Win Free Trip to Gator Bowl @ annarbor.com, or don't

EDIT: Can't recommend participating in this contest, due to the fine print mentioned in the thread below. Don't bother, you'll just end up getting screwed even if you win.

mods please feel free to remove this thread

Didn't want to start a new thread for this...does anyone know if we're home or away for this one?  Just got my Gator Bowl patch and I need to know which jersey to sew it on to.

Potential winner must respond within one hour and winner and guest must execute all necessary documentation at Sponsor’s office within three hours of being notified on December 16, 2010 or forfeit the prize.

It's not that bad. Maybe it's just because I work in Ann Arbor, but if I won I would walk there on my lunch break and be back within 20 minutes. It's worth it for some thousand dollar free vacation to a Michigan bowl gam IMO.

if you recognize that they want to stack the contest in favor of Michigan fans.

The answers to the questions are not so hard that someone who knows nothing about Michigan can't track them down

I agree - I posted the fine print because I no longer live in the area, but it makes sense to restrict it to local fans (though the time-frame is quite narrow).

If the winner doesnt respond within one hour, they call the next potential winner.  I won a trip to the 2001 Citrus Bowl after the first 3 "winners" didn't pick up the call.  The fine print there was even more strict, as if you didn't pick up your phone after one call, you were eliminated.  I got a call at 4:30pm and had to find a person to go with and get all the documentation signed by 5pm or I would have forfeited the prize.  I had someone from work fax in their signature on the document, but I had to be at the sponsor's office within 30 mins.

It wound up being a great trip, hosted by Jamie Morris who did an outstanding job.
