Wisconsin LB Chris Orr out for the year

Starting LB for Wisconsin Chris Orr was injured on the first play against LSU this Saturday and is now out for the year. This is a fairly big blow for them as their LB group is pretty thin.

They already have another LB hurt in TJ Edwards. He's missed all of fall camp and the LSU game, and is listed as questionable for the game this weekend. Against LSU they had a walk-on come in to replace Orr, who played well to his credit, and now have put a true freshman in on the two deep to replace Orr.

This looks like a weak spot for them that hopefully Michigan (but not MSU) can take advantage of.

LSU's rushing attack is fool's gold because their QB can't throw 5 yards down field. It was no different last season when he was the September Heisman and then was just pretty good for the rest of the year having to run the ball 30 times to get over 100 yards.

On the last play LSU ran, Fournette was not in the game (though Les it wasn't injury-related) and the QB threw another bad pass because he was flushed out of the pocket because his OL couldn't hold a pass rush again.

Also, I'd hate to criticize a coaching staff with deep UM ties, but why do you call a pass play when you're on the verge of FG territory and leave the best RB in CFB on the bench?  Even if Fournette is banged up, he's a great decoy for a play action pass.

Credit Wisconsin for taking care of business. I thought they had very little chance to beat LSU, but to be honest, LSU is among one of the easiest offenses in the country to gameplan for.

Stack 8-9 guys in the box, gang tackle Fournette, and dare Brandon Harris to beat you with his arm. 9 times out of 10, he won't be able to.

Almost feel bad for Fournette. He is truly an elite talent, but LSU is a one man show with him in the backfield. He is a great RB there, but if he went to a place like Alabama, which has a truly elite, balanced offense, he could've been one of college football's all time greats when his career finished.

in a come-from-behind win.  Ha!  TCU was in a dogfight w/ FCS S Dakota St and ended up pulling away near the end to win 59-41.

Utah vs BYU (winner over Ariz) is the only watchable game you listed.  (Neither is presently ranked, but it seems like a decent matchup between potential Top  50ish teams.)

He hadn't even seen the play and was trying to say postgame that his player didn't do it on purpose. Then today when they suspended him for all of 1 game Miles said it again, it was an accident he didn't know the play was dead even though he watched the QB throw the ball, watched Dixon pick it and combed through a wall of celebrating Wisconsin players to hit him.

So a personal foul is OK if the perpertrator thought it was during the game? Clotheslining someone is not legal during the game let alone afterwards.

That's just disappointing from Les Miles - he could have played it so many different ways and this was the best he could do.

But I hope we tear WI a new one. sister's bf is a WI fan and stole her phone this weekend to fire back shots against Harbaugh and Michigan. He was most pissed when I said Wisconsin was a second tier team. Argument was their 3 titles in 2010-2012. So because of those 4 years ago now this team is a premiere team in conference. I hope we crush them!

They are in the top 10 nationally in wins over the last 10 years.

They are in the top 10 nationally in wins over the last 20 years.

They are in the top 10 in NFL draft picks over the last 10 years.

They have the 6th longest active bowl streak in the country.

In the last 6 years they have been to 3 Rose Bowls and have bowl wins over Auburn and USC.

They have the top APR in FBS.

Sorry. You are dead wrong.

Jacobs played ILB the last two years before first sliding over to OLB and then over to offense this off season as he got displaced on the depth chart by some younger guys (now both injured). I liked him quite a bit in limited action two years ago, and he was injured much of last season, but I think they could switch him back and have themselves another plus ILB. I would be pretty surprised if they didn't.

Jacobs already moved back to ILB.

Edwards will return from his foot injury, although they will probably hold him out this week as a precaution with Orr out. Edwards, Cichy and Connelly will be the top 3 ILB wth Watt and Beigel outside. The ILB depth is now Jacobs, who started there last year before he was injured, and Nick Thomas, a redshirt freshman from IMG they like a lot.

They had pretty good depth at LB. Losing Orr on the first snap hurts, though.
