As the wise Sam Webb say, "if you can get a kid on campus you have a punchers chance".

04/24/2018 - 2:36pm Is volleyball a revenue generating sport?

I understand looking the other way or paying players in FB and BB (not advocating but understand) because those sports generate a ton of revenue for big schools and subsidize the other sports.  But why risk "looking the other way" for a top volleyball recruit?

04/17/2018 - 12:20pm Concur

It's a bush league jab.  Take a look at what it takes to get into MSU these days.  They're not taking stooges.  I understand that the football players don't have to meet those standards for admittance but that doesn't change the fact that the "knock" is lame.

I hate the spartoons more than the next guy but be more creative.

03/29/2018 - 1:10pm And that's all fine. You might be the exception.

But typically fans like you don't know who the backup strong safety is.  Doesn't mean they are not a fan.  They're just not a FAN!

It's not personal.  Just an observation that I could be wrong about.

03/29/2018 - 12:17pm As soon as I hear a "Michigan" fan tell me

they root for MSU or OSU in any circumstance, I say to myself, "that's nice, but you're not a real Michigan fan.

College athletics is very much about recruiting.  You never want to see your rival succeed for that reason alone!

03/14/2018 - 12:42pm You should read the article.

"He also resisted police during arrest and at the station, where he repeatedly fell from a bench, police said. He was restrained to a chair after taking "an open hand swing," striking an officer on the arm"

03/14/2018 - 12:29pm 40 year old white guy

doesn't even get arrested after all those transgressions!

03/07/2018 - 1:32pm He's a local kid from Saline

My daughter graduated with him and I've only heard good thing about him.  Good luck to him at TN.

02/20/2018 - 3:40pm When Harbaugh puts a picture of a milk container on our unis

come back and see me.

They put an Oar on their helmets!  An oar!!!  That their coach used in a slogan at a different school!  Their coach!  Used at a different school!!!

Sorry ..... that's just dumb.

12/07/2017 - 1:43pm It's the Outback Bowl.

Not the playoffs.  Sit it out Mo.  We'll watch you again on Sundays.

12/07/2017 - 1:39pm Mlive has covered it extensively for a long time.

NPR has been covering it for at least this year.

12/06/2017 - 9:44pm Justice!

Laquon Treadwell!

11/29/2017 - 12:03pm It would mean that current subscribers are adding ESPN

Here's the article.  ESPN subscribers down 13% while overall cable down 16%.

http://www.businessinsider.com/espn-losing-subscribers-not-ratings-view…

11/29/2017 - 10:58am From what I've read ESPN is still profitable.

My take is that it was a very profitable and bloated company that has trimmed some fat.  I read somewhere that ESPN is by far the most expensive channel on cable tv.  And their subsribers are falling at a slower rate than cable subribers as a whole.  I don't see any of their layoffs as a sign that the network could collapse.

10/20/2017 - 9:38pm Don't ruin it ....

it's a Michigan recruiting thing.  We all know what it means without somebody trying to call it out.

10/11/2017 - 11:33pm Yeah but seriously .....

Have you noticed how unconventional this kids delivery is????

Watch him  I've never seen a kickoff like it.

He walks back the 10 yards .... takes a couple full straight up jumps bringing both knees up to his chest .... then strolls around and makes a 180 degree turn and runs up and kicks the fucking ball!!!

He doesn't "set"!  He doesn't raise his hand to the official and/or the team!

He must tell the official a head of time that i'm not setting.  And team obviously knows what he's doing.

Check him out next time.  it's very unconventional for a kickoff!

09/22/2017 - 1:28pm Locke has a little

Kobe Kick in his jumper.  Defenders always love playing against that kick!

09/12/2017 - 1:00pm I wouldn't call his customers "the ultimate sports fan"

but I took Marketing and I understand that's the message they would like to convey to their market.

09/07/2017 - 2:04pm That's what I heard also.

Record was the first time a kicker in his first game kicked 2 50 yarders.

09/06/2017 - 2:35pm Peppers was excellent at this IMO

People used to get frustrated cause they wanted him to house everything but he only returned kicks that he determined were safe to return.  DPJ should not have touched that ball that was bouncing but he's a true frosh and can be coached up on that.

09/06/2017 - 2:26pm I saw the first spin as Grant saying .....

I'm back bitches!

Tough offseason and that was his first catch.  I think he was just fired up and I can forgive that.

09/06/2017 - 12:34pm Penalty or option to take a T.O.

Is how I think they call it.  It's not rare to see a college player that leaves his piece stuck on his helmet.  It's rare to see the refs ever call it.

09/05/2017 - 3:20pm Ruiz is a true frosh

not a RS frosh

08/18/2017 - 1:54pm I know little about rugby but basically

you are saying it's such an easy sport that somebody at 26 with zero experience could play well enough to get paid?  I can't think of another sport like that.

08/18/2017 - 11:55am Who's your "others"?

I don't recall ever hearing anybody say anything negative about Badger fans.  Why would they have a beef with Michigan fans?  They're not a rival.  We hardly ever play them.

Note to OP.  If you don't get to Wisconsin this year or in 2019 you may never get there.  It might be 10 years before we play at Madison again.  PSU will be there every other year.

08/16/2017 - 2:45pm I think the way time zones work is that

EDT is EDT regardless where you are located ;-)

Clue:  It's a meme.  Not a hacked tweet.

08/16/2017 - 2:27pm That would have been funny if it were true.

They could have sold it better by matching the time stamp up to Trump's tweet.  But I still give it a B+.

08/15/2017 - 3:25pm You do know that the arena has been closed

since its Sparty owner didn't submit his employees michigan withholding taxes to the state?  Sparty owner now in prison.  Arena closed.

