About time. Thoughts on replacement?

No more Zookball?! :/ maybe we can get lucky and Purdue will scoop him up if they can Hope after next season. I love seeing teams lose games due to hilarious coaching blunders so it's a really sad day when Zook leaves the Big 10

That'll happen when you lose 27-7 to Minnesota with the 7 points coming in garbage time. What the hell happened there?

Man, good thing Jim Tressel has his dream job with the Colts right now

Hayden Fox. He's been out for a while but he did wonders for Minnesota State.

EDIT: A suggestion so good I thought I'd double post it.

Is this going to have any effect on our 2012 or 2013 class?

I heard that Joe Paterno is looking for win 410.

I will personally walk Ron Zook's resume to Urban Meyer's in-box in Columbus.

I think Illinois is lucky at all that they're 6-6. I saw their 3 point win against Western and their last minute 3 point win over Arizona State. Against Northwestern, they were able to come back from 14 points down in the 4th quarter once Dan Persa left the game with an ankle injury.
They could very easily be 3-9 right now.
The Zook hire was kind of confusing in the first place. The nation saw how badly he did at Florida where talented players are everywhere you look.

From this article:
Zook finishes his Illini career at 34-51, though there were some successes. He led the program to the 2008 Rose Bowl, where it was blown out by USC.

For most of the last decade, getting blown away by USC in the Rose Bowl was the prize for winning the Big Ten or coming in second.

That's not bad.
Just going to the Rose Bowl is a dream for Illinois.
But that paragraph is still hilarious in it's stupidity.

I know that he is a popular target here, but I'll give him credit for coming out and making a genuine and sincere statement almost immediately after he lost his job.

Illinois is handling this coaching transition better then Akron did with Rob Ianello.
