Why Im more upset about last night's ND game

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU OVER TURN A GOAL THATS SO OBVIOUS. I'm getting sick of this typical "screw em over" CCHA shit they have pulled on Michigan this season. They gave MSU the game by screwing us out of a goal and they did the same last night. Walkins, I swear to god if I ever see him in public I'll kill him, son of a bitch. Then what the hell was with all of the one sided penalties? It was like we weren't even allowed to hit them or else the arm came up! I'm extremely upset and even considering writing a letter to the CCHA because this bull shit has to stop. Playoffs are coming up and we have to deal with assholes like this joker? Bull shit. My congratulations to team USA on an incredible run. 2014 is our year, just wait!

Dead on, man. I agree with you in every aspect. We've been shafted by so many egregious 'non-calls,' it's sickening. I count at least five this year: OSU, MSU, Wisconsin, BU, and Notre Dame, not to mention the screwjob against Notre Dame last year. Though it's not exactly official correspondence, I'm posted on the CCHA fan page, in no uncertain terms, that my fandom is waning. :) But yes, I'm almost to that point as well.

I would say that it was more a case of they could not definatly see that the puck was across the line. The ref originally called "no-goal" and looking at the replay, you could not see the puck in the goal. Looking at the other angles (the BTN feed) might have helped with that, but apparently, they did not have the capability to look at anything but the overhead shot. I know at Yost and Munn, they can pull in the broadcast feed and look at all the angles, but the announcers said they could not do that at Notre Dame. Why? Is it a case of ND not wanting to invest in the equipment? Don't know if that would have changed the call, but at least it had a better possibility.

It was a topic of discussion late last season after Michigan got hosed several times, but the CCHA never made it mandatory for schools to add equipment to allow all angles be available for review on televised games. I believe the equipment would cost $10-15K, though I don't know why they couldn't just get a little TV from Best Buy and run a really long audio/video cable to the production truck. But not all teams are like Michigan, where almost every home game is televised. For instance, none of Northern Michigan's home games are televised locally unless Fox Sports or Comcast comes up to do a game, which may happen once a year if they're lucky. Is it worth them spending that much money on equipment they use once a year? So it does become an expense issue.

http://michiganhockey.net/?p=1187 If you take the time to watch the overhead camera in frame-by-frame mode, you will see they made the right call *based on the evidence they were presented.* Where the puck hits on the right side of that photo you can't tell if it's the left post or inside cross bar and the puck also appears to be on the goal line (which it isn't... more on that below). It's easy for us at home to see that side angle from behind the net which clearly showed the puck in the net, but the referees don't have the benefit of the extra angles. They made the only call they could based on what they were given. If you want to be mad, be mad at Notre Dame for not putting the goal cam directly above the net. If it was aligned properly, the top cross bar and goal line would be on top of each other and you would have easily been able to see the puck go inside the net. Instead, it's at such an angle that the goal line appears to be inside the net and gave the impression on replay that the puck never crossed the line but was on it and you couldn't tell which post it hit.

We need some uniformity between conference members and the video review equipment they employ, that's all I'm saying on that. I think Anastos needs to weigh in on this, because it's getting a little tiring.
