WVU presser about NCAA investigation at 1 p.m.

Rothstein said in his chat that Coach Rod might make a statement, as well. Figures it would come right before camp starts.

I think I can state one irrefutable fact: we will never know if our penalties, whatever they may end up being, were helped our hurt by this latest news.

4 weeks can't go by fast enough.

Reason one is that I don't expect anything of consequence from the NCAA, beyond what Michigan has self-imposed for the petty allegations that actually stuck.  The only remaining outstanding allegation is the one against Rich Rodriguez for failing to promote an atmosphere of compliance.  Which the University is joining in opposing.  If anything serious transpires, I'll be very, very surprised.

Reason two is that I don't expect the NCAA to behave as if it is the Star Chamber, and issue double secret probations, based on unstated findings, for unstated reasons.  It might; I don't know.  But that's one hell of a way to operate the disciplinary arm of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.  The NCAA ought to be explaining very clearly what it does.

Never been so excited to just have football played as I am this year.  I think the team will be fun to watch too. But, even if we were staring down 2-10 or something, it would be a relief. I am just so sick of the over reaction from a lot of Michigan fans about everything.  Being on this blog is a total gift.

People here grasp the concept of building in a new direction and aren't prone to jumping to conclusions.  The honest reality is that if Rich had put up double digit wins the last two years, none of this stuff would have had legs.

It's about the W's.  A few more of them this year can finally shut everyone up. Or at least give me an easy answer when they start whining or belittling the program.
