blamed on.

Very odd play calling. We should be getting receivers open against a Cincinatti that is stacking the box -- I can remember only one clearly open pass he missed. To DPJ. Why have superior athetes in every department. Nothing to get them in space. No screen passes to running backs. No wide receiver screens to DPJ, Mcdoom, etc (we had one to Perry late). No fade routes to our giant flex TEs and athletic WRs. Speights been very accurate on deep passes, why not call more?

Speight didn't have a great game, but it was fine, and should have been better with better play calling.

Gotta feel for KW if it's as bad as it looks. Worked really hard in the classroom to get an opportunity this year, even if it was going to be limited.

Colin Kaepernick over Alex Smith?

08/12/2017 - 12:03am Didn't say he's deficient,

Didn't say he's deficient, just that he might be struggling with that aspect.

If he had the command, poise, and leadership that Speight has I'm fairly certain he would be the starter. He's clarly more physically gifted.

He's shown he can make passes. Was AAC rookie of the year. Threw for over 3000 yards with 28 tds and 10 interceptions. And Pep's more spread passing offense happens to suit him. He may not start another game here, but don't think the notion is lol-whatever-worthy.

08/11/2017 - 8:34pm Paraphrasing from someone

Paraphrasing from someone else's paraphrase:

"Says that Peters is working hard and competing well, says the two QBs (Wilton and John) have done well to set themselves apart."

Peters clearly has the tools. The knock on him has been his lack of vocal leadership, and ability to command the team. Maybe he's been struggling there.

or read the backstory on the "Good Shit Jedd" Gif.

01/07/2017 - 6:23pm I don't care if he said fuck

11/23/2016 - 5:05pm We have a much better run

We have a much better run defense this year than last year, and you have a worse run offense. If JT throws for under 100 yards, we're gonna to stomp you.

Indiana ran for 1.8 yards a carry, lol.

10/29/2016 - 5:14pm You mean that OSU team that

You mean that OSU team that lost to PSU (who we beat 49-10)? It's almost as if good teams sometimes have ugly games.

10/29/2016 - 4:18pm That's weird.
I'm very

That's weird.

I'm very optomistic about our offense that scored on its first 5 possessions and didn't punt until 9 minutes in the game.

And very optomistic about our defense, which has been insane outside of 2 quarters this entier year.

10/29/2016 - 4:12pm Man, I just feel sad for you

Man, I just feel sad for you that you can't enjoy a WIN against michigan state.

"The most dissapointed you've been in a UM team since you can remeber" lol. You must be fun at parties.

10/22/2016 - 6:50pm poorly executed fake punt

poorly executed fake punt attempt. not impressed.

09/15/2016 - 4:57pm "I do wonder why McCray is

"I do wonder why McCray is split out over the slot here instead of Peppers."

This seems to happen a lot of the time. I feel like Peppers is blitzing off the edge more often than not, which isn't super successful (compared to him coming on a delayed blitz or a blitz through A or B gap in combo with a D-Lineman). In a couple of the major bust plays, Peppers is a de-facto defensive end, going 1v1 against a tackle which washes him out of the play.

And as Brian mentions, it would seem to make sense to have Peppers covering a slot while Gedeon or Mccray edge rush -- however, often those roles were reversed in this game.

Is this how Matt Milano was used at BC?

09/15/2016 - 3:37pm Huh? He got plenty of solid

Huh? He got plenty of solid pressure against UCF. Hopefully, our OL and rb/te have made adjustments on blitz pickups and keeps speight relatively clean.

If you read either of Ace's posts, I don't think it's safe to assume Colorado is a cupcake tune-up game.

09/14/2016 - 6:23pm It's a bit of a stretch,

It's a bit of a stretch, but:

"He’s still working with the trainer a little bit. But we expect him by the end of the week to see where he’s at.”

Almost as if he was going to say we expect him to be ready at the end of the week, and then catching himself before saying it definitely. Again, that's a very optomistic reading between the lines.

Do you get any vibe, Adam?

09/14/2016 - 3:53am I agree. It seems at times

I agree. It seems at times we're misutilizing peppers. on a bunch of plays he's blitzing from a WDE or SDE position (much like we used Jake Ryan when he was a SAM) and he's 1v1 against a tackle. tough matchup for him and it seems like when it happens he often gets washed out of the play. i'm no d-coordinator but i think i'd rather have gedeon rushing off the edge and peppers covering the slot (or at least peppers blizting in combination with a D-Linemn filling the same gap).

Dymonte should have the seam covered with a slot going against mccray or gedeon, but i think we'd be in trouble on drag, corner or quick post routes against decent receivers (something I think we'll see a fair amount against colorado).

08/24/2016 - 4:06am Denard was a borderline 3/4

Denard was a borderline 3/4 star guy with no other big-time-program offers at QB. Say what you want about Rich Rod, but his track record with dual threat quarterbacks speaks for itself. Pat White and Denard were two of the most explosive, productive run/pass QBs of all time. That's no accident.