08/15/2017 - 2:01pm Westside

Every seat has a great view of multiple tv's, the decor is all Michigan, food is good, it's mostly locals, and you can avoid downtown.  You will find the occassional lost Sparty but the owners and patrons are big time Michigan fans.

08/09/2017 - 12:21pm I don't think so. Not for a WDE.

Wormley and Taco were heavier but they have a different body type.

6'3" 245 is perfect in college for that hybrid DE/LB position.  Like the Texan's use Clowney who's 6'6" and 265.

08/08/2017 - 10:18pm I'll admit I downvoted your first comment.

But I have upvoted this comment.  No harm no foul.  OP is obviously a UM grad with an extensive vocabulary.  No malice intended in his OP.

08/08/2017 - 12:36pm I'm curious why you wouldn't have offered Simmons?

I don't have any affaliation to the kids but I saw him play at least 3 times in HS and every time he was a beast.  Pioneer wasn't very good unfortunately for him but he kept them in a lot of games.

08/08/2017 - 12:30pm I saw him play at Saline last year.

The only way I knew who he was is because people at the game said "that's Dobbs".  Nothing about his play stood out.  Now Belleville is not good and Saline is very good.  So that probably had something to do how he looked.  Harbaugh was not at that game but I'm sure he had somebody there observing for him.

Also, Belleville head coach (Crowell) is a Wilcher disciple from Cass Tech but it is thought that he has a hard on for OSU and is not a Michigan guy like Wilcher.  Word is he was always pushing Damon Webb and Mikey Weber towards Columbus.

08/03/2017 - 3:23pm That was the first time I watched the Rumler video. Yikes!

That kids a sophomore?!?!  He's a road grader!!!

07/27/2017 - 4:15pm Thanks WD.

I just wasted 10 minutes looking at that tweet trying to figure out who those players are!  I finally figured I'd check the board and BAMN!

07/20/2017 - 2:34pm Not saying he'll get a not guilty verdict

I'm just predicting he does not get a guilty verdict.  Could be a hung jury, case dropped, mistrial, etc.

07/20/2017 - 1:27pm Not an attorney and I don't play one on tv

but my gut says he will not be found guilty.

07/20/2017 - 12:20pm I think Harbaugh is taking recruiting to another level.

Too bad he isn't staying at Michigan for the long haul hahahahahaha

07/19/2017 - 10:06am I bought two in Section 450 and paid $110 a piece

with fees.  I'd say pay the $100 per now as long as they are all together.

Mine are available as I'm not able to go.  But I'd like to get my $110 each and I only have two.

07/17/2017 - 2:32pm Says the guy with the GoT meme for his picture

haha

07/17/2017 - 11:00am Probably best to not open threads that say "GoT" in the subject

;-)

07/13/2017 - 9:15pm Ask Mike Hart

He might have an opinion on that.

07/13/2017 - 9:07pm No clue why you'd put Evans at slot.

I think he's the best RB we have.

07/13/2017 - 8:40pm O’Mary Samuels

Anybody that has seen video or pics of O’Mary Samuels knows why the S&C coach loves that dude!

He looked like a 5th year Senior when he walked in the door!!!

06/16/2017 - 9:27am I tend to favor any kid that's considering our

beloved institution to play football or any other sport.  But I have to say I was thinking to myself that if I'm that kid and not a for sure 5 star talent, would I want to go to Michigan and already have Peters, McCaffrey, and Milton in front of me and gawd knows what 5 star studs Harbaugh brings in for the next 2 or 3 years behind me?  My thought was maybe he'd have a better chance to show is talents at another program.  You could be a great college QB with NFL potential but if you have an elite QB that comes in before or after you arrive, you could spend your college career on the bench.

Matt Gutierrez (Gutz) was a highly recruited QB that loved Michigan.  He got a minor injury at the wrong time and had a 5 star freshman named Henne that just showed up on campus.  Henne got the start and never came close to losing the job once he got it.  Gutz eventually transferred to Idaho State for his Senior year.  I think Idaho State was Div 2 at the time.  He got playing time and played well but wasn't drafted.  He signed as a free agent and spent 6 or 7 years as a backup in the NFL.  I believe he was Brady's backup for a time.  Anyway, I remember when Gutz left he wrote a letter to the fans and praised Michigan up and down.  It was his true love and would always consider himself a Michigan Man.  But he had to move on for his personal development as a player.

I assume Gutz made some decent coin.  Undrafted free agent that hung around in the league for 6 years as a backup QB.  Yeah he made some money.  But!  If he could have started for Michigan he probably would have been a 1st or 2nd round pick.  And would have made some serious coin!  He had the talent.  It was just bad timing with Henne and that was out of his control.

Point is Shough might have loved everything about Michigan other than the depth chart.  I'm sure part of him loved the thought of learning under Harbaugh.  But another part of him probably thought about the current 9th grade 5 star that is also going to dream of learning under Harbaugh.  There's only one QB on the field at a time and a smart kid would realize that.

Good luck Tyler.  We'll be watching you from a distance.

06/13/2017 - 12:10pm Watters World!

:-)

06/13/2017 - 12:08pm This is a Michigan board.

Not Ole Miss.  It's gonna lean left because the alums lean left.

06/13/2017 - 12:05pm You need to read less message board

and more books!

05/31/2017 - 11:56am So no Freep and maybe RichRod is still here.

To me sounds like Freep did us a favor.

05/25/2017 - 9:15am Impossible not to hear what's happening

with a show like GOT unless you lock yourself in a sky cell ;-)
