Wisconsin Leaving Adidas for Under Armour in 2016
I guess it's worth noting that they picked up Miami and Arizona State in that time, but the outlook still doesn't look great for them.
Wisconsin will be the third B1G program outfitted by UA, after Maryland and Northwestern.
Next year's game at the Big House v. Wisconsin should sting a little for Adidas, with two of their former marquee names squaring off in the first year of new duds.

It's what we'll do in the dead of winter to catch a glimpse of summer again

Good. Getting rid of Adidas is good for college football IMO.

I was kind of pulling for UA to pick up the MI deal, because I know folks that work at UA and I have friends that know/like the founder. But I'm also not a huge fan of uniformz and worried what they'd try to force on M.
So, that's a winding way to say I'm glad UA got this and M is with Nike. I don't have anything against Adidas, but I think a third apparel company making waves is a good thing.

Came for the WD OP. Left disappointed.

you find the discussion of an in-conference football team switching fro Adidas to another gear company just as we did earlier this year to be off-topic? If so, I think that "off-topic" encompasses too much material.

Just to set the record straight, Wisconsin news is absolutely on topic. Threads about any Big Ten team or any future opponent are on topic.

This is nowhere near as egregious a violation as the thread on the UCONN jalapeno mac and chesse kid.

Well two whole classes will have gone through four years at each school without playing each other by the time the series returns in 2016, it's hard to argue that we're barely in the same conference.

Seems weird that your screen name is in reference to a player who left the team four years before you joined, and wasn't exactly remembered for anything... good.

Just an FYI the deal is not in place yet. The regents are voting on it tomorrow. Yes, it will most likely get passed, but that's a poor title by CBSSports.

The UM deal hasn't been inked yet either.

That only leaves Nebraska and Indiana. Lets get Adidas out of the Big Ten!

Or keep Adidas and get Rutgers and Maryland out of the Big Ten... I mean B1G... whatever.

From the font used to the hodge podge of styles, graphics, etc., it looked like a uniform designed by committee.

In general I agree, but I don't care for Northwestern's "gothic" unis.

I am so glad Michigan is going back to NIKE and especially glad that they will be the only football team that has Jumpman.

Wisconsin probably was looking at highlights of their tournament run to the title game, said "goddammit it looks like our players are wearing fanny packs" and that was that.

I figured Wisconsin would team up with Hormel.

From the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel article:
The amount of annual cash compensation made under the existing contract with adidas varied from $750,000 in the first two years of the deal to $800,000 in the last three years. Under the proposed agreement with Under Armour, UW will receive an annual cash contribution of $4 million.
I am going to say that the over $3 million extra in additional contributions might have been a big draw to the Board Of Regents. Adidas has been out there saying that their branding strategy was changing a bit at the college level, but losing schools is a strategy, after all.
The guaranteed minimum royalty that the get from Adidas is $100,000. Under Armour is offering a minimum of $450,000.
