Winston is a dumb ass. Are they going to hold Necessary Roughness style tryouts next year or just keep everyone on scholarship and do a work release program to fill out the depth chart?

if only there were a place where he would be removed from the general public. perhaps locked in a big, secure building with other dangerous people for a pre-determined period of time, based on the nature and degree of their offenses. unfortunately, as far as i know, no such place exists.

I think Saint Dantonio will keep everyone on the team and will be praised by the media for giving "second chances to deserving young men."

Ex-Spartan Glenn Winston pleads guilty to charges from fight Eric Lacy / The Detroit News East Lansing -- Glenn Winston, permanently dismissed from Michigan State's football team, pled guilty Thursday in East Lansing's 54-B District Court to charges of misdemeanor assault and conspiracy to assault. A conspiracy to assault conviction carries a maximum penalty of one year in a jail and a $1,000 fine. A misdemeanor assault conviction can result in 93 days in jail and a $500 fine. Since Winston violated his two-year probationary sentence multiple times, he could face other penalties, including additional jail time, fines and court costs. The charges Winston faced Thursday stem from a Nov. 22 on-campus fight in the Rather Hall dormitory that involved MSU football playersand fraternity members. Winston pled guilty to the two charges as part of a plea agreement with the Ingham County Prosecutor's office that dropped an additional assault charge. Winston also pled guilty Thursday to violating five terms of a two-year probationary sentence stemming from a conviction last year of two misdemeanor assault charges. Winston's sentencing on the current charges is scheduled for 1 p.m. March 22 in 54-B District Court. Winston stood quietly before judge David L. Jordon on Thursday and gave mostly "Yes sir" and "No sir" responses. Winston did, however, admit in court to striking an MSU student in Rather Hall's lobby. Winston said he and former MSU teammates planned to fight fraternity members. "My fist hit his face," said Winston.
