Was able to watch much of the live stream from NCAA, and one of the highlights was oft-injured Trish's bar routine and seeing how thrilled the team was for her afterwards. (And the commentators too. Of course one of them was Elise Ray.)
But I agreed with some of the social media chatters on the side who questioned the yellow on the tusch of the M leotards. I know they were more concerned about the unflattering location of the color, but can we really not have genuine maize anymore?
Fortunately, the ladies were less concerned about fashion than their performances. Terrific job.

- Kylee Botterman: four first-team awards for vault, beam, floor, and all-around
- Trish Wilson: first-team on bars (first place)
- Brittnee Martinez: first-team on bars
- Katie Zurales: first-team on vault
- Sarah Curtis: second-team on bars and all-around
- Natalie Beilstein: second-team on floor
Here's a note on the events on Saturday and Sunday:
The Wolverines vie for the program's first national championship on Saturday afternoon (April 16) at 4 p.m. in the Super Six finals. Michigan will test its mettle against Oklahoma, UCLA and the top three teams from the evening session of semifinals. U-M's four All-America first teamers will compete for individual national titles on Sunday afternoon (April 17) at 1 p.m. in the NCAA Individual Event Finals.

The second session has now concluded, with these teams making it into the Super Six: Michigan, UCLA, Oklahoma, Alabama, Nebraska and Utah. Michigan's 196.700 was the fourth-best score of the day.
Futher congratulations to Kylee Botterman, whose 39.525 all-around score was the best of the day, making her the All-Around National Champion! She's only the third Michigan women's gymnast to be a national champion--Beth Wymer and Elise Ray were the other two.

Congrats to both Kylee Botterman and Sam Mikulak for bringing home the national AA champs for Michigan. I wonder if that has ever happened before?

"It is also believed to be the first time in NCAA history a freshman has won the all-around crown. Additionally, with women's gymnast Kylee Botterman winning the NCAA all-around tonight, Michigan becomes the first school to win both the men's and women's titles since 1982" (http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-gym/recaps/041511aaa.html)
Further, MGoBlue says that Michigan now has a grand total of 3 men's all-around national champions, one coming last year (when a non-Michigan female gymnast won that all-around) and one coming back in the 1960's. Women's Gymnastics became sanctioned by the NCAA in 1982. So it's certainly the first time in Michigan history that both programs have the All-around champion. Also, it looks like Kylee is Michigan's 2nd women's all-around champion and first solo woman all-around champion for Michigan, since Elise Ray tied for the all-around title in 2001.
A little more digging says that it may be, despite MGoBlue's assertion, the first time in NCAA history, as well. In 1982, a girl from Utah and a guy from UCLA won their respective all-arounds (http://www.nawgjwa.com/HISTORY/historyncaa.html) and unless that website is wrong, I don't see any years where the same school won both.
Either way, a very impressive feat. Congratulations to both gymnasts and good luck to the ladies tomorrow as they compete for their first team title! Go Blue!
Both all-around champions from Michigan for men's and women's. And the men's champ is a freshman. Congrats to Kylee Botterman again. You will be missed.
