Per Sam Webb's Twitter. Finally a win for Hoke and co.

im glad he is coming but a big win would be beating OSU, Stanford, or Iowa for a recruit, not illinois, eastern, and toledo.  if he didnt choose us i would have to start questioning the recruiting tactics usedby hoke and co.

The reaction isn't based on the class as a whole but the not unrealistic expectation that we would be able to pull at least 1-2 nice recruits in the span that OSU has pulled about 8 or 9.

No one expected the class to close with a whimper like this. No reason to mask disappointment.

come on, you know that mentality is bullshit.  take your job for example.  if you did well at you job the first part of the year but sucked at it the second part of the year, would you really expect an excuse like "but look what i did a while ago and keep praising me for it and don't expect me to keep doing a good job the entire time".  while hoke and co. have more to the job than recruiting, it is a big part of the job and the quality of that part of his job right now is not very high.  no reason to fire the guy or anything like that but we can be disappointed at hoke's ability to get a commitment right now.

That might have been the dumbest thing I've ever read on here.  If most of the kids Hoke is recruiting decide to verbal early, what in the hell is he supposed to do?  I guess he should tell them no because some dumbass poster on mgblog thinks it means more to verbal later in the process.  Dumbass!

It's been a while since you've been positive about anything here, no?  Was 11 wins (including a BCS win) not enough?  Top 5-10 recruiting class not enough?  Sure, it would have been nice to beat OSU for Reeves, but that's the only kid we lost to OSU (who got a late start and was allowed to have a separate recruiting staff by the NCAA).  Also, let's not forget that we haven't "closed" the class.  We're still in it for 5* Diamond and it's a safe assumption that something unexpected will shake loose.  In short, the sky is not falling.  Take your Vitamins.  Put away the umbrella.  Step off the ledge.

C'mon man, give it a break.

If there was a poster as relentlessly positive as you are negative, he'd be singing praises about how Hoke & co. have beat OSU in the recruiting battles for Kalis, Strobel, AJ Williams, Joe Bolden, etc. etc. etc.....so what if they committed before Urban was around.

They're Ohio kids coming to Michigan that Ohio wanted.

Let it go and people will start responding better. At this point, people just downvote your posts to hide them so they don't have to read negativity.

Hoke has done amazingly well. He's referring to the last three or four days, which have been hellish. We lost important high 4 star recruits to Stanford, Ohio, Iowa, and now a three star to Oklahoma. No matter how things were, those consecutive goal line losses smart. A lot.

I'm not talking about the quality of the recruit here, just the quality of his offers.  It wouldnt matter to me if we were battling OSU for a 2* recruit, only the fact that we haven't been able to beat the big schools for the players we wanted regardless of their overall rating.  to me its a good pick up, but a win it is not.

yay! in hoke and co. i trust! stars dont mean a thing. if hoke and mattison see something in him. i believe. look what they did with a true 3* freshman linebacker morgan.

I think this is the right call. Henry may not be a blue chip prospect, but while it may be tempting to view these guys as all or nothing bets, it doesn't work that way. He fills a need, and banking 5 scholarships for next year would just have been too many.

With 3 defensive line coaches on staff, if there is one position where the coaches have freedom to take a sleeper or two it is DL in my opinion. Excited about this commit.
