Would you rather have Amara Darboh or Jordan Payton?

Submitted by kaykaybroke on

Just wondering in the eyes of the mgousers, which WR you would rather have in this years class? I understand that taking both is a possibility, but with the likelihood of Michigan leading for both, which would you take over the other?

Payton has been considered ovrrated by some, but still looks like a solid possession reciever, while Darboh seems to be the "big-play threat" type of player. Rivals and Scout ratings seem to prefer Payton to Darboh, but they're both consensus four stars.

Thoughts?

While it's a give that if you can't get into college...go to state, how does a player like Burbridge qualify for msu and not Michigan? Is it the type of situation where msu is willing to take a larger risk that he will qualify for the ncaa, or Michigan standards for qualifying are just that far above our little brother?

it's an absolutely terrible idea to have something like this up where potential recruits can read it, just in case there's a consensus against a guy who is a slight michigan lean. come on, mods.

i guess im repeating what has been said above but they are two different types of players and sort of fill diffrent needs, payton is the possession receiver who can keep the chains moving and darboh is the explosive guy who can stretch the filed, i want both but if I had to only choose one it would be payton with hemingway graduating

Questions:

  1. Who wants to be at Michigan more?
  2. Who do we need more (possession, speed/elusiveness)?
  3. Who do Michigan coaches reall want?
  4. Who does Borges especially want?
  5. Who fits well at Michigan?
  6. Is there room for both?
  7. Will either do significantly better academically?
  8. Do either have any character/maturity issues?
  9. How would taking either affect other recruits?

I agree somewhat with Magnus about pipelines. Specifically, we will have no pipeline to Oaks Christian . . . guys from there go everywhere. I have read good things about both. I don't want any prima donnas. I do want guys that are all in for Michigan. I do want bright guys who are ready to learn.

It will work out either way. They both are good, and I think they both want to be here.
