Your favorite Spartans
As a long-time lurker, occassional poster, I thought I would offer some friendly banter during hate week. I know from various comments on here which of my fellow Spartan brethren you collectively despise.
Out of curiosity, who among the Spartan community does MGoBlog collectively admire or respect (if any)?
I'll start it off and will admit that I did like watching Trey Burke (except when he played us), Biakabutuka and the A-Train, and also Jeremy Gallon for his accomplishments. Also, it's really hard to hate or disrespect Beilein.
This might be a disaster, but what the hell. Who are your favorite Spartans (if any)?
(Cue the "the guy always hooks me up with extra fries at McDonald's...durrr" posts)

because he was terrible at MSU but he was awesome at my college alma mater (Hillsdale), so much that the field is named after him.

so much I doubled it. Whoops.

was an athlete. Saw two great plays from him in college I'll never forget. In baseball a massive home run at Kobs Field against Michigan and against Iowa in football he ran an intecepted pass down to prevent a TD. Gibson was in the endzone and ran 85 yards to catch him. Incredible play.

Kirk was the man, loved him as a Tiger.
Incidentally, one of the 'other' QBs at MSU right now used to be one of my sister's students when he was in grade school. He's taken the time to meet and sign autographs for my niece and nephew, so in my book...good guy. Tommy Vento (sp?). /respect, Tommy.

when Kirk Gibson's name comes up. I was a child when Gibson played for the tigers, and I always loved him. Remember when he hit one out of old Tiger Stadium. Also loved watching him in WS for the Dodgers. That was truly one of the greatest moments in sports.

Gibby was the man. Loved him as a Tiger, and as the WS winning fist-pumping Dodger.
Least favorite Sparty: Tony Mandarich.

Justin Abdelkader and Drew Miller. The rest of them, ESPECIALLY Kirk Cousins and Mark Dantonio, can eat my shorts.
I'm supposed to like Tom Izzo because I'm a Yooper, but nope.

I really enjoy watching Draymond Green in the NBA. And it's interesting for me to note that a lot of what I like him for now was on display in East Lansing, but I...couldn't really appreciate it as much then.

For KG and JA it's about what they did at MSU and what they've done for Detroit sports teams of course.
Magic Johnson changed the game.
John L. Smith and Bobby Williams are truly missed.
And the Spartan who ran the clock in East Lansing before the guy who screwed it up that one year.
Nick Saban.

Think back to the replay of our winning FG in '12. Remember the MSU guy that was waving "no good" and skipping as the ball sailed through the uprights? That guy.

the premise of the opening statement that you were to list your FAVORITE players from the opposition, not your team.
Comprehension, apparently, not your strong suit. Oh and by the way, My Favorite Sparty of All-Time is my wife of 35 years. She deserves the attention. And no, we will not be watching this game jointly on Saturday.

I think our MSU student friend ended his/her post with "GoBlue" and presents himself/herself with the user name "UndercoverBlue".
If an MSU student wants to be a Michigan fan, I say welcome aboard! And those students should feel free to call Michigan "their team" if that's the team that they truly pull for.
So I'm not sure where the breakdown in comprehension is.
